i need a few volunteers to come aboard the ss first breath for half an hour in a few days to help me with something. i don't want to say what it is yet but i promise it's nothing bad! actually it'll be fun if i do my job right.

and if anyone recognizes the game duel monsters, let's talk! i have some ideas for what we can do here.

Perhaps a better idea would be to offer meeting on neutral ground. Such a mysterious request would make most men wary.

Um, well - I need a room, and I don't know where to find one on neutral ground...

True, we do want for space and place to be here. In that case... perhaps have more than one person for the sake of security. Or disclose what it is you wish to do.

[Yuya sounds a tiny bit disappointed. He was sort of expecting the secrecy to be part of the fun.]

I thought it would be more exciting if I could keep people guessing.

In most cases, perhaps. Trust is not something we can freely afford here...

[ It's obvious that she's disappointed in this fact, as well. ]

Is it really that bad here?

[Disappointment, mingled with disbelief. What's happened that people can't trust others in the same boat?]

Whether it is that bad is not the point. Being separated between ships such as we are does not allow us to truly build reputations outside of our own crews on any regular basis.

[ Despite the seriousness, her voice lightens for the next part. ]

That said, I would not mind participating upon one condition. What are duel monsters?

[That sounds pretty isolated, and Yuya's not sure he likes it. The question reminds him of his personal goals, though, and his enthusiasm picks up a bit.]

Duel Monsters is a game where I come from. Back home, nobody would ever need to ask what it was...dueling was something everyone could enjoy watching, even if you didn't know much.

You would train monsters for sport?

[ Man, that sounds like the colosseum... but for a child to participate, it's a bit startling. ]

No way! They're...like illusions. Not real monsters.

[Given the regularity with which monsters get destroyed, battling with real monsters would be pretty horrifying.]
