[ target cannot be resurrected. ]
Who: Belthazar and whoever
Broadcast: Yes, the first part.
Action: The bug ship, and the Bishop when he returns.
When: RIGHT NOW.
[Technically he shouldn't be on the ship, but he isn't going too far. By the door he's set up a little shrine of white candles. He kneels down and lights them with a simple gesture. Belthazar's sleeves still have some rips and tears in them from fighting the bugs, but at least they're clean.
A moment of rustling, and he leaves a small offering of white flowers symbolizing sympathy and grief. Thanks, Ino.]
Elor bindel felallan morin'aminor.
[He isn't sure what else to say.]
I am... sorry.
[SS Bishop;]
[Anyone seeking out the tiny elfling later will find him freshly-showered and seated in the kitchen. He's made something a little more traditional this time-- breaded chicken, dairy-free gravy, and mashed potatoes. There's plenty for the crew. In the meantime, he's eating and reading at the same time.
Looks to be some kind of trashy fantasy novel. A Melody of Frost and Flame? Belthazar, you can do better.]

Bug Ship Action;
[Allen wasn't going to let them continue to suffer like this. That's not something he could let himself do, as an Exorcist.]
[At least it looks like he's being cautious against the spores. He's got a suit on, helmet and all. He's also very much armed- with guns at his side, a couple knives and a large sword on his back. When he reaches where Belth is, he slows to a stop and stares. At least, it looks like he's staring-it's really hard to tell with the helmet on]
Is...that supposed to be a shrine?
no subject
M-- maybe.
[The tsun is strong in this one.]
no subject
For the original on this ship...?
[He considers]
That's a kind gesture.
no subject
The compliment of sorts makes him blush a bit. He looks away, shuffles awkwardly.]
They sent out a distress signal and all we did was murder them. It's not right to just... leave it like this.
no subject
...Unfortunately, putting them to rest is all we can do for them at this point.
Still, it was a tragedy. It's good to remember that.
no subject
[He's frustrated.]
Years and years of studying magic and I can do nothing.
no subject
Even our best doctors couldn't do anything to repair the damage done to their nervous systems. Sometimes that happens...even with the best of healers. I'd imagine they all the feel much the same as you right now.
But you're praying for them. You're remembering them. No one else thought to build a shrine for them. That isn't nothing. It may help their souls move onto the afterlife, instead of being trapped here where they fell.
That means...more than you can know.
no subject
I... suppose so. It reminds me a little too much of home.
[He glances over at the candles, softly flickering and casting reflections on the metal around them.]
Is someone planning a burial of some sort? I doubt any spirit would be restful with the way things have been. [And their bodies strewn about every which way.]
no subject
There's...talk of cremation, and having some sort of memorial. Hopefully we can find something about their traditions in their databases. If not...
Well, there's numerous faiths here in the fleet. I'm sure we could work together to make a respectful funeral.
no subject
[Ah yes, what a great word. Plague.
He looks at Allen and actually pays attention to how he's dressed this time.]
Were you... taking care of them?
no subject
...Yes. [He gives a little nod]
That's part of my job as an Exorcist. They aren't the undead, but...it didn't feel right just to leave them like that.
no subject
That's... noble of you. I've never seen a priest with a sword, though. Usually they prefer staves.
[Belth pls.]
You must be very strong.
no subject
Ah, thank you. You could say that.
[HE COULD BENCH PRESS YOU LITTLE ELF]
And ah, staves probably wouldn't be very good for fighting something with tough armour. I much prefer blades.
no subject
[It's odd, and he can't figure out the source. If it was some kind of ward he could easily undo it, but...]
no subject
no subject
[Though he wouldn't bet on it.]
no subject
...Magic's part of everyday life in your world, I take it?
no subject
It's a part of everything. All elves have some sensitivity to it.
no subject
No wonder you sound skeptical of non-magical means. A place like this was probably a large shock.
no subject
no subject
You're from another world that kidnapped people?!
[HOW MANY OF THESE THINGS ARE THERE?]
no subject
[He can't help blinking at the surprise. He thought it was old hat by now.]
Is that uncommon?
no subject
Just how many places take people?
no subject
[He sighs lightly.]
no subject
We'll find a way. Somehow.
