Worse that for a few minutes he'd felt more than a little comfortable slipping into that kind of role again, even if the trappings were a bit different than what he'd been used to. The world he'd glimpsed had been far more outwardly dangerous, but no less poisonous. It wasn't until bullets started flying that a mental scream started to build that he had no capacity to release.
He'd asked for the drink in the hopes that it would help calm him, but the resulting flash of memory had done exactly the opposite. He does a better job of covering up the panic this time, setting down the glass with a shaking hand]
Perhaps something a little more conventional for the next round, hm?
[And if the drink is going to have any other effect, he hasn't felt it yet. It's the only thing he can think of to give himself time to scramble for answers.
He focuses a little more sharply on the bartender, leaning forward with a smile]

[but the implication is clearly that Felix should just stay at the bar. why would anyone want to leave the place where they could just sit still and have whatever sin they wanted?
the corridors aren't exactly inviting, either. they all have glowing signs above them in the same style as exit signs, but they each read FLEE, RELEASE, and GOODBYE, respectively. not quite the correct word, but the sentiment is maybe similar.]

It's a chance he decides he has to take, rather than stand here while his veneer of calm slips off where the bartender can watch it happen. At least those hallways might offer some quiet.]
