[Yeah so weirdly, his boyfriend had not been so chill with the idea with Clay doing a test flight of this suit off a cliff. Especially alone, so of course he had followed along- choosing to be on the lower ground in case something went horribly wrong]

[God. It was a good thing his hair was already white. It's taking everything in him not to cover his eyes when he jumps off the cliff so he can be ready with his powers if it goes wrong, but-]

- Ah! It works?!

[HALLELUJAH]

[At least it was a small cliff! But it's okay, because now he's flying, and Allen can probably hear the utterly thrilled laughter even from where he is.

BYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..........]

[look any cliff looks like a mountain when its your boyfriend jumping off it okay]

[But as the idea that Clay is flying and not going splat on the ground sinks in, it's a huge relief. He laughs and jumps a little just from the sheer feeling of it]

Oh thank God-

[He'll call out]

Looking good, Clay!

[He's a little too far away to turn around and yell something, since thaaat would probably make him lose control. But he does give a thumbs up!

Later on, he'll definitely try to find him as he's coming on for a landing. Where will Allen be?!]

[On a patch of snow. When it seems that he's getting lower, Allen will give him a wave to indicate where he is. COME ON CLAY YOU CAN DO IT. YOU CAN LAND SAFELY]

[Okay

You know what

Clay's pretty sure he's got the flying part down, though it'll probably take him more flies to master it. That part's okay.

But he has no idea how to land.

He tries to figure out as he gets lower. And he can't, so he just. Tries his best by tilting his arms and lowering his legs -

Nope, that was wrong. The wind flips him back a bit, and he goes skidding and tumbling to the ground before he knows it.

So. Not the safest landing! But he still pops right back up when he's actually stopped, a huge grin on his face and laughter escaping as he dusts himself off. Any landing you can walk away from!!]

[- Oh boy]

[Yeah as soon as Clay starts tumbling Allen's running over. He reaches the area that Clay got blown into not too long after the crash land]

Clay! You okay?

[Once Allen reaches him, Clay turns to him, and yeah, he does look roughed up, and there's definitely some snow still clinging everywhere. But he still takes off his helmet, pushes up his goggles to about where his visor would be, and then grabs Allen's upper arms all in one motion.]

Did you see that?! It worked! I was flying! I was actually - Haha!

[Well, he definitely looks like he crash landed- but he seems to be in one piece, thank goodness. Knowing that in mind, he'll smile at him and put his hands on his waist]

Yeah I saw you! You looked stellar up there!

[Sure it was nerve-wracking to watch. but hey- that didn't mean he couldn't be thrilled that Clay got what he was hoping for]

[Clay kind of feels like running somewhere and yelling at the top of his lungs just to get his energy out, but he's got somewhere here to help ground him a bit. Even still, he bounces in place a few times, unable to really contain it, then leans in to give Allen a great, big hug around the shoulders, even swaying slightly in it.]

Ahhhh, I love you I love you, thank you for watching me!

[And, you know, making sure he didn't break his legs or anything from the initial jump]

[He laughs some as he returns the hug- the happiness is infectious, really]

Of course I'd watch you, Cowboy! I'm so glad it worked!

[Gosh, Clay's so happy that he ends up lifting Allen off of his feet a bit]

I'm glad too - This is exactly what Hiccup would've wanted!

[Because hey, this isn't just about Clay getting his flight jollies. Hiccup had been working to make a flight suit that worked without losing control too much, and Clay had a near perfect run with it. This is definitely the suit Hiccup wanted, though he's sure he'd still make modifications for it, and Clay's all too happy to honor that.]

[Ah- okay that's definitely his feet leaving the ground. He'll quickly move his arms to around Clay's neck so he has something to hold onto]

Mm, he would've loved to see this.

[He smiles again and leans forward to press his forehead against Clay's.]

How did it feel? Was it everything you'd imagined?

[It's okay, Clay won't keep Allen up in the air for long. He lowers him back to his feet, though he'll still keep up the contact between their foreheads, eyes shutting to bask in it.]

It was more than that. I've been flying in planes before, but it was like... like I was completely unrestrained. Like all of gravity just - let me go for a little while. I never thought about what the wind in my hair would be like, it's... it's amazing.

[His hands slide down Allen's arms until they reach his own, where he entwines their gloved fingers together, and leans his head back a bit to smile down at him.]

I just wish I could show you what it was like, Starlight.

[He'll squeeze Clay's gloved hand affectionately]

It's alright, I've had friends take me flying before.

[Well, more like his first ex. but....no need to spare that detail]

You looked more like a natural up there than I ever was.

I was always meant to be away from the ground.

[But ooooh, now he has to lean in to huddle closer to his boyfriend, tucking his head against his shoulder.]

But right now I'm cold.

[The flight suit doesn't really let him wear much extra clothes below or above it, after all, and he just spent some time in the freezing wind. His cheeks are red from more than just spending time with the bf!]

[He'll give a light snicker at Clay. He pulls his hands away just to pull his own earmuffs off and put them on Clay. The scarf too comes off and gets wrapped around Clay's neck. He then moves back to putting his hands around his boyfriend to help him with warmth]

You feel cold. Let's get you inside, okay? Maybe we can have some hot chocolate.

That sounds really good right now.

[Thank goodness for the extra warmth Allen provided, because his ears and nose were the coldest of all, being the ones to get a facefull of icy cold wind. He takes a second to pull the edge of the scarf up over his mouth and nose before he huddles in again with a shiver, his voice a bit muffled now.]

Lead the way, Starlight.
