Hey, guys. Just a quick check-in: is everyone good with money? We've had a lot of new faces show up recently, and I feel like it could be tough spending your couple of days here broke on a space station this size. So, uh - welcome, I guess!

[It's hard to tell where Chloe is, the punk girl is just curled up somewhere with a cigarette half-finished between her lips, looking so amused.]

'cause I am all about free money.

Not really allowances.

[ tadashi laughs softly, shaking his head a little dismissively. ]

Just trying to help people out who might need it.

Huh. No strings though?

[Her amusement shifts to a bit skeptical.]

Cause nobody does things like that for free. What do you want for it?

[ MAN he thought this was a good idea, why are you people so dubious. ]

I don't know. Be nice to my little brother? World peace? [ he shrugs, palms upward. ] I'm just trying to be welcoming. That's all, seriously.

[Chloe's had a rough life, that's all. People don't do things for nothing, man.]

[She takes the cigarette from her mouth and sits up a bit, eyeing him.]

So if I found some way to come to you, right now, you'd just hand over money. You wouldn't suddenly go 'oh right but first you have to blow me.'

[ WHOAH chloe, sorry - all the playfulness drains from his face immediately. he doesn't know her at all, but that's not going to stop him from kicking into automatic Overprotective Big Brother mode. ]

[His concern almost makes her laugh. Wow.]

I try to hold the people on the Fleet to a higher standard than that.

[She shrugs.]

Dude, I grew up in a 'quaint little Oregon seaside town' and it happened there.

Why would this place be different?

[ goddammit chloe he's used to people not questioning his sage brotherly remarks. he struggles for a moment, before shaking his head. ]

Because there aren't that many of us, and none of us are necessarily here by choice. It brings people together.

[She is so not sorry.]

Or they're just careful and sneaky about it.

[ tadashi watches her for a moment, then shakes his head. ]

No. They're better than that.

[ but it's gentle, not argumentative, and he smiles slightly to try to end that conversation. ]

If you need credits, they're yours. No strings attached.

Hey man, believe whatever you want. But in my experience, people...in general...suck.

So why do you even have money? Everyone's talking about how their cash is all tied up and frozen.

[ man, it makes him sad to hear that mindset. tadashi shrugs slightly, palms up. ]

Doing a lot of clerical work, and I get it done pretty quickly. It's not like I need the extra cash for anything right now.

Oh so this is new money you picked up on that station?

Hmm.

Probably take you up on it, if I weren't stuck on the Marsiva. You can give some to my friend Max if you want though.
