[As is common with new arrivals, there are a few very confused moments of waking up and scrambling around before the Fleet's newest arrival manages to find and switch off the nearest camera.

About half an hour later and significantly less panicked-looking, he switches it back on. Some quality time spent with his augment answered the pressing questions, like where am I and why aren't there any weapons here, and that he's not going to get an answer to are my friends okay without a little further input from him. So. If they're here, he reasons, they'll recognize him.]

Shouldn't there be more people here? Or do I get to be the only lucky winner this week?

The name's Finn. There are people on the other ships out there, right?

[Look it's very lonely on the Marsiva right now.]

Ah...yeah. There's actually a lot of other ships with people on them. You should get assigned to one in the next few days.

[He seems to relax at that.]

Good. Cause it isn't much of a drama if it's just me by myself.

Which one are you on?

Well maybe if you had a volleyball companion. [...] Nevermind, joke.

[ANYWHO]

I'm on the Blue Fish. My name's Allen Walker.

Uh, right. [What's a volleyball?]

Good to meet you, Allen. I guess we got a pretty good sized fleet here?

Nice to meet you too, Finn. And that's right, there's over a dozen ships.

[He raises his eyebrows. That's pretty good, actually.] Decent size.

[Finn looks at something offscreen - the viewport, perhaps?] All about the same size except this one?

[Allen meanwhile has no frame of reference what makes for a decent sized fleet- so hey! Good to hear!]

Yeah- well except the Iskaulit. That one's bigger too, but it's mostly just where you'll find things like fleet-run bars or faith centers or other community venues.

Iskaulit. Like a social hub? [It makes sense to him, if the other ships are mostly for private residences. Nobody wants a bar in their bunk.

Well, some people probably do.]

Yeah, exactly! That's a better way of putting it.

It sounds like you're more experienced with space fleets than I am.

Been part of a few different ones. I'm ground support, though. Leave the flying to the pilots.

[He's a lot more familiar with how ships provide air support to ground troops, but everyone learns the basic composition of fleets, from the smallest freighter-plus-escort all the way up to large-scale battles. Stormtroopers are needed for hand-to-hand when boarding enemy ships, after all.]

You been here long?

Really? What does ground support do exactly?

[Sounds more military than he's used to...]

Yeah. About a year and a half.

Medium-range and short-range combat, objective completion, guard duty, that sort of thing. I got the Security augment here, seems like mostly the same thing. [Military is spot on.]

You got plenty of experience, then. Or did you mean different kinds of fleets?

I see... [Yep. Definitely military] Well yeah, it's pretty similar. But we're not any military. Just a traveling fleet.

[So protection only really]

Different kinds of fleets, I mean. Before coming here, I'd only been in a ship a couple times.

Are we carrying cargo? Or just traveling because that's what they tell us to do?

[Hey, protection is a lot easier than assault. He'll take it.]

I've been in a few kinds then, yeah. Transports mostly, but I did patrols on some Sta--some big warships, and then I was on a freighter for a while.

[Oops, almost slipped Star Destroyer in there. Not a kind of ship a nice respectable Republic citizen would be assigned to.]

Basically because they tell us to. [Might as well be honest about it] Hopefully, we'll find a way back home someday.

[Though considering Allen had nothing to look forward to, he can't say he was in the biggest of rushes]

Ah- yeah, much more experience than me. Getting adjusted to here will be easy for you, I'd imagine.

[He hopes so too! Provided "going home" means he'll actually recover from that nasty wound he got, anyway.]

I won't mind not having everyone chasing me for a while.

Ah....

Attract a lot of trouble, do you? [Surely if he was a criminal, he wouldn't be so open about this right...............]

I'm not trying! It keeps finding me.

[Almost like he's wearing a plot device target or something.]

I see... [Yep, he knows that one] Maybe you're cursed.

That makes as much sense as anything else. [Said half under his breath, because seriously what is his life.]

So does trouble find us here, or are we mostly safe?

I'd say mostly safe.

There's the occasional fight or danger, but most of the time things are pretty peaceful. You'll have some time to breath.

That'd be a nice change. I haven't had a good sleep cycle in weeks.

[Because being knocked unconscious in battle doesn't count.]

Then hopefully you'll get a ship with beds.

Or at least someone who could trade off shifts with me. I'm not too picky.
