...Of course there's none. So he exhales, moving to stand on the group periphery as always.]
...This doesn't look like an emergency.

Depends on your point of view. I'm sure you've heard about the jamming devices? If not, there's been reports of them hacking other ship systems, which is why one of our own has gone offline.
I want to see if we have one aboard this ship, and get rid of it. I have no idea if Atroma put it there or an outsider, but in the end I don't really care. It just needs to get taken care of.
Towards that end, Kara -
[ He looked to her. ]
You have X-Ray vision, correct, as one of your powers? That seems the least invasive way of finding it aboard the ship, and if you can't we'll go to plan B. For now we need it found, then we can work on disarming it.
[ He looked to Winn. ]
I'll need you for that, Winn, so for now you're on stanby and finding out anything you can on those things.
[ Now to Fenris. ]
Fenris, you've been here the longest. Are you very familiar with the ship's outgoing information patterns? I want to see if someone can spot possible irregularities. There might be nothing to see, but if there is, I want to know. Every little bit is important.

[ he nods at jim. a jamming device? that's right up his alley. the timing is incredibly suspicious to him - it feels like a smoke screen, something to distract him, keep him from focusing his energy on the right trail, but he can't just dismiss it offhand either. the atroma is good, he'll give them that. they're very good. ]
I'd start looking around communications, that's those panels over there - [ he nods towards them. ] it's alien tech so I can't really tell you what should be there but - try looking for something that doesn't belong, something that slightly sticks out, something that seems to have a different composition than the rest of the panel. If that doesn't work my best suggestion is we go take a look at one of the ones found or we rip out the paneling and start digging manually.

[Even in Exsilium, he could make the pads work but not understand if they were acting irregular or not. He's good at hitting things very hard and making things very dead. That's pretty much it. ]
I do not understand why anyone would be surprised by these existing. Nor would I be surprised if we have one of our own. The entire point of this debacle is that we are being observed for the entertainment of others, correct? Be it Atroma or someone else, we're already being observed.

[ He looked to Fenris now. ]
The point is that this device can jam us - that means no communications in or out. If our ship becomes distressed, there might not be a way to get out an S.O.S. and get help. These ships are not designed, in my opinion, to last overly long away from the Fleet. We could be in serious trouble if something happened and we couldn't get help. Not to mention - what if this isn't Atroma's doing? Who else has a vested interest, and why? It's never good when something gets snuck on the ship, and I am not taking chances.
That being said - once Winn's disabled the device and we've done as much of an examination on it as we can, I want you to get your favorite sword and smash it. Just try not to scratch the floor to much.

If that's the objective, we need to check the shuttles, too. If this is meant to strand us, there'll be a kill switch on them too.

[And this is where Fenris' seniority helps a little. He's not used to being the one in the group to actually be able to offer helpful information. There's a first time for everything, he supposes. ]
There are others who have an interest in us. A group which have attacked the Fleet on two occasions now. The first they were fended off, with quite some damage to all the ships, how much depending on if they had shields, or the ability to fight back. The second time, they pushed us into a nebula, where we all lost power for a short time- which caused a few malfunctions to ships and augments for a while after that.
What is strange is when we were at our most helpless, they just...left. We have seen nothing of them since. It's been almost a year.

While Kara is locating it then, you and I will check the shuttles. Just in case.
Fenris, you know how to watch the monitors, right? All of this has me on edge, and I would prefer someone on the look out for something like that, no matter how remote the possibility of it happening. At least until we find the thing and shut it down.
Everyone clear on their roles?

[ and unless there's something else, she'll head out ]

not yet, anyway.
but he'll explore that problem later. right now, he's clear on his role. go check out the shuttles with jim.
nodding, he picks up his tools, and like kara unless there's something else - he'll head to check out the shuttles. ]

I'll let you know if I see any changes.

Winn, dig up anything you can. We mostly have reports from other ships, so I'm not expecting much, but the more information the better. I'll do the same so we can tackle this thing quick when Kara finds it.
Everyone be prepared to convene on Kara's location when she locates it.
