[Cue Ochako setting the communicator up and bouncing back, waving like it's some kind of peppy vlog. Cheers, everyone!]

Back to space we go! I don't know about everybody else, but I'll be glad that I don't have to keep wringing my clothes out all the time.

Anyway! That's not the point of this! While we're here, I was thinking... we've got a lot of kids with special abilities around here now, don't we? Or even just kids who wanna get stronger. The fleet is mostly safe, but sometimes things happen, and... well! Everyone benefits when we know what we're doing, right? Right!

Okay, so for everybody who doesn't know him, my teacher, Aizawa-sensei, is here! He's kind of a recluse so you probably wouldn't think it but he's really strong, and his teaching skills are top-notch! Back home, he's my homeroom teacher at the best heroics school in the world! He knows what's what. I bet he could teach anyone.

I was thinking, wouldn't it be nice to have a school here? Not just for superpowers, though I think that sort of thing is important... but I've never been out of school this long in my life. I feel like I'm getting dumber by the day. And it could be fun! We could make a classroom on the Iskaulit, we could get books and put together a real class and- oh, uniforms! We could get uniforms if we wanted!

[Ochako starts off on the Starstruck, taking care of her various chores while she covers responses, but at some point she'll venture over to the Iskaulit, poking around some of the rooms - both existing and unclaimed - to scout out what space is free in the vicinity of the library. She's humming to herself some upbeat song, visibly and very obviously in a good mood.]

If you still need a science teacher, I could help. I've been tutoring one of my crewmates, but I think it'll be good for her to learn in a group.

Sure, why not? Ah, and you should tell her to come too, for sure!

[everyone volunteer!! aizawa can veto the unqualified, probably.]

Of course. I'll be sure to let her know.

[He pauses,] I'm a medical student back home. Biology and chemistry's what I know best, but I'm not half-bad at literature or any sort of language classes.

Oh, that would be good! Science is pretty important. I'll pass your name along. You're, um... Mr. Stefan, right? With the interfaith center?

That's right. [ A hint of pride colors his voice, too. ] It's good to meet you, Miss - um, I'm sorry. I don't think I caught your name?

Uraraka Ochako! It's nice to meet you.

Well, Ochako, I hope your school idea is successful. I know it'd certainly help when we're in-between planets, or just - stuck somewhere most people don't want to be.

Yeah, for sure! It's important for people in weird situations to do something normal, right? And going to school is just about as normal as it gets.

Exactly. You were in high school before you came, right? I was in school too - but at least I can learn medicine as I go.

Oh, like college or something? Were you gonna be a doctor?

Still am, technically. Aunt Beverly - Dr. Crusher has been catching me up to speed, so I can learn despite, you know, not being at school.

That makes sense. Sort of like going to your own private doctor school. Learning directly from the source! We do that with the pro heroes back home.

Yeah? Until I got here, I didn't even know people went to school for superhero stuff.

Uh-huh! It's normal where I come from. Not everybody does, but there are enough heroes in the world that it's a legitimate career!

Really? But don't most superheroes have secret identities to worry about?

Secret identity? Um, not really, not for a long time now. Quirks are registered at birth or whenever they develop, and heroism is such a lucrative job... if you hid who you were, how would you get paid or sell merchandise?

Most of the people who hide their identity are villains, or sometimes vigilantes.

Usually? The heroes back home weren't trying to get paid. They saved people because no one else could - and the government wasn't exactly their biggest fan.

[ He'd know. He used to have a superhero for a roommate. ]

Huh... yeah, that sounds like a vigilante. It's against the law to perform heroic duties without a license, technically, but that's really rare. If it's something you're really passionate about, it doesn't make sense to do it that way when you can work within the law and make it a real career out of it, right?

Right. [ He tilts his head. Note to self: never introduce this one to his ex-roommate or Kate Bishop. ] Then again, our world didn't have licenses or even any awareness of what superpowers are, outside of like, comic books.

If it's that common in your world, then it makes sense to have it all regulated.

Oh, for sure! I mean, back when it first got started, there were a lot more vigilantes! That's the whole reason that Quirk registration became so important. The government didn't want people to get hurt in the crossfire when untrained heroes were fighting.

[It's so happily naive now that it's an established system that works.]

["Or maybe the government wanted to know exactly who was hurting people."

It's not an important distinction now, given that the worlds are watching and secrecy is a moot point, but... the idea troubles Stefan. He nods, pressing his lips together. ] I see.

So you register yourself, you follow the guidelines, and... that's it? You're free to save people however you can?

Oh gosh, if it was that easy...!

[She's laughing, but it's that sort of "are you crazy" laugh because that makes it sound so simple.]

Hey, in your world, people go to school to be police officers, right? They get training for it, get a badge, assignments to an office, and they have their own rules and such... and they're paid by whatever city they work in to protect people. Is that how it works?

More or less. So cops and people with "quirks," they've got the same sort of system in place?

[ While it makes sense, it also doesn't sit well for Stefan. If such a system existed, he would've been outed as a vampire a long, long time ago. ]

Uh-huh. Heroes who are licensed can set up an office in a city, and they're subject to that city's rules. They collaborate with the local police in catching criminals and are paid for the work they do. They can also be charged for causing too much damage to the city if they're not careful.

Oh, but not everyone with Quirks become heroes! Most people in the world have Quirks these days.
