Calibration Post 1, "Daytime"

[ Not long after the shuffle, there's a ripple of static over the network - loud, sudden, and seemingly with no origin. It's puzzling, but there's no indication that it's going to happen again...

Until a minute later. Another surge of static comes in over the speakers, and then a voice - one some may find familiar, though not necessarily welcome, after all of this time... It's Diamond. Long time no speak, hmm?

Clearly, not all is well. She sounds very far away, for one. For another, she sounds... skeptical, almost alarmed. There may actually be real concern in her voice. ]

Again? Twice in one c--

[ Her sentence is cut short with a strangled gasp, followed by a moment of silence. What follows may be the sound of metal dragged across metal, but it's hard to place. When she speaks again, it's uncharacteristically monotonous. ]

... Bring them in.

[ A blip of lost time passes right after those words, before every passenger mysteriously wakes alone in their own unfamiliar room. The style of decor resembles that of the Marsiva's Hospitality Deck, if any passengers should remember what that's like. It sounds and smells the same as the host ship as well, all clean and chrome, but this set of rooms has only been used once, and for the very same purpose that befalls the fleet contestants now.

As for their hosts, there is no immediate sign of them, though some may recall a series of hideous, half-electronic screams before their memories begin to blur upon arrival...

Welcome back to the Marsiva, dear passengers. It's time for round two of calibrations. ]

[ This mingle will cover all non-calibration room interactions. Please continue to come back to it for the duration of the plot! You are, of course, free to post any other mingles/posts/etc. that you'd like. ]

[Worf suddenly felt consciousness pull him back to reality when he awoke. Yet, it wasn't his reality he was facing, as he stared around at the unfamiliar room and felt the bed he was currently sitting on. What was going on? Had he been taken hostage by some alien race? Why wasn't he aboard his hard bed back on the Defiant?

Groaning slightly, he reached for his comm badge and realised that he was gone. Damn. No way of contacting Deep Space Nine now. He would have to search for signs of life and demand an explanation as to why he was here. Wherever here was. It seemed like a ship of some kind, as he could feel the vibrations throughout the structure; the low hum of an engine. He wasn't on a planet then at least.

Unbeknown to him, he had awoken on the good ship Marsiva. Worf didn't react well to change and kidnap or being taken hostage and would only seek to aggravate him more. Did he have any weapons on him? The thought flashed through his mind when he reached behind him for his Mak'leth. They were gone. Along with his comm badge. So, he was naked. Martial arts it would have to be then. A Klingon was never defenceless as long as he had his honour and strength with him.]

Where am I?

[He muttered under his breath, as he stepped out into a corridor and began to explore slightly.]

[By now, Ezri has gotten used to navigating the Marsiva each day and knows where each room is. For now, with the visits to her own "room" each night, she'd mostly just been keeping to herself in the hopes of avoiding too many questions about the Dax's.

Not that she could avoid it forever.

She's heading down the hall from her own room, dressed in more casual clothes she'd found in their last system (and was thankfully not as punk rock as seemed the trend there) rather than a Starfleet uniform. So she may not be immediately noticeable, and almost bump into the klingon, forcing her to look up.]

Worf! [Wait.

That's not right. She frowns and pulls her communicator from her pocket, looking through the list of fleet members. Finding his name suddenly added, she sighs and mutters a 'damn.']

They got you too.

[Worf stopped in his tracks when he heard a woman's voice call out to him down the corridor. She nearly bumped into him at speed carrying what seemed to be some kind of communicator. Who was she and how did she know his name?]

Who are you? What am I doing aboard this ship?

[He wondered what she meant by "they got you too." Who were "they?"]

How do you know my name? I do not know you, yet you seem to know me.
musicalhost: (hopeful)

[personal profile] musicalhost 2017-06-18 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
You don't know me?

[Impulse has her asking but memories stop her in her tracks. It's almost like when she first came to the station. Everyone confused, Jake announcing who she was on the Promenande.]

My name is Ezri. I'm the counselor on Deep Space Nine.

[This has happened before. Beverly had been a couple years behind her in terms of time in their... universe? Galaxy?]
sonof_mogh: (interested)

[personal profile] sonof_mogh 2017-06-20 10:21 am (UTC)(link)
I am afraid I do not. Your face is unfamiliar to me.

[It was maddening. She knew him but he didn't know her. Why?]

We do not have a counsellor on the station right now. I do not know of one if there is one.

[Since, he sort of doesn't visit them and has no idea about them anyway.]

When did you arrive to the station?

[personal profile] musicalhost 2017-06-20 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
About six months ago, if we go by the popular assumption time freezes back home. The year 2375. With the Dominion War ongoing, he thought a counselor on the station would be beneficial.

[Not mentioning the other reasons she wanted her on the station. Some of which she caved to.]

[Now this is someone Sokka does recognise. Not from ever seeing him in person, of course, but from the last calibrations. He was in Beverly's memories, and Sokka has learned quite a few things about the Kinglon since then. He grins walking over. Okay, must be careful, Beverly said his people were kinda...fighty. ]

Oh. Hi! I'm Sokka, and this is...well, currently you're on the Marsiva, you've been kidnapped by a group of people called Atroma. We all have.

[Oh myyyyyy it's really Worf!!!! He's inwardly squeeing. ]
sonof_mogh: (pissed)

[personal profile] sonof_mogh 2017-06-18 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
[The young man seemed quite brash about who he was and what was going on. Worf narrowed his eyes as he spoke.]

The Marsiva. The name is this ship? Who are these...Atroma and what do they want with us? Are you a captive aboard here too?

[So many questions and Worf was finding it all rather confusing. Atroma? Were that the name of the species of his captors? Were they alien? Worf had no idea, yet the boy seemed eager to help him.]
alwayscomeback: (Oh let me go)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2017-06-18 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[So awesome, so commanding!!!! ]

That's the name of this ship, yeah. It's like...a mothership, I guess. All our ships follow it, and this is where new arrivals turn up. People are usually moved onto their own ship, still Atroma controlled, but a little less by the end of the week. Things are a little...uh, different right now. And yeah, I'm captive too.

[personal profile] sonof_mogh 2017-06-20 10:22 am (UTC)(link)
[He is that and rather....big too.]

Interesting. A large ship with smaller ones in tow. Tell me, what are these Atroma like?

[Observe your enemy, right? Worf wanted to deal with these gutless cowards one way or another. A Mek'leth to the throat perhaps?]
alwayscomeback: (And all the faults you've left behind)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2017-06-21 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sokka gives an annoyed scoff. ]

You can't ever believe what they tell you- when they tell you anything at all. They're pretty spiteful, too. They'll do anything to anyone if it gives them better ratings.
passingthrough: (Watchful - Calm)

Oh, just noticed you here!

[personal profile] passingthrough 2017-06-20 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[Kitty is leaning against the door marked "Katherine Pryde" flipping through the network on her communicator when she sees a door open down the hall. She pauses when she realizes she doesn't recognize him.]

Hey. [Giving him a nod and wondering just how new that makes him.]
sonof_mogh: (dishonoured)

Re: hello!

[personal profile] sonof_mogh 2017-06-20 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[Worf noticed the woman and found himself wondering just how many humans there might be aboard the ship. She certainly seemed human, judging by her appearance and the way she spoke. The Klingon wasn't the best at introductions with strangers so just offered her a nod.]

Well met. My name is Lieutenant Commander Worf. Do you know what is going on around here? Why I woke up not knowing why I was brought here?
passingthrough: (Curious - Interested)

Hi!

[personal profile] passingthrough 2017-06-20 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[Who are you calling human? Okay, fine, she's from Earth with human parents. It's debatable.]

Huh. I think I know that name. [She's trying to remember who mentioned it. She's been pretty close with Data—in her last abduction—and Pavel in, well, both abductions.] Are you from one of the Enterprises?

And, yeah, I know the things. More or less. I'm Kitty.

Re: Q'plah!

[personal profile] sonof_mogh 2017-06-20 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[You look human to him, Kitty and he knows quite a few of them, even if some do irritate him more than others. Not as much as Ferrangi annoy him though.]

I am from the Enterprise D with Captain Picard. That was a few years ago now, since I have been living aboard Deep Space Nine for over a year now.

[Had it really been over a year? It seemed time had flown faster than he thought. What with the Dominion and everything else kicking off.]

The....things? What kind of things?
passingthrough: (Curious - Wondering)

[personal profile] passingthrough 2017-06-20 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Fair. Fair.]

Data must have mentioned you then or Beverly. [She was pretty sure if it was Ezri it would be fresher in her mind.] They aren't here now though.

[Yeah, sorry, this isn't very clear, is it? Okay, she'll work on that.]

Okay, so, you're on the Marsiva. It's one ship in a fleet of ships controlled by the Atroma. We know very little about them. They bring people here from across the multiverse—different points in time too—so we can be entertaining on their reality show. I've been here for about a year and a half. Normally, we only arrive on the Marsiva and then get shuffled off to the ships they assign us to where we have more freedom and autonomy while still very much being prisoners, but you showed up during calibrations which is even stranger than everything else I just mentioned. Anyway, it's the reason we're all on the Marsiva at the moment with our own little cubical homes.

[And that was a lot. She'll just let it sink in. On the plus side, she figures he'll get all the basic themes since he's from Data's world. It takes forever to explain this stuff to people from old timey worlds.]
