#004 [Accidental Video]

[it appears that the atroma is tired of one of its star ratings-grabbers not doing a damn thing. for the entire duration of april, hiro was fixing ships and running jobs for parts. for the month of may, he's been using those parts. he's currently working with black paint of some sort, with music playing from seemingly nowhere (looks like the sound system he kept talking about got completed).

[if you haven't sought him out, and you're not regularly training him, hiro's been completely radio silent while he's been working. in fact, he hasn't even answered text messages in a couple days.

[when he finishes coating the surface he's working on in the paint, he lowers the mask he's wearing and sighs, wiping (and smearing paint on) his forehead. he looks like a mess.

[but hey, at least he's alive!]

Oh, hey. I'm just putting the final touches on the hyper-composting bin.

A hyper-composting bin...? What's that?

It's gonna compost for all the plants we have growing, make fertilizer. I'm using pressurizing and humidity controls to make it go faster, it usually takes three to six months.

So, in other words...it's a machine that makes things rot quicker?

[He considers it]

That's actually...rather clever. Have you been working on it all this time?

[everydayhero]

Once I got the sound system done, yeah. But that didn't take long.

[he runs his fingers through his hair.]

I'm almost done with it, and I've been working on the docking bay lock in my downtime.

Ha...sounds like you've been keeping yourself busy.

Well, yeah, I had a lot to do before the fleet was hit. Makin' up for lost time.

And...have you been out at all since we got to this system?

Oh, uh--no. I haven't really had the time. Where are we, anyway?

[....Hiro....]

We're at a place called Road to Riches. It's...sort of like a space version of Los Vegas.

... what? Oh, man, I gotta get out there. Is it just gambling? What're the prizes?

Ha- there's all sorts of things! Shops, casinos, something called a "laser show". [no idea what that is, but he's guessing Hiro is someone who likes lasers]

As for prizes....money, food, electronics, some things from home...I got Timcanpy!

[everydayhero]

A laser show?!

[yeah that's exciting]

What kind of food and electronics?--wait, you got Timcanpy? Show me!

Mm! That's what I heard! I haven't seen it yet.

[He gives a laugh]

Alright! [Calling off screen] Timcanpy! Over here! [He holds up his arm, and there's a fluttering sound before Timcanpy flies into view and lands on his arm, not noticing the screen quite yet. Right now, his body looks to be the size of a softball]

--whoa! That's him?!

[look how impressed he is he's amazed]

Hey, buddy! I'm Hiro!

[Allen is completely grinning as he nudges Tim to look at the screen]

Tim, I want you to meet a friend of mine.

[Tim turns to look at the screen-!]

[And then completely freezes when he sees the boy on the screen, with his wings shooting straight up in surprise. And he seems to do that for a good couple seconds]

[When those seconds past, he almost seems to wibble as he suddenly flies straight at Hiro- except he forgets Hiro is just on a screen, so he just flies straight into the screen and bounces off it]

[And considering Allen's surprise, he was not expecting this reaction]

Ah- Timcanpy!? What's gotten into you!?

Whoa! What was that?

[HE LOOKS SURPRISED]

Is he okay?!

I don't know! He usually doesn't act this way with new people!

[Effing weird man. He bends over to scoop Tim up, who seems a bit dazed and CONFUSED!!]

I think he'll be alright...he's just a little dazed. I don't think he realised you were on a screen.

[he looks so concerned]

Maybe I should come meet him in person sometime. He can come with us when I make you go to the laser show with me.

[save_the_souls]

[He gently poking at Tim to get him out of his dazed stupor. Too bad you can't talk Tim, because that was so weird of you. But Tim seems to snap out of it, and seem well...embarrassed of himself as he climbs back to Allen's shoulder and half hides himself into Allen's hair, while half watching the screen intently (or at least that seems to be doing)]

I'm...sure he'd like that! [giving Tim a slight concerned look]

- Wait, you're making me go to the laser show?

[how strange, tim...]

Uhh, yeah? You haven't been. You're going.

[save_the_souls]

[...He sighs, but at least it looks like he's smiling]

Well, I suppose I do have time to kill until my crew gets back from the planet.
