[ On the night of the 16th, the feeling of tension and horrid anticipation comes to a head. Everything stops when the sun goes down-- even the ever-present music in the hoppingest part of the city center. One by one, everyone turns their eyes to the skies. The young and old alike pour out of their houses, some in bare feet, and they point to the velvety blanket of stars.

It takes a second to find it, especially if one is unaccustomed to the starscape. But even a casual observer can see it.

A brightly-shining star, larger than the others, and growing larger.

An announcement cuts across all communication channels that encourages people to evacuate to the space station, but it’s clear that these are just people and they’ll need some help. Supplies, equipment, organization, there’s something for everyone to do.

Civilization is disrupted by a panicked stampede of people vying for limited seats aboard spacefaring craft. Within hours, there will be crushed glass, looting, and chaos.

The clock is ticking. Will you help? Or would you rather watch the dying gasps of a Singing Planet from a safe distance? ]

Who: Looma Red Wind
Broadcast: Audio; fleetwide
Action: Those aboard the Bishop; later, planetside
When: Backdated to the morning of the 10th

[Sent via the ship's intercom, and Audio to any member of the crew off-ship]

This is your captain. Based on what I have been able to gather from the Fleet's last encounters with these "singing planets" and the most recent case of enemy action, all crew members are to report planetside to the attached coordinates in twelve hours time.

You will be improving your familiarity with your assigned weapons. Those who lack training in close combat will be given an introductory course to better ensure their survival in the even of another attack. Rick Grimes will oversee your training, I will supervise and assist where able.

It is likely we will encounter hostilities in the near future. This is for your own safety, as I may not be able to personally intervene should you find yourself threatened. While I cannot compel everyone to attend, know that I can make your rescue a lower priority than those who bothered to present themselves for instruction.

[Audio: Transmitted to everyone else, via the Fleet's network]

This is Captain Looma Red Wind. By now, I am certain many of you are aware of these dreams we have been having, and the potential danger we may encounter on this planet as a result. I am also aware that many of you are not used to combat, or simply not accustomed to the use of the weapons available to you.

Any who wish for assistance in this matter- or who simply wish to resume their own training- are to report to the attached coordinates on the planet below in twelve hours time. Rick Grimes and I will be overseeing firearms instruction, as well as some manner of close combat training for those who have never seen battle. Depart early, as this will be some distance from the city, to avoid alarming the locals.

Additional assistance in munitions or personal combat training from experienced members of the fleet will be welcomed.

If your ship lacks an armory, or you are for any reason denied access to it, I will be bringing along the contents of the Bishop's armory and will permit their use when available.

[True to her word, attached are a set of coordinates for an area roughly 15 minutes outside the city proper. Partly because she was told that if she was going to do this at all, it needed to be far away from the civilian population- and partly because she did not want to risk anyone showing up to scream about whatever bad omens were associated with the color red, the number 4, and whatever other nonsense this superstitious bunch was capable of imagining.]

Right, I need to take some inventory: there was a greenhouse on the Iskaulit that held some medicinal herbs, if anyone knows, has it been maintained? [Maker knew if Hermione were still around, he'd really had yet to even check who was still around.] And, similarly, there was a smaller herb garden in the cargo bay of the Twin Roses, is that still there?

[He pauses as something occurs to him and he gives a wry smirk.] And, in my haste, I shouldn't be so rude, my apologies. I am Anders, a healer from Thedas. I imagine my store of potions from before is long gone, I intend to get started on more. If anyone has need of any potion in particular, please feel free to speak up, I'm more than willing to make whatever it might be.

Suddenly, the SS Three Twins and the SS Windrose begin to move on their own... slowly, calmly, they drift to into the same direction, away from the other ships of the fleet. Slowly, they move until they side by side.

Over the two ships' intercom, an old song begins to play. And that is all the warning there is before the engines engage -- full speed ahead.

Like a pair of rockets, the ships torpedo forward. As they move, they start circling around each other, like a synchronized dance. They move with incredible grace and skill, far more masterfully than the average pilot augment. Except, each time that they pass each other, they clearly get closer to one another.

And closer...

And closer...

No matter what buttons the crews press, no matter how much they might panic, nothing is going to stop the inevitable. On the final pass, it becomes clear there's not enough room between them to avoid a collision. Any impact alarms on the bridge are blaring at full blast. Any other ships watching will not have time to attempt any sort of interception.

As if to shield spectators' eyes from the horrors of ships colliding in space, there's a blinding light upon impact -- and once it gradually fades, the results can be clearly seen by all: There is no wreckage. Nothing is broken. But where there were once two ships... now there's only one.

One ship that is looks completely new, but yet is reminiscent of both the SS Three Twins and the SS Windrose.

On the bridge, the crews of the SS Three Twins and the SS Windrose arrive, along with the usual pop! of Atroma confetti and ridiculous jingle music upon a successful shuffle. Sitting in the captain's chair is a round cake, just large enough for everyone to have one slice. There's a single candle, and the following message scribbled on top in yellow icing:

"Congratulations - SS Twin Roses!
Happy Fusion!"

Action: Three Twins, if you feel so inclined
When: Now

[A boy seems to have gotten his hands on a communicator. The way he holds it is a little awkward at first, the camera too close to his bright amber eyes, offering a clear view of the minefield of freckles splattered across his cheeks and nose.]

I don't think I'm doing this right...

[His voice is as light as his bright eyes and bright gold hair, but with that occasional crackle that betrays puberty is lying in wait for the pre-teen. A hand can very briefly be seen reaching for the device, but a nauseating burst of movement changes the view as a now-young Anders dances away from his would-be help.]

No, no! I can figure it out!

[The camera rights itself and a very brief flash of Adalwolfe Hawke can be caught in the background as the camera is finally righted, displaying the boy's big toothy grin as he seems to settle in to wait for the magical people who might be about to talk to him.]

So I just wait here, right? And there's people who can hear and see me and I can hear and see them?? Andraste! This is so neat!

[He's clearly very excited and eager to see what sort of magic this weird device has.

But the broadcast is briefly interrupted, unbeknownst to the original poster.]

--Filtered, hacked off of Anders' signal--

[Once Anders is finished, there’s static for a second while Adalwolfe hijacks the channel, making sure to lock Anders out of seeing this part of the message. He looks around surreptitiously before getting quite close to the camera, looking quite a bit more anxious than he did after the bandit attack.]

Alright, look, Aiden here is Anders, and I don’t mean from the Anderfels, I mean the healer Anders. Only he doesn’t know he’s a mage yet at this age and if any of you tell him he’s going to grow up to be one, I will personally come to your cabin when you’re asleep and freeze you solidly to your bunk.

[He starts to tick things off on his fingers.]

Other ground rules include not telling him basically anything about the more grisly parts of his future. Mentions of the Kinloch, the Broodmother, Justice, Kirkwall, or any of that are off limits. Though I guess you can say he’s going to be a Warden in a vague sort of way. He might like that part. Just leave out what it entails if you would.

[That part is aimed mostly at Riona because she’s probably the only person who that would come up with, being a Warden and Anders’ Commander, but it’s a good rule of thumb generally.]

Calling him Anders - because frankly it’s a bit rude to call him by nationality when he hasn’t adopted it as a name yet and he’s going to think you’re an ass. That one’s not really imperative, just a general warning.

[He puts up another finger.]

Mentioning that he has a panacea aura on because, as I said, he doesn’t know he’s a mage yet and frankly that is a panic reaction he doesn’t need to have after already having had to live that nightmare once.

[He very much doesn’t want to elaborate on that.]

If anyone breaks these ground rules, or if any harm comes to him when he’s vulnerable like this, there will be… consequences.

[Much worse than freezing people to bunks, he can assure you. He’s nowhere in the vicinity of fucking around.]

If you have any questions then contact me privately, but just know that in this case I am his keeper and I will keep him safe from harm and distress, make no mistake. You’ve all been warned.

Today marks one year since she arrived in the fleet.

A lot of emotions come with it, ones she struggles with throughout the rest of the day. It's what eventually drives her to the Iskaulit, fighting with her thoughts as Kiter meanders alongside of her, enjoying the exercise. Riona finally decides to maybe try the network and get her thoughts out that way, rather than just mulling over them.]

I find myself observing the one year mark of my arrival to the fleet. [She falls quiet a moment, lips quirked to one side.] It's been quite a year. To those who have observed this anniversary for themselves: did you find yourselves feeling rather mixed about the whole thing? Personally, I can't quite figure out how I feel about it, quite honestly.

Maybe I should simply accept that, that there aren't going to be much in the way of words. [A huff.] Maybe what I need more than anything is a distraction. I've spent the better part of the day chewing it all over in my mind. If anyone has an idea for such, I welcome suggestions. It seems time passed much more quickly while I was asleep. It felt as if I had returned home again and time had passed there as it normally does here. Two years passed there while it feels as if no time has passed here at all.

I used to give people tips on how to feel better about it, and it used to work for me, too, back when I was in the Drabwurld and there was a war to focus on. I would go and look in the library, but I can't imagine there's much of a help section there - dreadful, honestly - so.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to cheer yourself up, I'd be glad to hear it.

You are cordially invited to Cisco and Winn's Not-Too-Terrifying Halloween Costume Party!

Who: everyone ( yes, you too!)
Broadcast: N/A
Action: aboard the Iskaulit!
When: current

[ on the night of the 28th, the lecture hall will open its gates though it'll look remarkably different. Winn and Cisco would have decorated the corridors leading to it with Jack-o'-lanterns made from the pumpkins gathered at the little patch on the planet. The hall itself will be similarly decorated, along with other traditional scary Halloween decorations made from paper and fabric ( don't ruin the little paper spiders, they took hours to make! ). There will be music from various times of Earth-1 and Earth-3, so don't be surprised to find Lady Gaga playing alongside the Spice Girls! Feel free to make requests or otherwise, just show your skills on the dance floor!

There will be a bar run by Nami offering free sodas, though you'll have to pay for your own alcohol ( remember, don't drink and fly! ). Alongside the bar, characters will find a few tables offering candy from Earth-1 won by Cisco at the game room with a little sign reading TAKE ONE, LEAVE SOME FOR OTHERS and quite a lot of space chips and protein dips as well as various candy from all over the different planets ( cleverly hoarded by Winn! ) and a large selection of pumpkin pies and pumpkin treats. Characters will also find a line leading to Cisco's trusty ice cream machine, though it'll only offer peanut butter flavored sorbet.

At the corner of the hall there will be a karaoke machine with a little sign-up sheet. Characters could sign up solo or in groups and list the song they'd like to sing. Keep in mind though, the entire hall will be able to hear your rendition of Sexy and I Know it!

Adventure-seeking characters will be able to follow signs reading HAUNTED HOUSE and reach a large hall that was turned into a maze by large cardboard blocks painted black or covered by dark fabrics. Making it out of the maze won't be too hard and the maze itself won't be too frightening but will be mildly startling. It'll include some nifty engineered animatronics of witches, scarecrows, scary clowns and skeletons as well as holograms of ghosts! The song featured in the invitation will also be heard here, on repeat. It's a good break from the dancing and for some private conversations and moments.

Remember, costume are mandatory! you don't want to be caught by tonight's pumpkin kings, do you? ]

[It hadn't been his first thought to go to the bar. Not even fourth or fifth, but it had popped up eventually. When everything became too much all at once. His clinic was too quiet despite not changing, he was too vulnerable despite not being in any danger. Everything had changed and he hadn't even considered how much until Justice was gone.

Anders went to the only place he could think to go. True, the Space Bar might be a better environment for noise, but Fenris was exactly the last person he wanted to accidentally run into tonight, so Crowley's bar it was. The sound of other people was helpful, at least. And the first drink he basically inhaled helped more. It made it easier to ignore how that persistent hum at the back of his mind was gone, how there wasn't a flux and flow of emotions not quite his own always licking at the edges of his thoughts, how there was only one set of feelings and opinions about everything now left in his head. He'd foolishly tested, half hoping to feel the burst of righteous anger and power as his thoughts drifted to blood magic and the plight of mages and every damn other thing he'd spent the last ten years fighting for. was like it had been someone else's problem. Someone else's fight. Like before.

He didn't like it.

He ordered another drink.]

Something strong this time. If it burns my taste-buds into ash, even better.

[There's a side-effect to drinking. One he hadn't had to deal with in roughly a decade. But, oh, was he dealing with it now. And every time he tried to send a pulse of healing magic into his own head, the hangover he was nursing would just pulse brighter and pang harder and make him think maybe a broodmother would be a blessing right now. It could kill him viciously and in some disgusting way and it would be far kinder than what his head was doing to him.

Perhaps Justice had been doing him a kindness all those years after all. Maker have mercy.

He turned on the broadcast, clumsily hitting video and then voice so a flicker of his disheveled and pathetic appearance can be seen to those who happen to be looking at the time, but then it's gone again and replaced with his voice. Which wasn't really in any better shape.]

Does anyone have any...faster ways with dealing with hangovers? I'd normally take care of it myself but...well, I can't. And thinking isn't too easy right now, so any help would be appreciated. Smartass comments are not, however. Thanks.

When: Nowish/Soonish

[He was nervous. There were a hundred things to be nervous about, but he'd found an extra fifty to add to it on his way to the room they'd chosen. He'd found it on his way back from the greenhouse last week, not a huge space in the grand scheme of things, but secluded enough that should something happen with Justice...well, there would be time to stop them if they lost themselves.

He'd spent the day checking and double checking that everything was in order. The dog and cat were fine, the plants now in Hawke's old room would be fine, everything else would sort itself out...just in case. That seemed to be the strongest thought in his head right now. He couldn't think too hard on what if it didn't work or what if it went wrong for some reason Allen couldn't know about and Justice died or, Maker forbid, got worse.

Not for the first time, he wished he could talk to his friend again, they way they'd done years past. Anders missed him, missed the way they'd been. Even now, he supposed, they wouldn't have that chance. Maker willing, Justice would go back to the Fade where he never should have left and Anders would stay here. He just wished he could voice his concerns and fears and thoughts to someone who'd truly understand what the twist in his chest choking him meant, what those doubts on the edges of his mind might be whispering, what fears seeped into the thin hope he clung to. Maker, let this work. For Justice's sake, let him finally be free and saved.

Anders was even more quiet than usual on his way over with Hawke and when he saw Riona and Allen join them, he offered a smile that felt as thin as every other good feeling he was trying to muster.]

[Aboard the Blue Fish, Leliana seems to have found herself a nice space in the kitchen with a bowl of food, a pen, and some paper in front of her as she scribbles here and there, giving pause only to address the network.]

I am curious - I've seen others on the network speak of their own history and stories from their homes, but I can't imagine many tales of Thedas's history are floating about, no? Not unless Riona or Varric spoke of them. I have a few favorites if any would like to hear them. Telling stories is a way to pass the time while feeding curiosity and knowledge.

[Leliana smiles, twirling her pen in between her fingers as Schmooples' ears make a cameo from her lap as he tries to play with the broach holding her cowl about her shoulders.]

I have heard tales of valor and tragedy and some have a bit of both. Those are often my favorite stories, truthfully. One of them is about a brilliant woman called Aveline!

Story time from the bard )

[Leliana's eyes alight, she sets her pen down and waits a moment before speaking again - a story like that deserved a dramatic pause, after all.]

In Orlais, legends like that give way to song and even more dramatic tellings. Just thinking about it has me writing again. I haven't done much singing of late, myself. If anyone knows where I might find a proper lute I'd love to get my hands on one sometime. I've got a song I'm working on and it needs music to accompany it, no? That all aside - I haven't introduced myself on the network in a time or two. Should anyone wish to seek me out: I am called Sister Leliana and often times you can find me aboard the Blue Fish or in the Interfaith Center.

[Of course she's careful to omit the mention of her life as a Bard. That just opens a can of worms she's fine keeping shut to anyone who isn't already aware of her past.]
