Who: Fie Claussell & You
Broadcast: Yes
Action: On Planet and/or Iskaulit
When: September 17th, early afternoon

[Since the news of impending doom's spread, Fleeters are doing their best (or okayest) to get citizens off the planet, and Fie's doing some work of her own. A random planet dweller here or there is fine, but her focus is mostly elsewhere. Since she's limited in her abilities right now--thanks lack of ARCUS quartz-- she sticks to what she can deal with well: plants.

Anyone on the planet or aboard the Iskaulit for a period of extended time, might notice Fie popping in and out with different bundles of supplies each time. Eventually, on the planet, she stops to sit somewhere (hopefully) out of the way to address her concerns.]

I've gathered as many plant samples and seeds as I can find for now, and I've temorarily set them up on the garden on the Iskaulit. From what I saw of the farming here, we could likely set it up on a few of the bigger ships, but the machine parts are sizable-- too big for several normal humans to carry comfortably. Maybe disassembling it would be easier...

Is anyone free to help with that? Or are people already focused on it? If there's something organized already, I want to help.

[ On the night of the 16th, the feeling of tension and horrid anticipation comes to a head. Everything stops when the sun goes down-- even the ever-present music in the hoppingest part of the city center. One by one, everyone turns their eyes to the skies. The young and old alike pour out of their houses, some in bare feet, and they point to the velvety blanket of stars.

It takes a second to find it, especially if one is unaccustomed to the starscape. But even a casual observer can see it.

A brightly-shining star, larger than the others, and growing larger.

An announcement cuts across all communication channels that encourages people to evacuate to the space station, but it’s clear that these are just people and they’ll need some help. Supplies, equipment, organization, there’s something for everyone to do.

Civilization is disrupted by a panicked stampede of people vying for limited seats aboard spacefaring craft. Within hours, there will be crushed glass, looting, and chaos.

The clock is ticking. Will you help? Or would you rather watch the dying gasps of a Singing Planet from a safe distance? ]

When: 3rd Sept

[Makie hardly left her room before she fell asleep in it, after Calibrations.  She shuffles out now, though, sleepy and a little unsteady, which is all the giveaway for her to realise she's overslept again.  Seems to be a habit.  She makes herself a cup of tea, checks on her belongings to make sure they don't need maintenance.  When she finds out how much time has passed from her crew, well... that's enough for her to finally leave the ship.  Even mopey depressives can feel the need to stretch their legs.

She'll visit the gardens, check on the memory tree.  And finally, she finds the swimming pool.  Because it happens to have set up shop in the place she used to go to practice in private.  Huh.

Well, nobody can complain about her swimming now, can they?  One small problem, though...]

I'm looking for someone to teach me how to swim.  In exchange, I offer lessons either in music or swordsmanship.

[Take your pick.  There isn't likely to be a flood here; no children to save from the water.  But she'll return to Adstring eventually, won't she?]

When: a little while after Ochako's post asking for driving lessons

[ This started as Jayden answering Ochako's request for a driving instructor. And, you know, someone to help her get out of her upside-down vehicle. Bless. And it was going rather well! They went through some basics, got out of the parking lot and onto the road - a less busy road, of course.

And then, apparently, they picked up another kid! And a... slug?? Well, okay? But Jayden stuck to her teaching efforts even with the sudden addition of a backseat passenger. It... of course got derailed a little bit here and there, thanks to conversations, and shenanigans, and is that another pet oh my god what?? But hey! No big deal! Things are still rolling! Everything's okay! It's fine. This is fine. This... could be worse. Right? Right.

Oh boy.

Long story short, there is A Lot going on in this car right now, none of which Jayden was prepared for. But she's managing to keep her cool. For now. Lord knows she's just a few seconds away from pulling out her communicator and calling up Aizawa though. She might need some backup here...

At least Ochako's driving well enough! Jayden does verbally correct her on a few things here and there, and God bless the on-board computer for helping out if anything needs substantial correcting. Technology is great, when it's not turning you upside down and backwards for some unknown reason.

Ssssoooo... anybody I know have a license to fly those space cars? I want to learn how to drive one! But they said I have to be 18 to drive it alone, so I need an adult with me. I can get the autopilot versions, but, um. They kind of freak me out? ...Also they suck. They really, really suck.

[did I mention the video image shows the background around her looks like it's upside down? because it totally looks like it is.]

Anyway, let me know if you can help! It can't be that different from a shuttle, and I'm not bad with those! Thanks in advance.

( on the planet; )

[how much do the autopilot hovers suck? Ochako's gone and found out the hard way. she's rented one that is exceptionally glitchy- it really likes to fly upside down, which is why her broadcast looks so weird. This isn't such a terrible thing when your superpower is gravity-erasing, but she can only do that for so long before she loses her lunch, so over the course of the rental she might pass people by doing the following:

1) sitting in her seat, upside down, looking awfully green

2) dangling from her clipped seatbelt like it's a swing, legs kicking

3) carefully climbing down the seatbelt trying to reach the ground

She might need a little bit of help. That's if she doesn't straight-up collide with somebody first. Uh, duck?]

[ So. As far as Tommy's concerned, he's been born for this moment. For every hour Billy had him sit through the von Trapps caterwauling their way through their problems or whatever other corny classic shlock he was into, Tommy had retaliated with an hour of Big Brother and whatever other reality tv show trash had caught his eye.

So, being kidnapped from an impending disaster and being dropped into this seemed only a logical progression of fate. He figured that his mother would be there soon enough, ripping time and space asunder. So after grabbing a cup of pudding and giving a once-over of the ship, he knew what had to be done. Play along, roll with it, and hope that when the Scarlet Witch gets here she doesn't break the universe too hard.

Which leads him here. Stretched out, relaxed as can be. Might as well have some fun. He folds his arms behind his head, a playful smirk on his face. ]

Hello out there my soon to be loyal viewership. It's me - Tommy. But you can call me Speed if that's a little more your style. I'm honored to be part of this, clearly you received my audition tape and were as impressed with me as I am with all this. This is a total game-changer.

    [The screen is black.

There's quite a lot of shuffling; a sound of cardboard being knocked on or jostled around. Max's tell-tale hummmmmmm is heard. Footfalls. They walk in a circle around the mysterious box. Tap tap. It's suddenly clear: the video feed is inside a box! And slowly, with great caution, the man clearly identified by grumble as Max Rockatansky opens this cardboard box...

Only to have an explosion of confetti and whistles in his bewildered face.

He disappears from view for a moment, the sound of a gun cocking and going off, probably scaring any poor soul watching. The top of the box explodes with shotgun buckshot, and as he slowly wanders back over, his brow is furrowed and there's confetti on his head, in his facial fuzz. He slowly reaches down into the box... and pulls out a can of dog food. Dinki-Di's. His confusion is palpable. On the screen, where Max can't see, it flashes in bold, glittery letters:

The birthday theme plays on the loudspeakers.

And Max, realizing just what's happening, GROANS IN DISPLEASURE.

    For fuck's sake.

As he rips the little camera from inside a box filled with dog food cans:]

[... But you can find him later in the Starstruck cargo bay, spooning dog food from a can into his mouth.

Back to space we go! I don't know about everybody else, but I'll be glad that I don't have to keep wringing my clothes out all the time.

Anyway! That's not the point of this! While we're here, I was thinking... we've got a lot of kids with special abilities around here now, don't we? Or even just kids who wanna get stronger. The fleet is mostly safe, but sometimes things happen, and... well! Everyone benefits when we know what we're doing, right? Right!

Okay, so for everybody who doesn't know him, my teacher, Aizawa-sensei, is here! He's kind of a recluse so you probably wouldn't think it but he's really strong, and his teaching skills are top-notch! Back home, he's my homeroom teacher at the best heroics school in the world! He knows what's what. I bet he could teach anyone.

I was thinking, wouldn't it be nice to have a school here? Not just for superpowers, though I think that sort of thing is important... but I've never been out of school this long in my life. I feel like I'm getting dumber by the day. And it could be fun! We could make a classroom on the Iskaulit, we could get books and put together a real class and- oh, uniforms! We could get uniforms if we wanted!

    Anyone interested!?

[Ochako starts off on the Starstruck, taking care of her various chores while she covers responses, but at some point she'll venture over to the Iskaulit, poking around some of the rooms - both existing and unclaimed - to scout out what space is free in the vicinity of the library. But something feels off, off-balance like adjusting to a new crutch or being too cold, and it takes a bewildered flit through his communications device to see that he has apparently been out for weeks.

Eventually, he overcomes the jittery, dark feeling and ascends to the ship proper, retreating straight to the kitchen and setting to making something to eat. He makes extra by force of habit, and any crewmates who pop in will find a savory noodle dish in the works, the cook focused on chopping and mixing and seasoning various topping mixtures.

Food first. Then he can figure everything else out.]

    action - Iskaulit

[As it turns out, he can only cook for so long. The Marsiva isn't appreciably different, but he does take a few laps around it just to be sure. It feels good to get moving a little, anyway, and given that he's not fond of the options of submersion-testing his prosthetic or trying to figure out his individual wetsuit-and-flippers situation, he prefers spending awhile here in the garden or there in the library, even poking his head into the Interfaith Center once he's settled enough.]

Today is the first time she's been to the Iskaulit gardens since they arrived in this odd place.  It reminds her of something she'd like to do.] Adstringendum, people arrived and left all the time, much like this place.  You grow used to a person's presence, establish... ties.  [What a formal way of putting it.  She's thinking of the bizarre jar collection in her room.]  And then suddenly, they're gone.  The same holds true here, doesn't it...?  It can be hard for a great many people, even if you know you'll see them again.

In Adstringendum, we kept what we called a memory tree.  People would attach the names of those who'd left... paper monuments, so they'd never be forgotten.  And new arrivals would always know who had been and gone.

Free to a good home!  It's in the Bloodsport cargo bay, come and take it by all means.  [Be warned, though, this pile of hair accessories are the kind you'd expect to find in a kiddie aisle that's been painted obnoxiously pink.]  I'm not gonna be here.  I hope they're all gone by the time I come back.

On that note, I'm going up to the surface.  I doubt anyone else is heading up that way, but I'm going up to test some stuff and that'll make the area hazardous to suddenly turn up in, so.  Fair warning, just avoid the area around these coordinates.  [Coordinates given.  It's a freaking planet of water, there's plenty of surface area, but her luck is inconvenient at best so let's avoid anyone haplessly surfacing in the middle of a lightning field, yeah?]
