[Vash has been having a lot of fun this past month. Bouncing from way station to way station gambling from casino to casino. Never winning too big. He's careful to lose some, but always comes out ahead. Sometimes having super human intelligence for card counting and statistics.

He can found most any casino at the card tables. If people visit more than one they can easily catch on that Vash always walks away a winner. Also he's trying to pretend the singing planet doesn't exist. He will not do anything to get closer to that place if he can.

Also drinking. Lots of drinking and delicious food. He has the money at the moment to indulge a little! Run into drunk Vash in a bar if you'd like!

Although eventually the prize machine gives out something other than money. An old red harmonica. One that has been played before, but still clean and cared for. He's never considered playing the harmonica before, but seeing as he has one now!]

Does anyone know how to play a harmonica? I'm curious to learn!

[ Oooh. She hesitates. Because she knows him-- or a version of him. But he's not wearing the cat uniform and that's enough to make her not say anything about it yet, but she wants to answer. He was always nice. ]

I played a recorder once.

A harmonica! It's an instrument! And you blow into it and it makes music! Or well, noise, I suppose you have to be good at it to make music.

[While Vash sadly has no idea who she is. Still his smile is still as warm as if he did.] Well, you're ahead of me then! I've never really taken time to learn any instrument, but I just won a harmonica so I might as well learn how to use it!

That is the catch with most instruments, isn't it? Is it like a flute?

[show him, show him...!]

Hmm... [Vash twirls the harmonica in his fingers, just out of view of the camera, as he thinks on that.] Sort of, but it's shorter and makes a different sound.

[Twirl, twirl, twirl.]

And you hold it to your mouth differently.

[Twirl. Twirl! Still just off camera as Vash looks up as if in thought.]

Well? [COME ON, MAN. he's starting to look excited!] Are you gonna show it, or what?

[ It's okay, it's not as if she expects it. Okay-- no she does. But she's trying really hard to be who she thinks 'Lark' is and not 'Riley' because otherwise she'd still be screaming. And it's nice to see someone who looks familiar even if... Maybe he doesn't remember her at all. Strangely, that's a concept she kind of understand now. ]

I bet if you look around you can find a book for it. Or maybe you have to win that as a prize, too. Or you can just keep playing it until something sounds nice.

Oh!! [Finally Vash he holds up his harmonica. It's not new looking. In fact it looks well loved and played, but clean.] here it is! Heh, not a great win, really. It's not even a new one.

Oh! A book wouldn't be a bad idea. Not sure I'd find a book like that on these stations, but maybe the next lot. Hehe, I'm not sure if my crew would really like it if I fought myself.

Oh...! [he... pretty much leans into the camera to try and get a closer look--it hardly helps, since he's not there, but it's the thought that counts.] You play into the hollow part? It looks like a whistle...

[music is kind of his jam.] How strange. What an odd thing to win.

Yeah. I guess it kinda is! A big whistle! I think the strangest part is it doesn't even look new. You'd think a win would be at least for something new.

Oh well. At least it should keep me entertained trying to learn how to play it. [Vash places the harmonica towards his mouth and plays a couple notes.] Sounds alright still.

Not new, hm? I wonder if you inherited some old artifact, then. Perhaps it's a famous person's cherished historical possession, and you don't even know it.

[he's just being silly, of course... with no idea how close he is to the truth.]

Oooh. Maybe. I could be holding the harmonica of some space king! Or maybe a space movie star! Oooh, I hope she's hot.

[Robin is being silly. Vash is being serious.]

Sure thing. I wonder if I could find a "how to play" book or something. I'm not too sure we have musicians among the fleet that specialize in harmonicas. So it looks like I'll be self taught.

Well Tega, at the rate those things dispense random junk, you might actually get a manual if you play long enough...

Ah-- [he looks confused, for a second, and suddenly cackles when he gets it!] Oh, it's just swearing. I mean--originally it was the name of a famous priest, but someone realized it was fun to shout when you're angry.

Hahahaha! [Vash's head tilts back as he cries out in laughter.] Not sure how the priest feels, but I guess he's sort of famous now then, isn't he?
