[Instant teleportation sucks. Especially when it's too quick for him to process - and then bam! He's... somewhere. Somewhere that's throwing confetti into his face and playing loud, welcoming music?

He nearly stumbles back into the wall, instead regaining his bearings in time to take a look around the ship. Stefan's step is hesitant as he grips his messenger bag tight and explores various places. While he's not exactly stealthy, he's not trying to intrude on anyone either.

In the end, he's settled down in the med lab, inspecting the equipment and trying to discern what's different from the hospitals and labs he's worked in back home - it's not what he's expected, but he could get used to it.]

[Stefan had held off on announcing his presence via communicator - partially because it wasn't the Network, and partially because they're recording him 24/7 anyways. Does he really need to give the NSA (or whatever this universe's version of the NSA) more fuel for their potentially Islamophobic fire?

Once he's holed himself up in the med lab, he fiddles with the communicator until he's found the video function--]

The longer I'm here, the more I wonder about people's - various species? - taste in television. [He smiles, though it's thin.] Or our showrunners' definition of "informed consent." Doesn't seem like anyone here remembers signing those NDA's.

I... well, this is kind of a weird question, but does anyone know what direction the sun's in? Or how I'd find out what direction the sun's in? It's pretty important. [More than important - it's necessary for his prayers, though he knows better than to voice that out loud.]

What exactly is an en-dee-ay? Also, which sun is a pertinent question here. There's probably one in just about every direction.

I could tell you which direction the nearest sun is. We pass by a few now and then. [As a pilot his augmentation is good at helping him figure out directions. After all, flying too close to a sun would make a poor pilot indeed.]

If you're asking for a specific sun I'm not sure how helpful I'll be. I haven't really seen any familiar suns, or moons even, since waking up here. [No, he didn't misspeak. Doesn't every planet have two or more suns and moons to get familiar with?]

[Alex is sitting sideways in her chair at the communicators station, eating chocolate protein paste from a spoon, when a stranger appears in a burst of confetti in the middle of the bridge. This has been a pretty regular occurrence lately, after what seemed like a dry spell, and she's almost not cranky to see that it's a pretty attractive guy who seems to be around her age. She gives the spoon a slow, final lick, appraising him.]

Hey.

[What suave welcoming words.]

A non-disclosure agreement? It means we can't spoil the ending of a season or something.

[At the mention of multiple suns, he sighs.] Should've guessed it wouldn't be that easy.

Really? [He can't quite hide the disappointment in his voice - there goes his theory for praying towards Earth. Wherever they are, Stefan's guessing it's nowhere near home.]

Yeah, unfortunately - I kinda was. Thanks for the offer, though.

Hey.

[Stefan reaches for his dessert cream, careful to hold it steady as he glances back at her. There's still confetti in his hair (and probably all over him, period), but he's got more pressing things to deal with.] Does this... [he gestures at his hair, his clothes, and the cream] happen every time someone joins the crew? Or am I just that unlucky?

Nah, it's pretty much a party every time.

[She waves her finger in the air like a noisemaker, but the expression on her face is sheer sarcasm.]

[ Jason's been going through the armory, getting used to the feel of the Atroma-issue weaponry. The new arrival music is hard to miss, though, and when he pokes his head into the corridor, the confetti-covered new arrival is also hard to miss. ]

Welcome to the Paisley! You're going to be finding that stuff in all kinds of weird places over the next few days, so have fun with that.

[ He indicates the confetti. ]

Sorry I couldn't be more help. What planet were you looking for? Maybe there's some kind of maps I could find or something.

[Most of the time, Elena keeps her communicator on just to listen to the network. But it's just background noise more often than not as she tries to at least look busy in the med lab on her own ship. It's not until a familiar voice breaks through that she even pays it that much attention. Elena drops her pen and moves further down the counter where she's left the communicator to pick it up and see for herself, flipping it on for herself.]

[It's not that the people here haven't been kind to her or that she hasn't made any friends, but a familiar voice and face from home? She's all over it immediately.]

Stefan?

[Now that's a face he hasn't seen in years. In the hazy memories of his past life, certainly - she had been at the forefront of it all, from their first meeting to numerous school dances - but in this life? It's like meeting an old, old friend after a long time.

Stefan blinks back surprise, struggling to keep his voice even--] Elena?

["It's really you?" Their world was supposed to have perished, but here she was. Living, breathing proof that maybe Mystic Falls was still standing somewhere. After a second, he manages a thin (though completely genuine) smile.] It's good to see you.

[He snorts, reaching for the confetti on his shoulders and trying to dust it off him.] That's one way to welcome your new crew.

Thanks, um... [Introductions would probably be helpful.] I'm Stefan, by the way. Stefan Alesci.

Seriously?

[Stefan groans, instinctively reaching for the confetti stuck in his hair and trying to shake it out. The effort's a valiant one, but it doesn't do him much good.] Thanks for the heads-up. Is there a shower around here?

Earth? [He shrugs apologetically.] It's really okay. From the sounds of it, I don't think it'd be possible to find the Milky Galaxy.

Alex Russo, First Mate.

[She gets up from the chair, slouching over to offer a lazy handshake.]

We've gone through a lot of different star systems, all of them with different suns. Are you looking for a specific one?

[Elena's not entirely sure how to interpret his surprise at seeing her. She expected some because he probably thought he was the only person from Mystic Falls here, but there's a weight to it that feels...off and she can't quite put her finger on it. Or maybe it's just not what she was expecting. Even with as much as Stefan and Elena have put behind them and moved forward from, it's hard to know how Stefan will react or respond which at times bothers her since he was the only stable piece of her life at a very important time. And at other times, it catches her completely off-guard because she hasn't thought of it in a while.]

[She draws a breath to ground herself and brushes it off. It's nothing. Probably.]

Yeah. You, too. [She smiles, faintly.] How long have you been here?

The Milky Galaxy. From what I understand, though, it sounds like it'll be harder to locate than I anticipated.

No, I don't think I've ever heard of that one. I'm sorry. Is that where you come from?

Well, how would we spoil it? Everything's happening in real-time, isn't it? [She honestly has no idea.]

Does it matter which sun you use? Is one sun better than another sun?

It's okay - I shouldn't have assumed we were near it. But yeah, I'm from Earth.

What about you? If you've never heard of the Milky Way, you're from... another planet, then?

The hot water's only good for about ten minutes, though. It's a newer ship, so we haven't gotten most of the upgrades that would make things more comfortable around here.

I'm Jason Todd, by the way. First mate -- one of two, actually. Don't ask. [ He grins when he says it, though: whatever led to two first mates, it's not ship drama. ]

I'd think so, but the lawyers would find a reason or three. [He's got no clue, either - he's more miffed at the lack of informed consent.]

Not usually. I was just looking for the general direction of my planet, and knowing where my sun is would've helped.

Nice to meet you, Alex. [He reaches over to shake her hand, quickly but maybe a little too firmly - even a year later, his vampiric strength is hard for him to control.]

About three months.

[She gives an impressed whistle at his grip.]
