[Most people wake up fairly fast, but Julian doesn't. He hasn't slept properly in weeks and being somewhere fairly warm and comfortable and quiet is a luxury. When he does stir, it's slowly, eyes blinking open and shut again, almost looking like he's going to go back to sleep. He looks young and peaceful, if a bit thin and scruffy.

And then he realises he isn't where he should be and he's not with who he should be with. He sits up abruptly, looking around.]

[He slaps a hand over his mouth, lowering it slowly and sighing. When he speaks, it seems to be mostly to himself.]

[ Unless it's at Comic-Con, but that is a very different rabbit hole he's deliberately not going down. ]

Safe to say we might come from completely different universes. The United States doesn't exist where you are, right?

[ Or Julian wouldn't have been confused by the abbreviation. ]

Not Vulcans, Chitauri. Which means you're a variant time-line, if such fundamental historical facts are different, you can't be from the safe reality that I exist in.

That's amazing. Did you have a Eugenics War? They started the genetic manipulation program in the... 1950's? Maybe? The war itself was around the turn of the millenium, so the period you come from would have been in or immediately post-Eugenics War.

[He's distracted himself thoroughly on that and apparently forgotten there was a question attached.]
