Who: Ino & you!
Broadcast: Video
Action: On the beach, if you like!
When: RIGHT NOW
[ The video turns on, and she's got her chin in her palm. She blows a little at her bangs, making them fly up for a moment before she speaks ]
I've seriously been slacking lately ... so, anyone wanna spar? I know it's kinda late at night, but I could super use the practice.

But luckily for her, there's a ninja art that was invented specifically for this purpose. She clasps her hands together again, and just as the bubbles surround her, she disappears -- leaving what looks like a piece of driftwood in place of where she once was.
As for where she is now, she'll be sneaking up right behind him and going for a literal kick to the ass, if he doesn't notice her before her foot can connect ]

[Which means he's not watching his back at all, and when Ino kicks him in the ass, he yelps and stumbles forward across the sand, nearly tripping before he manages to catch his balance and turn on his heel.]
What the hell! [IS THIS FUNNY OR EMBARRASSING, HE CAN'T EVEN TELL??]

You should always watch your back, you know.

[He's definitely not turning his back to her again. How rude. Still, there's a grin tugging at the corner of his mouth as he decides to go with funny, at least until he can get his revenge.]
Is that what you learned in medic training?

[ Well, she trusts him enough to tell him most of the truth, anyways. She's pulled a knife from the pouch on her leg again, twirling it with one finger as she speaks ]
Well, there are certain things I have to say to the public, you know? If there's someone in the fleet who's a threat, I wouldn't want them knowing what to expect from me. I'd be a pretty terrible ninja if I gave myself away to everyone right off the bat.
no subject
Should I be insulted that you don't think I'm a threat?
no subject
Not like that. I'm talking about the kind of threat who'd do something to hurt an innocent person, or someone who can't fight back. I'd hope you weren't insulted by me thinking you're not that type of person.

[It's . . . nice, knowing that she more or less trusts him. He can count on one hand the people who really do - on two fingers, if he's only counting people who are in the Fleet - and he isn't quite sure how to react to it. He doesn't have a ton of experience.]
I think . . . we must work very differently, too. In all sorts of ways. Your techniques are very interesting. [Tell him more stuff, Ino.]

[ She stops twirling the knife, holding it like it's another finger to point to his hands ]
You're just pushing the energy around and out of there to make the bubbles, right? It's about the same for anything I can do, too.
no subject
We just shape it differently?
no subject
Lightning type? Or is it divided by elements at all ... ?
[ Since she's pretty sure she's never met someone who was a water AND a lightning type user ... ]
no subject
No division. Ripple is all the same, it's just a matter of how you channel it. I use bubbles, Joseph has . . . [He wiggles his fingers dismissively.] Little clacker things. [Still not his favorite technique.] Our teacher has such mastery over Ripple that she's able to channel it into anything instinctively - which is the goal, to attain that flexibility, that versatility.

She watches curiously, before she crouches down to imitate. Only, she makes a little flower bouquet instead ]
Huh ... interesting.
It's not difficult for us to use different things in that way -- hell, I've used my own hair as a weapon before. But the type of energy we can use is usually limited in some way ... it's called our "nature". Earth and water are the ones I can use well.
no subject
Well, ours comes from solar energy, like I mentioned before. But - what are the differences between the different natures? What is it that you can't do without - fire and air, I think it would be?
no subject
But basically, it's just the "type" of attack, I guess. I have a friend whose nature is Fire, and he can breathe fire out of his mouth like a dragon. --Oh!
[ She lights up, remembering she has a way to show him a "fire" technique, and she reaches back into her pouch. She replaces the knife in there, and pulls out what looks like a piece of paper with a scribble on it ]
This uses fire energy. When I put chakra into it, it sets on fire and explodes. But since I'm not really proficient with fire nature, I have to use this as a tool to make fire, rather than being able to produce it on my own.
no subject
Too bad. I'd have liked to see you breathe fire like a dragon. It's sort of like a bomb, yes? More sophisticated, but . . .
What about your disposition makes you better suited for earth and water? Is that something you have to find out yourself, or does someone tell you when you're young?
no subject
That's exactly it. We call it a "paper bomb", or an "exploding tag".
We have a special kind of paper you can use to find out -- you touch it, and depending on how it reacts, that tells you what you'd be the best at. Sometimes it doesn't really matter, though... a lot of the techniques we use tend to be passed down in the family, or are even genetic features. So with a lot of those, you're just naturally good at it anyways. But if you're having trouble learning something you want to learn it can help you figure out why, or what you'd be better off focusing on.
