[Dread is probably not a good feeling to have in the face of actually having something resembling a 'team' now. Unfortunately, the way this place seems to love uprooting and depositing people out of nowhere into unfamiliar territory, and it sets him on edge.

His eyes narrow as he looks around yet another place he's unaccustomed, being bombarded by-- colorful shreds of paper and overly-cheerful music. And even more people. Once again, he longs for the familiar weight of a weapon in his hand, but this fleet just loves to suck the comfort out.

At least this is a more permanent residence? Time would tell on that one.]

[This seems destined to go well. Mal can smell his tension on the air, and it worries her a bit. All she shows on the outside, though, is a certain sharp set of her jaw as she approaches him, hand outstretched to shake.]

[At the sound of the music, Nightingale checks the bridge to see... Wow, that guy looks like a mess. Still, he's here, so he's a teammate.]

[He doesn't take her hand when she offers it, though he does give her a once-over, appraising. She was the Captain? Another person to answer to in this place.. He's yet to decide whether that's a good or a bad thing. But someone to answer directly to is easier.

His brow furrows and he shakes his head once. He's not sure where she got that name, but he decides something doesn't feel quite right about it. Allen had called him Winter, and he thinks about bringing that up at some point.]

[His head turns to acknowledge her, and a small amount of stress seems to ease from between his shoulders.

Immediately, she is deemed nonthreatening for the time being. Until he is proven otherwise.]

[Once again, silently grateful for Allen at least giving him something he can tell people. Even if it's not really a name. It's his.]

[He shrugged his shoulders, motioning with his head for her to lead the way. At least this way, he'd be able to keep an eye out and commit the area to memory.]

[She turns and starts walking, leading first to the kitchen, where there's a few fish skewers out still cooking... Which she then waves a hand, and they float over for Nightingale to pick them out of the air, and then hold a couple out to him.]

[ Okay, so maybe Allen should've thought through how to track down a guy on the roster with apparently no name. He was glad this last shuffle only had a couple new people added to ship rosters, or this would've taken forever. Trying the Caprine first was mostly because well, he'd rather avoid Red Fish he could.]

[And so, he finds himself wandering onto the ship. First knocking on the cargo bay door and then stepping in cautiously. He's got a bag with him. Anyone with a sharp sense of smell might pick up the smell of food and coffee in it.]

[Nightingale recognizes that voice. That's a guilt trip all on its own already. So, of course, she comes running to confirm and pray it's not who she thinks it is.]

[The answer comes in the form of his silence, though he does grunt quietly to prove he is listening. Was there really reason for him to talk? She had asked a question, but it wasn't really a pressing issue.

He watches her move the fish, and immediately goes on alert- he's not really come across anyone who could do that.. Not that he can recall, anyway. So it's more than a little surprising.

Uncertain of whether this was a test or not, he looks between her and the fish before reaching out to take one.]
