[For people who been around for a few months, you may recognize the familiar setting of the Blue Fish clinic and another medical PSA. Allen stands behind his usual table, looking like he's in decent spirits. Timcanpy is in the background, resting on a bowl of cotton balls while wearing a miniature cowboy hat]

Hello Everyone. For those who don't know me, I'm Allen Walker of the SS Blue Fish where I serve as one of the medics along with Dr. Beverly Crusher.

Just a few announcements today. First of all, the bimonthly Blood Drive will be happening this weekend! People who donate their blood will be paid either in money or food. Any one who does donate will also get cookies and juice. If you are interested in donating, please fill out the form attached. [this one!] If you wish to volunteer your time to help, please contact me. Any vampire volunteers will not be allowed near the donated blood.

[Right, moving on then]

Second, it's been reported that since the attack, many ships have been reporting technical issues. While our engineers are working hard to sort out these issues, please be careful of any electrical charges or motion sickness caused by microgravity - er, the floating around. [and he makes a spinning gesture with his hands as if that explains it] And no, we still haven't heard from Atroma. Unsurprisingly.

Third, some of you may also be experiencing problems with your augment, such as headaches or mood swings. We're...working on it. Until it's sorted out, we can offer aspirin for the headaches but...I recommend keeping an eye on your crew in case they try to do anything like enter a spontaneous group marriage. [He frowns a little and looks straight at the camera] Please stop them. They may be cross at you at first, but they'll thank you later.

[And then he goes back to his friendly smile][he puts on his reading glasses, picks up his communicator and starts scrolling through it...and scrolling. And scrolling] ...a high number of reports of fights breaking out in saloons- [He pauses are one report] - good Lord.

[How did that even-? He frowns at it a bit, before putting down the communicator, clearing his throat, and addressing the fleet again ]

Right- anyway. If you don't want to get caught in a fight, I'd recommend simply not going to a saloon at this rate. If you do want to get caught in a fight, please make sure you know how to fight beforehand. Several fleet members offer self-defense training if you don't. And if you get injured, please contact your lab support- [he amends] Unless you are your lab support, then contact another one. Trust me when I say, giving yourself stitches is a terrible idea.

[Not that he's going to say anything else about that]

Any reason we're donating, though? I thought the labs were supposed to have stuff like this when people got sick.

Oh, dear. A spontaneous group marriage sounds awfully specific.

Happened to a family member of mine some years back. Figuring out the legality of annulment or divorce is a nightmare.

I'm planning to donate, but uh... what other help do you need? I'd be happy to volunteer.

It's a reasonable sum, depending on your blood type and supply need. Also, returning donators do get paid more than first times.

But we'd figure out the exact amount on the day of the Blood drive when you sign in.

In case people get injured and require a blood transfusion, is why. Unfortunately, there isn't a way for the labs to produce a synthetic substitute for blood, and I rather not ask Atroma to supply us with fresh blood.

Any help would be welcomed! If you have medical experience, we have positions working directly with drawing blood. If you don't, there's positions at the greeting and forms table, as well as the cookie table.

Nope. We don't.

[And he does not sound the least bit broken up by this fact]

I'm afraid my blood's not compatible, but I could donate some food as payment. The last harvest of the bacon kelp is fully dried.

[Aw yeah. He immediately perks up like that]</small. Eh? You have bacon kelp growing on your ship?

Good reason for me to be a returning one, then. If I'm here long enough. [No offence, but she hopes she isn't.]

Ah-- there's got to be a lot of blood types here, if we're all from different worlds. [It can't possibly be universal.] Is there a lot of compatibility?

[He grins - good, so someone else had liked the stuff.]

I do. We installed a tank in the cargo bay for that and the rice-like algae. It produces perhaps a pound wet per week, but it's still reaching full maturity; I expect it to increase with time.

Ah, yes. Exactly!

Between the different humans, there is. The four types seems to be consistent throughout the worlds- luckily. However for other races that are less common in the fleet, it can be a bit more difficult as many of them can't take human blood.
