[And again, the space around her fades in a white light, and gravity slowly introduces itself again in a way that's meant to ease the guest's transition between it and weightlessness.
When the world fades back in, Nightingale will find herself outside. It's dark, very dark, but soon enough it'll lighten just a bit, enough for her to see what's going on. She's on a hill, halfway between the top and bottom of it. It's night time outside, with the stars and the moon in clear view - though the moon seems to have a weird shadow on the side of it. At first, it seems like nothing special is going to happen.
But then there are headlights of a car coming along the worn pathway of the road at the bottom of the hill. Soon, the car rolls to a stop, the headlights turn off -
On the passenger's side, which faces the hill, is a boy who looks to be about eleven years old. Nightingale might not be able to make out all the features, but he definitely has shaggy black hair that may look familiar. He runs around the front of the car to the driver's side, and though there's already someone stepping out of it, Clay grabs their hand to pull them along.]
Come on, mom! It's going to start soon!
[He pulls her around the front of the car and, once they reach the hill, Clay lets go of her hand to start running up it, a big, excited smile on his face. He passes right by Nightingale, and she might be able to see more of him now. He has the same brown eyes as always, and instead of the built figure that she sees him with now, he's skinny now. Not bony, but it's obvious he hasn't worked to improve his muscles just yet. Most noticeable of all might be the fact that he doesn't have the bandage he always wears on his nose right now, and that he's not wearing the visor he always does.
The other person - a woman, his mother, starts to walk up the hill after him, laughing at his excitement and - well, gosh, she's excited too, if the way she goes up the hill says anything. There's a light bounce to her steps, and she looks up at the moon as if willing for it to wait on its show. She has darker skin, as she's of Korean descent, and the same black hair that Clay does, only it's straight and thin compared to Clay's thick and wild hair. She has his brown eyes as well, and... she's also wearing the exact same visor Clay wears to this day, only there's a different emblem where he'd usually wear the GYAXA one.]
Haha, not so fast, Clay! You still have to help me set up the telescope, you know!
[And, indeed, she's carrying all of the equipment while Clay carries nothing. This child.]
