Sweet dreams are made of these...
( for A-M characters )
Before you post your topcomment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names comment here, and N-Z names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your topcomment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

reach out to touch them.
She knows better than that.
She wanders across the room, eventually finding herself in front of the phases of the moon. She reaches out to touch it, as if wondering what she'll see. She has yet to address the boy in the corner. She will soon enough.]

when she touches the poster, though, she might well feel a stab of pain, something quick and sharp on her arm, leaving as quick as it had arrived. almost like a bite. she may even see the mark, hear the roar of something note quite human, but not exactly animalistic either. but with it comes a memory, a flash of a prison cell, of clawed hands, and finally, a face in the reflection of reinforced glass.
it's the boy from the corner, Isaac, staring in wonder at sharp, pointed teeth, eyes alight with amber, breathing heavily, panting. he's both scared and proud, terrified and powerful, something she might well feel coursing through her own veins until he growls, the memory fading, the sound echoing around the room. whether the sound came from the memory or from the boy in the corner, it's really hard to tell. ]

Someone else might be judgmental, she's more curious. She's used to the culebras, snake people, but she hasn't run into people like other animals. Other cursed beings.
She tilts her head, looking over at the boy in the corner now.]
You're not human, are you?
no subject
I'm human enough.
[ he shrugs, stretching legs out in front of him. he watches her closely -- she's too comfortable with the idea of the inhuman, the supernatural, he can tell by the way she asks, the curiosity in her tone. ]
no subject
She laughs a little.]
But you're something else too.
[Just like she is.]
no subject
[ not that he really meant for all of that to come out, but he suspects she's not too different from him. supernatural, definitely. ]
What about you? You're pretty certain that I am, so... I'll show you mine if you show yours?
[ ... Isaac Lahey, classiest, smoothest werewolf in town. ]

[ is she actually agreeing that she might be a supernatural type too? he can't really tell. he leans his head back to get a better look at her. he just ends up looking a little snooty when he does it. ]
I mean, I can go first but that doesn't guarantee you will...

[She's not particularly concerned with hiding what she is anyway.]

in a few moments his eyes flicker amber, his teeth grow to fangs, and even his ears begin to get slightly pointed. he won't go full wolf, because that'd just look ridiculous enough. he grins, all toothy and sharp. ]
Not exactly full werewolf yet, but.

[And then because fair is far, she vamps out. Her skin shifts and becomes more reptilian, snake like. Her eyes flash yellow. Two sharp fangs pop out, like the same kind snakes have.]
I'm a culebra.
no subject
[ no, that is not what he expected. she's something like a were snake or a were ... anything. and because fair is fair? he lets himself go full wolf, growling lowly as he changes. sorry, even with pointed ears and amber eyes and a wrinkly sort of hairy face? she's got him beat. but probably not. ]
What is a cul-- however you said it?
no subject
[Though Culebra is the name she's always preferred she recognizes that others exist out there, and vampire is more commonly known.]
no subject
[ he should act more alarmed, but he doesn't. he's definitely feeling it, because he's never met a vampire before but judging by the way her face changed? yeah, vampires are real. ]
I mean, it probably doesn't taste good. You know, werewolf and all.
no subject
[She could, if she wanted to. She doesn't doubt that she could probably take him.]
And somehow I don't think you're offering.
no subject
[ a shrug, at least he's being honest. ] And the whole blood loss thing isn't exactly my style. Couldn't promise I'd not wolf out on you or anything. You know. Instincts.

[ well. he supposes she could. ]
