[ the moment his hand closes around the hilt of the blade, riku twists, strings glinting. a dark figure appears from behind him, all long silver hair and dark skin and fiendish smirks. he seems more of a ghost than a solid figure, though-- every move he makes, riku copies, especially as riku dives, blade in hand, to stab robin right through the gut. ]

[that's a lot to take in. the vision, the movement, the sudden figure--he rolls out of the way, just in time, ending in a low crouch as he readies his weapon in his hand.

all that, and all he greets his enemy with is a venomous smirk.]

I was wondering when I'd get to see you.

[he doesn't think the long-haired figure is real, necessarily--but Robin's still made quite a habit of talking to ghosts.]

[ blade to blade clangs, scraping against each other. riku doesn't let up with just one blow, going to multiple strikes, unyielding. that's one, two, three, four! ] He belongs to me. [ is all the figure says, in a triumphant, smug tone. ]

[he is thankfully much better at fighting with a sword than he likes to let people think--he can keep up, keep blocking, even if it's close a couple of times.]

No one belongs to you. [he sneers. a battle of egos.] You're dead.

[he looks for a break and when he finds it, he skirts around to start slicing through those strings.]

[ it only takes one quick swipe-- and the translucent threads suddenly turn black, dozens of them tied to his arms and legs and torso like he was a marionette. riku's eyes go from amber right back to his usual seagreen and he collapses onto his knees, a little short of breath. ] Y-you're... better with a sword than I thought.

[birdsbirdsbirds]

[and when Riku falls to his knees, Robin takes a couple of seconds to make sure the threat is actually gone... before lowering his blade and breathing out one big sigh of relief.]

Funniest sword I've ever seen... [he reaches down to offer his friend a hand up.] I'm just glad that actually worked. I didn't have a snappy follow-up after that.
