[it has taken him months, but Nel is finally getting brave enough to really use the network. the fact that he mysteriously knows how the whole thing works, and the fact that it might come with some sort of responsibility still terrifies him... but he's at least getting used to the feeling.

so, sometime in the late morning, there's a scruffy little guy with piercings and pointy ears smiling over the network. a little awkward, but he's trying--putting on his best charming smile for the camera.]

Hi, um... everybody, I guess. My name is Nel, and I'm on the... [give him a sec] ...Three Twins? Which, I think is a weird name, but. Whatever. Also, I guess I know about, like... communication stuff, so there's that.

And I haven't said anything on this thing yet, so... I guess that's what this is! So... yeah. ...Hi.

[so far, the elf has done a good job of sleeping a lot, slinking in and out of the ship without bothering anyone, and generally trying to make himself as invisible and unobtrusive as possible. it's an old, bad habit. and it's only now that he's starting to feel okay with the world enough to relax a little.

which means he's actually lazing around at the comm station today, leaving his nervous little message on the network and surfing around through files and old recordings. just spacing out, looking like he's just rolled out of bed...

and also not wearing any pants.

he's got some absolutely enormous t-shirt on from who-knows-where, but that makes it hard to tell if he's wearing anything else at all. there's definitely no pair of pants, though. that much is certain. and he doesn't seem to notice.]

[he recognizes the face, but not the specifics. because he is just so alert and on top of things always.]

[him all slumped and squinting at the comm station, one leg folded up, the other dangling lazily... yeah totally only mostly awake and still in his jammies. or, what counts as them, anyway. pants don't seem to be part of the jammies equation today.

but he sits up pretty quick, like he forgot that other people lived here, and swivels the chair enough to turn to look over at her.]

[he straightens up quick in his seat as the voice startles him out of his lazy state, and he swivels the chair enough to face her better.

still not thinking about the fact that he's missing half of his clothes.

he looks surprised... but it's more the kind where he's trying to remember if she's supposed to be on this ship or not. since he's so good at keeping track of these things.]

--Oh! Hi. Yeah. ...I am.

[...in fact, he's only mostly sure that he even ended up on the right ship after he went out last night. hmm.]

Yeah, right? It just seems kind of depressing.
