[There is a very pretty young woman on your network feed, everyone! Actually, she's a little too pretty. Not blindingly so ~~no, that's the Lunars~~, but she's very... symmetrical. Completely symmetrical. Which just doesn't seem quite right to most humans, but good luck figuring out that that's what's tripping you up.

Pretty or not, she doesn't look thrilled.]

I am so-o-o bored. Is there anything to do on this ship? Empty space is really not that exciting and I'm starting to feel useless.

Well, that sounds fancy, at least. Anyway, know what we're supposed to be doing? I was a little fuzzy on that.

Not exactly? [He scratches his head.] It was all kind of vague. I'm all for fifteen minutes of fame, but I hadn't really planned on being on television. [A shrug and he shakes his head.] I guess that's one way to achieve immortality.

[Oddly that's the part she's ok with. It's like a netdrama that she's in. Which is awesome. Couldn't they have waited until, you know, after Cinder'd had her whole revolution thing?]

I guess. It would have been nice if they'd asked.

Yeah, it would'a been nice, but I've mostly stopped expecting nice these days. If they wanna pay me to be entertaining, I can handle that--it's more than my boss does.

Entertaining, huh...? [She thinks she can do entertaining.] Wonder what they'd think counts.

Only one way to find out. [Trial and error, hopefully without emphasis on the error part. Axel's pretty sure he knows what passes for entertainment. People all want the same thing in a story, after all: character. Well, he's got plenty of that--he can be any character this story needs.]

By the way, you got a name? If we're gonna be in this game together, we might as well be introduced. I'm Axel; got it memorized?

[Iko grins, tapping the side of her head.] Sure have! I'm Iko, it's nice to meet you!

Likewise. I guess we'll see what they have in store for us; in the meantime, what do you usually do for fun? There's gotta be something to do around here.

I usually watch stuff on a netport, but whatever these things are don't even have movies or anything. Apparently we can buy stuff at waystations, whenever we get to one.

A netport? That like a computer?

Sounds like a waystation's the place to be. How are we supposed to be the entertainment when there's no entertainment?

[everyone keeps using second era terms why] Um... a guess a closer reaction for that time period would be a little more like a tablet?

Maybe they found lounging around being bored entertaining.

Hey, lounging around I can do. If that's what they call entertainment, I am 100% on board. Something tells me it's not gonna be that easy, though. [It's never that easy; he's not that lucky.

[He threads his hands together behind his head and leans back.]

Well, it still beats my lot back home so far, so I'll take it.

Yeah, probably not. Certainly not what I'd look for. [She just kind of brings her hands apart and sighs dramatically.] Oh well! I'm sure we'll figure it out. Maybe it'll be fun!

Fun's what I'm hoping for, at least! Admittedly, most anything is more fun than the folks I work with back home, so they're doing pretty well here so far.

You seem pretty happy to not be at work. [Iko knows that a lot of people don't like work, but this seems pretty back.] Couldn't you just quit?

Mm, you might say that the benefits of staying outweigh the desire to leave. [Like, you know, staying alive.] Besides, I've got a friend there who would be totally lost without me. Real space case, you know? [He frowns a little.] Hope he's doing all right since I'm stuck here for now.

[...Iko's probably the space case in her and Cinder's relationship, but she gets the idea.] Yeah, I think I know what you mean... I'm worried about my friends, too. They can do some pretty crazy stuff!

[you know like plan to crash a royal wedding and kidnap the emperor. and iko was their main way in.]

I guess we'll just have to hope they don't get into too much trouble while we're away, huh?

Yeah, hope not. [Though that's going to be very hard for hers...]
