[ As promised, in a few days time, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan make their way to the markets. They dress warmly, Obi-Wan procuring a thick cloak for himself. It's hard to feel like a Jedi Master without one.

He watches as Ahsoka flits from stall to stall as he lingers behind her, to correct her on her "bargaining" technique. In a way, they resemble a teenager, saddled with a wiser all-knowing uncle. He strokes his beard in light amusement. This is probably what he needed right now, a reassessment of his priorities, the here and now. ]

[ He does seem like the blaster type. ]

I'm not that invested in having a blaster. But I can recognize the importance of being armed. Or helping others be armed, in case of an emergency.

If you learn magic, you can't be disarmed.

[It's nice when her hatred of guns and her love of magic coincide.]

The same could be said of the Force. But even then, an over-reliance on either can prove disarming. So I will settle for a happy middle.

[ Trusting in the Force is one thing, expecting the Force to take care of everything is another. ]

The middle is for people who can't conjure giant pillars of fire at will.

[She sounds maybe a little smug.]

And yet, it is an agreeable one.

[ He quirks an eyebrow at her. ] For non-pyromaniacs, of course.

Then I shall concede to your preferences. They are all we have.

[ And his point was made, either way. ]

I promised her real food that isn't half-made of salt?

[ He's hardly her guardian, though he looks like it. ]

[She gives a long-suffering sigh, before holding up an empty hand. And suddenly, there's a covered, but still steaming bowl in it. The bowl vanishes again after a moment.]

I'm not just going to carry it out, it'll get cold that way.

See, now there's a better case for magic than flaming pillars.

... I hate to break it to you, but that wasn't magic...

[ At this point . . . is it even worth asking. He simply shrugs. ]

Not really. Everyone in my world can do that. It's weirder to me that people can't.

Then imagine it the other way around. Though I believe such a thing really is a characteristic of your world.

... Although, I wonder if it could be simulated with magic...

[ Still, things appearing out of nowhere to be normal . . . is still pretty weird. ]
