[As soon as the new arrivals flooded their proverbial gates, Tyrion had been watching every broadcast carefully. He only replied to one - the woman named Hawke deserved to know there were two bars, bless her heart. The rest he merely observed -- looking for his brother, his sister, his father -- any of them would result in the first broadcasted murder.

They all seemed relatively harmless. The ... two Castiels were a bit jarring. The woman named Azula, however --

He spent a very restless night trying to figure out what was it about the woman that bothered him. She was Zuko's sister, and Zuko seemed to be a fairly level-headed youth. Yet when she had spoken to Sansa and Bran?

His hand curled around a screwdriver like it was a knife.

So he put in a broadcast, carefully manipulating it so just the Blue Fish and his own crew could see it (well if the woman was dangerous he wasn't going to let his own people walk into a trap. That was just rude.)]

Good morning, Blue Fish. For those of you whom I have not been introduced to, or know from my old world, I am Tyrion Lannister. [He'll forgo the House Lannister nonsense.] You might know me as the Imp. I am wondering ... this Azula woman, Princess -- what precisely is wrong with her? There is something about her that makes my skin crawl and I simply wish to know if I am being paranoid or if she is an actual threat.

Azula can be dangerous, but she also hasn't done anything yet. I'm not going to start a witch hunt. It's just going to end badly for everyone that isn't Azula, and she'll use it to her advantage.

I'm not happy to see her here, but it could also be a lot worse.

She has no intention of killing me or anyone else unless someone gives her reason to do it. She's not an idiot.

[ sansa takes it as a slight that he should ever believe distrust is a thing that must be commanded in her. trust died in sansa stark's heart the day her father's head rolled. and every last shadow of trustfulness was knocked loose by kingsguard gauntlets. she trusts her own kin only -- and all else is a glimmering diversion.

her voice remains as gentle as can be: ] What good advice, my lord. Shall you teach me my straight stitches, next? Or, mayhaps, house banners.

[ work for septas and maesters. aside from a sweet tone, she does not hide her derision. it is his family that taught her to doubt kindness from every hand. ]

[ there exists a quiet thrill deep in her stomach -- that lord tyrion doesn't even know the full extent of her fledgling status as a player in a wide wide game. that, perhaps, he's so blinded by misguided affection he cannot see how she uses honeyed words with princess azula to draw out information about her own crew. zuko is a prince; she never knew it before.

but she will offer him a slim slice of counsel for his trouble: ] For your part, my lord, you ought to learn how to ask your questions with more care.

[ she fears what damage can be done by reaching out and asking a brother what's wrong with his sister. the imp projects his own family onto others, and sansa pinpoints this as a weakness. ]

[Tyrion feels his own eyebrows raise at that statement, before his lips quirk around the edges. She is not wrong - he let his emotions and memories blind him to the more subtle nature of the game.]

My apologies, my lady. I promise to play with more caution in the future. [Is his carefully humbled reply.

She is not wrong though. His mismatched eyes narrow with thought.] I will have to put up better guards, for when the inevitable happens.

[Sansa will be safe - she can handle herself. She and Robb will protect Bran, good enough. Keep them off the field so he can directly deal with whomever his family decides to 'drop in'.]

[ if she is ever to make an ally of him, then she needs the subtler tyrion -- the one to whom she'd been married, she realizes. not the broken man who came afterwards. the one she'd had an unwitting hand in breaking. it feels wrong to encourage his subtler ways, but she need only think on all that baelish has taught her in order to understand what use might be made of tyrion lannister.

he already wants to help her -- half the work is done. she need only rein him in until he's needed. ]

Whoever comes will have no power here, my lord. [ ... ] This is not Westeros.

[Tyrion looked at the communicator then, before he modulated his own tone carefully. It was mild, in fact, well cultured and honeyed, but the words would have careful meaning.]

No it is not. But power is not only held in gold, it is held in presence and in words. [Tyrion had power here - not because of money but because he wielded words like a blade. He was his family's most able warrior in this -- but no one should ever underestimate the manipulative powers of the rest of the Lannister family.]

OF all the times to wish for a sneakoscope. If this person is some sort of threat to the fleet or people in it, shouldn't someone do something?

I've been given assurances that as long as we avoid her, we should be safe. I do not know if you know Zuko at all ... but I would avoid speaking of him to others.

I haven't met him, but I will watch my words and avoid trouble.
