[The device is propped up somehow on Riona's bed. It affords a view of her stretched out on said bed, fiddling with a long knife that she picked up on the station. It's sheathed, and she seems to be doing it just to occupy her hands. Don't worry, she's not about to go around threatening anyone with it.
She glances over at the camera and offers a smile.]

It occurred to me this morning that it's been approximately a month since I arrived here. Admittedly, it's put me in a bit of a contemplative mood. Been thinking of the usual: what I'm supposed to be doing right now back home, the people I left behind, my dog...

[She misses his slobbery kisses...]

But fear not, I'm not here to weigh everyone down with me waxing nostalgic and pining for home. As while I was doing that, it also occurred to me that I've learned quite a bit in the few weeks I've been here. Not just about all this technology and whatnot - though I am of the mind that refrigerators are one of the loveliest things ever invented - but with what I've been able to experience and, of course, the people I've been able to meet. Before anyone goes off, I'm not applauding Atroma. They're still a bunch of bastards. It's more like making the best of a... well, weird situation.

So I pose a question to you all: if there is one thing you could take back with you to your world - whether it's a physical object, an experience, a bit of knowledge you've gained, or so on - what would it be? Feel free to take the question as seriously or not as you'd like. I'm curious to see what all of you would be willing to take from our time here.

I dunno, the more I learn about the future - assuming it's all more or less the same - the more I think it might be better to just stay here for a while.

I can't exactly play the whole polling game, I've only been here a short bit myself. So I'm still stuck on missing my best friend and my poor old dog, I hope somebody is there to give him the TLC and eyedrops in my place. [And he gives a sad shake of his head.] Does it get easier to be without them?

Understandable. I suppose this wasn't too great a poll for the newcomers, but they may still gain a bit of insight into what the veterans have to say.

[Now that... is a good question he poses.]

You know, I'm not sure. So far it seems to... vary. Some days it's not so bad. Others... my heart feels like it's in a vice grip, and I want nothing more than to go back. Someone who's been here longer may be able to answer that better. I suppose it really comes down to how attached you are to what you had back home.

Mhmm. [He nods along with her words.] How attached were you to what you had back home?

If I bring them back with me

they won't be dead anymore.

I guess when you put it that way I've been here for the same amount of time as you. A month to be exact.

[It's hard to believe really. As for the other inquiry..Atoli thinks on this as best as she can and replies honestly]

If there's one thing I could take back with me from home I think I'd get my birds back.

I miss them.

I guess not, I mean, I wasn't looking forward to some things, and now - I don't know.

[ His father might be alive somewhere, but he's not sure if he wants to say that aloud. ]

Pretty attached, I have to say. Left behind my dearest dog, some friends, and my husband. Not to mention, you know, I had things to do! [Like figure out why the hell there were still darkspawn. Admittedly, there's a part of her that's glad because she's sure whatever lies ahead of her won't be fun, but she really ought to get to it.]

i'm so sorry they passed away in your world. i don't know if it would work but if there was a way i couldnt blame you for trying. at least you get to see them here?

[She smiles sympathetically.]

It's awful, isn't it? You'd think they could at least bring our animal companions with us. It would go a long way to endearing us to them.

What about something from here you'd bring back to your home?

[Riona hasn't heard too much; she's been avoiding asking, quite honestly.]

Is everything all right, Alistair? What did you find out?

[She can't hide the concern in her voice, and she doesn't want to. Something clearly isn't okay. If he wants to talk, she'll give him the chance.]

I wouldn't but I would want Jove and Elize to be able to go back to her Thedas and Cullen together.

No. Elize isn't from Thedas. She's from Rieze Maxia. That's why I would want her to go with Jove and go to Cullen again.

I've only heard a bit about these sponsor gifts, but from what I've gathered they're a little strange.

[Cheese-smelling soap, anyone?]

Me? Hmmm. Well so far I'd think I like to bring some of this technology back. My home would benefit a lot from it.

Ahhh. [She'd assumed they were both from Thedas.] They both must be incredibly fond of him. Elize would not want to go home?

No. She wants to go with Cullen and Jove. She already calls Cullen Daddy. She has no family to return to.

She thinks I'll be there too, but I won't be. It will be another Cole.

[She's always wondered about the types of people brought here. Some have loved ones and things to go back to, like her. Others, she figures, don't, and maybe this fleet is a good thing for them. But it's much different, much harder hearing about one of them, someone who found people here they grew to care about and had them taken away. It breaks her heart.]

Yes, I heard about the different Thedases that exist and I imagine that would... complicate things. Still, I hope we can find a way for all of us to go back on our own, without Atroma. Then perhaps she'll have a chance.

I think Jove would find a way to get her and bring her through. Maybe through the Eluvian.

I want them to be happy.

[Her head tilts to the side.] An Eluvian? I don't think I've ever heard of that.

I hope they will be. You're a good friend to them, Cole. [And speaking of names.] Oh, I'm Riona Cousland, by the way. I forget my manners.
