So. I've heard it's February 14th. And how good of the Atroma to get me my very own monogrammed ship. Apparently it's the perfect gift for the girl who so recently had everything. [ tacky, much? kate kinda cringes every time she sees her family name on her assigned ship -- regardless of how coincidental it might be. ] Kate Bishop, reporting for duty aboard the SS Bishop. I kid you not.

[ haha, tres funny. ]

Can we change? Ships, I mean. Not that this one isn't lovely, sure. But I'm getting flashbacks to summer camp at Interlochen and my mother writing my name on all my shirt tags.

[ speaking of shirts... ] Rogue? Can you hear me? [ she knows rogue taught her about the locked transmissions, but that still kinda evades her at the moment. ] I think it's time you showed me 'round this space station I keep hearing so much about.

[ she's dumbstruck. and he doesn't need to hear her to know it, because there's a mix of emotions on her face. a sucker punch of relief, quickly followed by reproach. the last thing she remembers is clint. apologizing. ]

Not unless ya wanna pay for it. [Which, as she pointed out earlier... ya kind of can't yet.] Each ship's got a number of shuttles - I don't know how many the Bishop ...[A pause because, yeah, wow, she can see how that would get old real fast] ...has, but ya need ta get in one ta get onto the station.

[This might be a bit much for a newbie, actually. Rogue pauses, considers.] ...have ya flown anythin' out in space before?

[ she's angry. she's happy. she's over-the-moon in a lot of really potent ways. and to think she thought running into the likes of wolverine and rogue had been windfalls. somehow (despite everything he'd done and failed to do) it's clint futzing barton whose presence sparks the most confidence.

she wants to yell at him for failing to somehow magically know she was here sooner. she wants to punch him in the arm. she wants to smile, but it just doesn't quite happen. ]

[Jussst need to finish sobering up from her little lunch/late afternoon Valentine's Day Means Choice party, but fortunately Rogue is not one to stay drunk for long. Especially since she's carrying around Logan's psyche. A quick brush of a healing factor and she doesn't even have to deal with a hangover.

Taking one of the Vanquish's shuttles, she docks over at the Bishop and starts making her way through it to find 1) Kate Bishop.]

[ she ain't hard to find. it's not like she's...hanging around the shuttle bay. waiting. watching. it's more like kate's been waylaid nearish the bay, and hasn't bothered to move on.

(just kidding she's totally waiting.)

when rogue arrives, kate raises her hand in a quick wave. after the marsiva, she's changed into one of the bishop's space jumpsuits. it fits well, but is a little colourless for her taste. ]

Nice to see you in person. [ kate smiles and does not offer a hand to shake. not because she's scared (she can see the gloves!) but rather because she worries it might come across as insensitive. ]

So... welcome? I assume you already got the whole rundown. It's... weird.

I did my due diligence back on the Marsiva. [ except she clearly hadn't been diligent enough. 'cause clint's here, and she missed that. ] Weird doesn't even begin to describe it.

Home. I hear there's no place like it.

I've been to better. Not necessarily here— the lack of green space is awful. It's still somehow an improvement, though.
