[ Things could be better.

If you haven't had the joy of meeting Theon yet, now is probably the opportune moment. Gone is his arrogant smile. Instead, he looks very defeated and, for once in his life, doesn't seem to be in the mood for mouthing off or arguing with anyone.

That may have something to do with his incredibly bruised face and the nice set of bruises are beginning to form around his neck. Ironically, none of which are actually the fault of his crewmates.

Welcome to the fleet, Theon. ]

[When Theon makes it over, Stefan's already prepared the med bay with what he needs: various creams and ointments are on the table, and one of the beds is cleared. (Vampiric hearing does come in handy every now and then!)

He gives Theon a quick once-over, wincing in sympathy before he rolls up his sleeves.]

Rough week?

[ He's on the opposite end of this corridor when he sees Theon, looking bruised and battered like the poor bastard he is. He quickly steps up to him and offers a hand, and checks Theon over for any limping and obvious bleeding while he's there. ]

What'd you do! Fall into a trash compactor?

KITCHEN
[ Not everyone likes gooey, sludge-like protein foodstuff and for that, he benefits. Anakin can be found squeezing as much soft-solid cubes into a bowl.

Then covering it with too many combinations of flavour-gels.

Just too many.

Or is it.

He hovers over the "powder" dispenser and contemplates the deep question of when enough is enough. ]

SHUTTLE BAY
[ When he's not on duty or have nothing to do, he slacks in this corner of the shuttle bay. He gets to see who goes out and who comes in, and unless they really look they won't see him. There's a number of crates of gumballs to sit on too. Perfect vantage point.

He's mostly just sitting around with a bag of curious looking peanut-like snack that may or may not be wiggling in hand. There's a book abandoned next to him (Knees in Love VII) and small pile of something that looks like it might be speeding ticket. ]

Ooh, I wouldn't, if I were you.

[Because Remus had the exact same idea. He wrinkles his nose as he comes in-- a little at Anakin's creation, but also at the choices before him. He's hungry, but god, it's nasty as hell. Still, he needs to eat, so he begins gathering: chicken cubes and vegetable cubes and erugh.]

I mean, do what you'd like, but-- I don't know if all those flavors are going to taste of anything but muck if you do them all at once.

[ Shinjiro had been going to the kitchen to, somewhat begrudgingly, check out the situation with the protein... foodstuff... in the kitchen, but upon spotting Anakin's travesty in a bowl, he appears frozen in mute horror with an empty bowl of his own. ]

[ Despite the bruises, Theon manages to make his glare pretty obvious. For someone who was too stubborn to shut up not too long ago, he's exceptionally tight-lipped now.

All the same, it was his choice to come here. If he wants the medical attention he's after, he is obliged to speak.]

You could say that.

[ Theon wishes. He also wishes Anakin would neither talk to him nor touch him, waving offf any attempts at help with a pinched look on his face. He's already been humiliated enough, sandman. ]

I would have to know what one is in order to have fallen into it.

[ He sounds frustrated. Not knowing what things are and how to behave is really grinding on his nerves. ]

[ He's just trying to help, Theon! And frankly, watching him stumble around the ship is just sad. But he knows the hands off gesture better than anyone else and backs off. ]

Yeah. How do you know you haven't if you don't know what one is?

[ Shaking his head ]

Never mind. You have to stop doing whatever it is you're doing.

[ He sticks a finger in for a taste; it's not awful, it's edible and a bit spicy? Like a spicy banana. The important thing is: ]

It's edible. And it's going to be muck anyway. Might as well get the most of it.

[ He shrugs then peeks at what Remus has in his bowl. ]

I take it you're not a fan.

[ He does it.

Powder is on top. It's some kind of white cheddar mix and he's not quite sure what he feels about that. Anakin looks down then at Shinjiro with a sigh. ]

Yes, I am eating this. All of it.

[ No need for Jedi abilities to figure out what Shinjiro was going to ask ]

[ Shinjiro grimaces. ]

I'm not even sure it counts as food.

[ Rude! Anakin makes a face back but he steps back and lets Shinjiro have a go at the powder dispenser... if he dares. ]

Well, it's food for me. And it's good thing you're not eating it.

I will be soon enough.

[ He glances at the available protein foodstuff and shakes his head. ]

God, no. I miss proper food. I mean, I'm grateful I'm not starving, don't get me wrong--

[That's been worry enough at home, god knows, though James has helped him as much as he could.]

--but my god, it's awful.

Armory

[Ray's made it apart of her routine every day to keep track of the armory's inventory and to clean and dismantle every weapon she had the ability to. Which, it turns out, was every since one.

Every day after noon she could be found going and staying for at least an hour. ]

Washroom

[Ray had been going out to the Station every day now. Usually she came back after a good eight hours or so but today she hadn't left at all, and instead looked as if she was getting ready for a date of some kind. She stood in front of the sink, staring at her reflection in the mirror as she started putting on some eyeliner.

While she was still wearing her baggy shirts and pants, there was a slinky dress hanging on one of the shower rungs near her as she worked putting on a face that would be a little more enticing than usual.]

Paisley

[Or you can simply bump into her anywhere on the ship!]

[ He chuckles quietly and forks a slop covered square piece of maybe chicken, pointing the thing at Remus. ]

It's not as bad as it could be. They actually let you have flavors here. The ship I was in command of before I got here, we receive ration bars in bulk. And they are completely tasteless. You might as well eat the box it came in.

It's that or stock up on whatever food you can find on planet-side. You better do it soon too. Who knows when we leave.

[ He shrugs and shoves a block in his mouth. ]

I'll be doing that, too.

[ He gives another mournful look at the protein stuff before sighing and preparing some of it for himself. ]

[Whenever Stefan appears in the kitchen, it's for a brief moment while he brews his usual cup of tea - or a whole thermos! - and vanishes back to his room. No baked goods (cookies, ma'amoul, baklava) or dinner from him for a while. Sorry, crew: he'll be back to business as usual later.

Very rarely, he's in the med bay, mostly to re-arrange things to accommodate their second lab support. But even that's brief, because otherwise, he's holed up in his room (or Alex's, should you catch him coming out of hers). Nights are sleepless too; if you're up late, you may catch him on the bridge with a diary and pen in hand. His entire mood is melancholy, like he's struggling to hold the weight of the world. Sometimes, he thinks he actually is.]

[ Theon knows he must look pitiful, but he intends to handle it with the tact and grace any Greyjoy would--

That is, by refusing all help and acting without tact or grace at all. ]

Whatever it is I'm doing?

[ That clearly hits a nerve. ]

You know nothing about this.

[ After all, half of this is about private home-related matters. ]

Max's room

[Chloe isn't actually a member of the crew and yet she sure does seem to be around a lot, doesn't she? At least three or four days a week, mainly in the morning or evenings. She might, even, be caught coming or going out of Max's room during the night, heading for the bathroom. In her pajamas (read: a t-shirt and underwear), even. No shame.]

Exploring/wandering/wildcard

[At other times she could be found in the kitchen eating their food, or hanging out in Max's office reading her communicator, or just wandering around killing time. She's typically gone in the middle of the day, back to her own ship, at least...]

Sorry to hear that. [At that, Stefan glances down at his wrist, then back at Theon.]

You've got a couple of choices here. I could give you the usual ice and medicine... or I could give you something from home.

If you want the medicine from my world, that's fine, but it has to be a one-time thing. [Because he sure doesn't want to be responsible for a vampire!Theon.]

[Chloe had been pretty lucky with not running into people in the bathroom when she was visiting Max, but this time when she poked her head in, she found...a woman she didn't recognize (which was fine) clearly getting ready for some kind of fancy shindig.]

[So she couldn't help but be curious. After she peed and while she was washing her hands, anyway.]

Hot date tonight?

[She asked with a bit of a grin.]

[Vima feels that something is wrong as soon as she steps onto the Paisley--it's not a sense of danger, but of sadness. She hasn't experienced that before. And she also knows that it's Stefan's.

She heads to the kitchen with quick steps, in time to catch him in mid-brew and see the thermos.]

Careful. You don't want to overdo it on that stuff.
