( he looked at me like i was stupid, i'm not stupid )

Who: Members of the Huntress and visitors!
Action: The U.S.S. Huntress!
When: It's a mingle for the month of March!

[ it's that time of year! also, pr was on hiatus for a bit, and needs to throw herself into things, so indulge me!! ]
nerdeology: (heard about the clueless shepherd?)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-03-07 01:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[You can tell Mikleo's the one who did it with how damn pleased with himself he is when he glances over. Nothing beats the experience of making real food.]

I did, yes. Help yourself if you'd like to try some.
beardstrokes: (The young are often underestimated)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-03-07 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you. What's the occasion?

[ Good food seems to be a thing when diplomats are in town. Otherwise, Obi-Wan makes do with ration bars. ]
nerdeology: (what? I didn't say anything)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-03-08 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
Does there have to be one? I found ingredients on the station, so I baked them.

[Sometimes you just gotta cook, man.]
beardstrokes: (And end with the truth)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-03-08 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
[ What a bizarre notion. ]

Well, I appreciate the effort.
nerdeology: (and she was really annoying)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-03-08 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[When you never get hungry you do it out of love.]

You might appreciate it more if you try it first.

[He hasn't found himself a human taste-tester just yet, and while he knows they're damned delicious, validation is nice.]
beardstrokes: (Where we are going)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-03-09 08:41 am (UTC)(link)
[ Obi-Wan recognizes it for the request that it is and politely takes a slice of cake. It was . . . sweet. A little too sweet for his tastes (sweetness is a luxury at times), but the kind that melted in your mouth. He lets an appreciative smile drift to the surface. ]

It has certainly exceeded my expectations.
nerdeology: (you're such a nerd)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-03-09 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well now he is immensely pleased. Yes. Good.]

I'm glad. I've been a little worried that being out of practice will mess with my cooking ability, but it looks like I've still got it.
beardstrokes: (A failure in planning)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-03-09 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
You're certainly better than me. I haven't eaten decent food since the war.

[ He can manage basic boiling and heating of food, but Force forbid anyone asks Obi-Wan to cook. ]
nerdeology: (i need another story to tell...)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-03-10 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
"The war"?

[Sounds like a story, though he tries not to sound too interested. Wars are upsetting for just about everyone involved, and humans are often the instigators and the ones to suffer most from them. Curiosity can't justify prying.]
beardstrokes: (Evil is not born)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-03-10 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
The Clone Wars. A rather complex reason for a long prolonged fight but it's not in my hands to decide.

[ A long masterful deception. Briefly, he wonders how his squadron was doing. ]
nerdeology: (so let's talk about that ruin)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-03-10 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
Clones... as in copies of something? Why would anyone have a war over that?

[It's not exactly a typical word where he's from.]
beardstrokes: (Always reflects where we come from)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-03-10 07:52 am (UTC)(link)
Not over the Clones. There was a split between . . . warring nations. We call it the Clone Wars because they're being fought between clones and machines.

[ Even talking about it is distasteful, though from his tone, it sounds like he's narrating off an article. ]
nerdeology: (with the giant statue that-)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-03-11 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
That sounds pretty complicated.

[He doesn't really get it, to be honest. Clones of what? How do you fight with them? What machines?]
beardstrokes: (Accepting it is harder)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-03-11 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Most wars tend to be. The reasons matter less and less as it carries on.
nerdeology: (it's hard to find a more upbeat one)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-03-12 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
What role does a man like you have in a war?

[He seems so chill and pacifist-y.]
beardstrokes: (The chosen have no choice)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-03-12 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
I'm a General.

[ Hard to believe, I know. ]
nerdeology: (it's a harrowing tale)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-03-13 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
[That is definitely hard to believe.]

You're not like any general I've ever met.

[Not that he's met a plethora of them, but those he have didn't leave great impressions on their quality.]
beardstrokes: (Is through vengeance)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-03-13 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
If it helps, it's more of a tacked on ranking. I know strategy well enough, but I am a Jedi first and foremost.
nerdeology: (no the other one)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-03-14 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds like it could be more of an inconvenience. A military rank usually comes with certain expectations, doesn't it?
beardstrokes: (To the tree of evil)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-03-14 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
That's true enough. A Jedi can fill many roles if the need is great, such as strategy or negotiation. Useful tools for a general. I can't say I favor wartime much.
nerdeology: (but the seraph had no time for humans)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-03-15 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
I imagine it takes the wrong sort of person to enjoy war. There's so much pointless death no matter what the reason for it is.
beardstrokes: (He who seeks to control fate)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-03-15 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
No. There are never any good reasons.

[ No matter what Anakin might say. ]

Still, the Jedi are duty-bound to help those in need. We cannot abandon people simply because we dislike the tides of war.
nerdeology: (you're born of mistakes)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-03-16 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
But which people are you helping? Does each side have Jedi, or are you certain that you're on the right one?
beardstrokes: (Than giving it)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-03-16 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
The other side has the Sith. The opposite of the Jedi. The Sith sow destruction, ruin . . . despair. I doubt they care which side wins, so long as everyone loses.
nerdeology: (i wouldn't threaten a soul)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-03-18 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
...I see... so you're fighting your natural enemy.

[Not unlike what he's doing with hellions. He can't really judge, in that case.]
