It comes to some relief. Though I wonder what state our galaxy is in right now.

I wonder that sometimes, too, though on a much smaller scale, admittedly. It sounds like it would be an overwhelming responsibility, worrying about the entire galaxy.

I try not to do it every day.

You'd probably be exhausted by now if you did.

This place has a decent amount of distractions, at least.

For the most part. I find it odd at times. I was never one to be in the same place for so long.

[nerdeology]

Does it still count as being in one place when the fleet is so often in motion?

[beardstrokes]

It does. Very rarely do I spend an entire month on the same planet. At the most, I would be there for a week or two.

[nerdeology]

It's the opposite for me. I spent eighteen years in the same village. It was only a few months before coming here that I started to travel.

[beardstrokes]

And now?

You've seen a little of space. How do you feel about traversing through it?

[nerdeology]

Ah... my feelings are mixed. I like exploring- that part has been very interesting. But I don't like the feel of space, or the ships. Seraphim are very much a part of nature, and this is as far from nature as you can get. The water here isn't... right.

[beardstrokes]

What do you mean?

[ He has felt disjointed to the Living Force since he got here, but that has never been Obi-Wan's strong point. ]

I'm not sure if I can explain it properly, but... I'll try.

[It won't be easy. It's such an integral part of who he is. How does he even begin to find words to describe it?]

Water is symbolic of life itself, for countless beings in existence. It sustains them, it sustains the food they consume, it makes things grow. In that way, it's connected to everything. Every drop has history no matter where you go. On a natural world, I can feel that... I'm a water seraph. It sustains me, too.

[He reaches a hand out to the sink, grasping, and a bubble of water is pulled from under the suds to rest in his hand, holding its spherical shape.]

This... it looks normal, but it's not connected to anything. There's no world, no life, and no power. It comes from nothing and is reused over and over, never changing. I've never encountered water before that was... just water.

It's not connected to the Living Force. It's not returned to where it came, not part of the Force's cycle.

[nerdeology]

[Huh. That's unexpected.]

Can you feel it, as well?

[beardstrokes]

Jedi are connected to the Living Force. It's how I noticed you, after all. We're sensitive to the changes in the lifeflow of the universe.

[nerdeology]

[He nods, lightly drumming a finger to his chin as he considers this, casually tossing the water back to the sink. Not a drop of it spills.]

I'm sure it's similar... so you can understand my issue.

I'm less connected than you are, but yes. I do understand why it would feel out of place.

[nerdeology]

I'd hoped that the parks on the station would help a little, but it's a similar problem on a much larger scale. There's more nature in those areas, and thus more connected and lively, but at the same time, it feels too fake to be normal. The whole experience is disturbing.

[He's really hoping they go to a planet soon, ugh. little does he know]

It's an unfortunate reality when it comes to life in space.

[ All of this is far too normal for Obi-Wan to think too deeply about. ]

Unfortunate is an understatement. I wish there was an older seraph in the fleet- someone who might have some experience with this kind of separation.

Perhaps you need to purchase a plant. Or make a terrarium.

[nerdeology]

Hmm.

[That sounds like more of an earth seraphim thing. But... actually, that makes him think-]

Fish. I know someone with an aquarium, maybe I could find something like that. Water, and life... it's something, at least.

It's not a perfect solution, but it should help.

The hard part is probably finding both a tank and the fish to fill it. I haven't seen anything like that on the station that I can recall.
