[Video] 1st Form
Who: Mystique and open
Broadcast: Fleetwide video
Action: Marsiva
When: Now.
[For any that may be watching the new recruit's arrival they would recognize the instant she became conscious, even if she didn't move from the bed. Her form shifted, a change in coloration, blue skin to tanned Caucasian and fiery red hair to glossy blonde. Despite looking like she was still asleep and resting Mystique was hyper aware something was wrong, trying to identify her surroundings through her other senses as she continued to mimic sleep.
Yet several long minutes later after no attack or sounds of another living being, she rose smoothly and cautiously from the bed, eyes darting around to her new surroundings. Her face was stiff, frozen in a forced calm expression while her mind raced to figure out what the hell was going on. It looked like a facility, similar to the one Scott Summers had trapped her in and left her to be experimented on. A flash of white hot rage at the memory shot through her but she quickly shoved it back. She was repay him ten folds for that, but for now she had to focus on what was going on.
Her exploration of the areas was only increasing her frustration and anger, ignoring those others trapped with her for the time and slipping out of their way to try and discover what was going on. Yet it was another discovery that angered her greater than anything else; the augment. She had been chipped, a fucking implant placed in her, and if it wasn't for the information that was ever so slowly trickling through it, to tell her that no, this wasn't a government base holding mutants, or even related to mutants in any way, she would had ripped it right out of her skull. She was still considering it actually.
Instead she looked to find the cameras, the ones she now knew were watching her, unable to keep a snarl from her face as she let her true form show.] Whoever thinks that I'm happy to be part of your little freak show, you're sorely mistaken. Or you will be once I get my hands on you.

Y- you...
[He lowers his head, closing his eyes and softly shakes his head. Then he mutters weakly.]
You're gone.
[But he won't correct her on the cause. That's one thing he can't bring himself to admit out loud, even aside from all of the trouble it would stir up.]
There was a twinge of regret, of losing the chance to see Irene one last time, yet also anger. Those two emotions always seemed to intermix with her, that unshakable love she had for the woman, and the anger at what she said had to be done. Just because Mystique followed her rules didn't mean she always had to like them, no matter how important they were. And that was where she swallowed her pride, went against what she wanted for herself or others, and did what had to be done.
The world did not revolve around her, she knew that. This had all been for the betterment of mutantkind.]
I see. [Was all she managed to get out for now.]
But after that moment passes, Kurt slowly raises his eyes to look into the feed, and to see his mother's eyes once more.]
I'm sorry.
[So often, he has dreams and nightmares where things go differently and he catches her, or he fails even more incredibly. Now she's here and alive again, but Kurt still has trouble seeing that light.]
Re: [Video]
But... I still feel sorry. And I still wish that I could have stopped it.
And seeing him like this made Mystique glad events had happened how they did, that he had been lost to her, that he had found a family that could care for him. There was no room for this kind of softness in her world, it got destroyed too easily. If he had stayed with her he wouldn't had turned out like this. He would had turned out, well, like that other Kurt that was here, the one raised by another version of herself. Harsher, aggressive, defiant. That was not the boy on the communicator in front of her. He was not his mother's son.
He was not his father's son. And that was the most important thing.]
It's done, it's happened, can't be reversed. Not that it seems to matter here.
Yeah... It doesn't matter here. You're here, and alive. It... it might not be the end after all, you know?
[All of the things Rogue said about Mystique and what drove her to break her still weighed on Kurt. But for now, he holds onto this light hope. What if they could stop her from returning to death?]
Then- then I'm glad we agree! [It's weird, when he thinks about it. This could easily be the longest conversation he's ever had with his mother. And now that she's in space, too? There's a chance it can keep on happening. It's definitely something to get used to. He carries on with a light fondness.]
You are still breathing, and- and that's what matters.
It didn't quite sit right, not yet, but if she was stuck here, and so was he... there was a chance to do... something? She wasn't sure, didn't know what she wanted or if she should even try. She didn't deserve it.] I understand there are multiple ships, which one are you on?
