[For any that may be watching the new recruit's arrival they would recognize the instant she became conscious, even if she didn't move from the bed. Her form shifted, a change in coloration, blue skin to tanned Caucasian and fiery red hair to glossy blonde. Despite looking like she was still asleep and resting Mystique was hyper aware something was wrong, trying to identify her surroundings through her other senses as she continued to mimic sleep.

Yet several long minutes later after no attack or sounds of another living being, she rose smoothly and cautiously from the bed, eyes darting around to her new surroundings. Her face was stiff, frozen in a forced calm expression while her mind raced to figure out what the hell was going on. It looked like a facility, similar to the one Scott Summers had trapped her in and left her to be experimented on. A flash of white hot rage at the memory shot through her but she quickly shoved it back. She was repay him ten folds for that, but for now she had to focus on what was going on.

Her exploration of the areas was only increasing her frustration and anger, ignoring those others trapped with her for the time and slipping out of their way to try and discover what was going on. Yet it was another discovery that angered her greater than anything else; the augment. She had been chipped, a fucking implant placed in her, and if it wasn't for the information that was ever so slowly trickling through it, to tell her that no, this wasn't a government base holding mutants, or even related to mutants in any way, she would had ripped it right out of her skull. She was still considering it actually.

Instead she looked to find the cameras, the ones she now knew were watching her, unable to keep a snarl from her face as she let her true form show.] Whoever thinks that I'm happy to be part of your little freak show, you're sorely mistaken. Or you will be once I get my hands on you.

Fu-- (if the communicator had a cover, it would be slammed shut for a good long time as Rogue has to go calm down.)]

[It's only a moment of video where she has blue skin and deep red hair, but the combination and the shifting away from it leaves little doubt to who just arrived. She's not sure how to feel about it. Normally, seeing faces she recognizes is a good thing, but this face has very little to do with her and everything to do with her Kurt. And probably not just him. She remembers the way the other Kurt reacted to the name "Darkhomlme." Rogue's here too. Sure, maybe she was raised by someone else, but maybe she wasn't.

Kitty hasn't had much reason to bring up Mystique to other X-Men she's met so she hasn't heard any stories except that the Erik here knows her and of course what she knows about the version in her world and the less flattering tales of her never made their way to Kitty before the end. She has little reason to suspect anything negative. She's mostly just worried how her Kurt is going to feel about a different version of his Mom. And she does think she's dealing with a different version here if only because of the hair.

She does finally respond though.]

If you can get your hands on them. Intangible enemies are the worst. [Little joke for you. She wonders if this Mystique will recognize her.] They haven't shown themselves in the time I've been here.

I'm pretty sure no one is happy to be here, and the ones responsible have never been seen outside of talking at us through a screen, so it would be an interesting trick to get your hands on them.

Also? Most of us aren't going to appreciate being called a 'freak show'.

[There is no hint of recognition or any real reaction at Kitty's appearance other than the shimmering anger that was so close to taking over and ready to explore.] And how long would that be exactly?

[The look Mystique gave the girl was hardly a kind one, more that she was being viewed as a nuisance than anything close to help. Yet the information was... well, helpful wasn't the correct term, as it didn't help her in any manner at all, even if it was informative and backed up what another had said.]

Well thank you for that insight, it was very informative. [It was said a monotone manner that clearly spoke how little Mystique really appreciated the answer. It wasn't personal, her anger was just so close to consuming her that anything other than having someone to blame right in front of her was going to leave her seething.]

[She shrugs, and has to will herself to not roll her eyes. ]

Didn't sound like you were asking for information. I can provide basically everything we know here, if you need it, but some people prefer to just dig through the network archives for themselves.

[The offer's genuine, at least, even if she doesn't think too highly of this weird person.]

[She was well use to rolled eyes, having spent years around teens and was well use to that attitude thrown her way. It came with being both a leader of the Brotherhood and acting as ex-principal of Bayville High.

However, the chance to get information was enough for Mystique to swallow back the need to bark out a snappy answer, holding her tongue as she seemed to considering the offer.] I'd appreciate that. [It was the closest she was going to get to a 'thank you' or 'please'.]

[She'd like to throw some water on that anger or whatever puts out anger. No telling who else is on the Marsiva, but it's no one who deserves to be on her bad side. Not that there are lots of happy things to say about being a prisoner here.] Two months for me and a little over a year for some people.

[She picks up the communicator, shaking the video feed for a moment while she sends over a link.]

There's the basic version. It's not totally comprehensive, but it's aimed at the new people, so it's best to not flood them with too much information to process.

[Very deliberately, Rogue does not make this feed private. It's much later, and she's holding her purpose firmly in her mind. Her hands don't shake when she holds the communicator.

It's unmistakably Rogue, even if she's six years older than the last time Mystique saw her, even if her make-up now favors dark red lipstick instead of purple and her haircut is at a different angle, there's still no mistaking the recognition and determination in those green-gray eyes.]

Hello, Mystique.

[Being it later in the day Mystique had manged to cool down a bit. She was still angry, still wanting to tear someone apart, but she was also thinking rather than reacting now and for now that meant going through the information others had given her and picking the Marsiva apart for clues or anything useful. After all, she was missing all her weapons and they provided a certain comfort, just to have on her person, even if she wasn't using them.

Yet that voice was unmistakable. Rogue. Turning to the communicator, having taken time during the day to work out how it operated, she glanced at a face both familiar and different. Older or not, she would know the girl anywhere.] Rogue. [Her voice was level, controlled, neutral enough to not let any emotion leak into it.]

[The communicator would... take a bit of time to work out, to understand how it operated and what it was capable of, but it and the information still seemed useful.] And if I wanted a more complete version? You are the person to address?

[She shrugs.]

If you'd like? I've been here for a long while, but I haven't been here since the start. One of them might be better.

And no one has manage to leave this jail? [That, that did not sit well with Mystique. Inactivity was one of her greatest hates, for people to just stand around and not do anything to aid a situation, to prevent something from happening, they deserved their fates. Only the strong survived, and the strong acted.]

[Guess who really hates survival of the fittest rhetoric?] People disappear. I haven't heard about anyone making it out by choice. But, you know, make some threats on the network. I'm sure no one has thought of that yet. [Kitty's guide to deescalating a situation.]

[Rogue's expression flickered, but she managed to keep her voice even.] I wanna make one thing real clear: I won't start anythin' if ya don't, but if you do, I'll finish it. It's a small fleet, an' it's probably best we steer clear of each other.

[While this was all taken in it was also quickly shelved away.] How long have you been here? How old are you now? [Clearly it was more important than Rogue's show of bravado.]

[Cute. Yet Mystique was semi immune to that kind of talk, she had been around snarky teenagers too long to snap that easily at a comment like that. Though she also liked to instill a sense of fear into those who made such comments, and that was more difficult to do over a video communication.

Seeing this going no where she instead addressed the other major concern she had.] And the implant?

Not removable. It gets messy if you try. And we tried.

Do you have any idea who I am?

That's none of your business.

[Well that didn't take much, did it?] It's a simple question, hard to put a second meaning behind it or try and trick you into saying something revealing.

[That was not the answer Mystique wanted. The implant was like a constant itch, she was super aware of it's placement, of it pushing against her skin.] No, I don't. [There was something to her tone that she didn't really care either.]

Hmm. Fair enough. [Not exactly offended. That's how these things fall.]

Who are you in a hurry to get back to?

[Ah, here it is. His first actual encounter with seeing someone he knows from home, and yet doesn't know. It's undeniably Mystique in the video - Raven - because he would know that form and that power anywhere. But a myriad of small differences make him pause, scrutinising the video. The clothing, the hair, the subtle difference of age... all of these could be a shift in skin for her. It would be unwarranted though, in moving from human appearance to mutant.

It's her demand at the end that really rings as 'other' to Erik. Not that he disagrees with the sentiment. Even so... it's been half a year since he last saw Mystique, in the aftermath of the Sentinels and the wound from her bullet still in his neck. It's with mixed feelings that he finally responds in video form, testing the waters.]

You're not likely to get a response from them.

What ya intend ta do with the information doesn't make it any more or less your business. Ya forfeited any interest in my life the first time ya tried ta kill me, Mystique. Ain't nothin' between us but space, an' not enough of it.
