[The feed shows what appears to be the Golden's main hallway, though there's no one in it. And yet there is audio. Someone is clearly talking.]

This is for everyone on the Golden and whoever might think about coming here. The second room on the left is off-limits. If I catch someone sleeping in here, I'm kicking you out. I don't care if you can see me or not. I can't see any of you, but I don't use your things or sleep in your beds.

[He scoffs and cuts the feed.]

[Dezel was given a mask, but he's not using it. It's hanging off his belt-- and it's decorated like a dog-- but don't you dare point that out. He's standing at the edge of the woods, arms out, little metal pendulums swinging from his fingers as he calls on his native element.

There's a wicked breeze afoot, tugging branches off trees and picking up dead leaves; anyone who can't sense seraphim will simply see a dust-devil whirling in place. But the important thing is that he's trying. And around here, the air actually seems breathable.

Before it's swept away into the unrelenting smog, that is.]

Ugh. This isn't working. [Damn it, trees. Do your job!]

[ooc: Dezel's sensing permissions are here. Over the network he can be heard but not seen, and in person, you have to have some kind of sensitivity to hear or see him. Shipmates who've been on the Golden for at least a month should be able to hear him either way, however.]

Most humans can't see seraphim. There have been exceptions.

I don't need the wind to smell you. [What a stupid question.] The wind tells me everything-- the shape of something, if it's moving, if it has a color.

[He shakes his head invisibly.]

Not really, but I just got here. [He waves at...Dezel's general direction!] I'm Sora.

...Huh. Even the wind from the air purifiers? ["Wind" is a planetary phenomenon, according to his understanding of the weather. Then again, it's not like there aren't a ton of alien races with weird abilities, like seeing further into the infrared spectrum or something.]

Dezel. [He considers, and then...] I'm a seraph. Not a ghost. My kind are elemental spirits; that's why most normal people can't see us.

Yeah. I can control it.

[Seraphim are the very definition of a weather phenomenon.]

It determines how sensitive someone is to the presence of seraphim. [All the people he's met who could see him were a little odd.] Or other supernatural things.

Sounds convenient if they ever break down.

[Mikleo isn't terribly surprised to see Dezel trying the same thing he's been attempting with the water- it's a natural thing for a seraph to want their element to be safe and clean. Even (as Dezel himself has said) a crappy seraph would at least try.

He's just in the middle of taking a break from his own attempts when he wanders into Dezel's work area. He watches quietly for a little while, but since he knows better than to assume Dezel won't notice him, he comes closer.]

You're going to have to be patient with this world, you know.

If they break down, we're going to have more problems than just air flow.

[A pause.]

What force?

Does your world not have magic?

[Worth asking.]

There's Pokemon, and some of them got abilities people might call magic. But I dunno if it is.

[Dezel is a crappy seraph, which is why he's not having too much luck with this. Or at least he thinks so. Clearly he needs to wear more gear with arte attack on it.

He glances in Mikleo's direction when he approaches, but finishes this round of purification first. The air is nice... but it dissipates like every other attempt. He's only one man. He can't do it all.

He straightens and dismisses his weapons.]

I've been doing this for two hours. I've been patient enough!

[... Dezel would never last at a part time job, would he.]

What's a Pokemon?

[Yeah this is...still weird to explain]

It's a kind of animal? Except they're really smart. And each breed's got unique powers. Like if say...a Shinx was in danger, it can make its fur glow bright enough to blind predators. And as it gets stronger and older, it can muster up enough electricity to send out shocks. Stuff like that.

[That... sounds really cute. He's not going to say that, but an animal with powers would probably be a great companion for a dude who has powers.]

Interesting. Too bad I can't meet one.

[See, he's really not that bad, Sora. Just... terse.]

Not all animals are unintelligent, though. A dog makes for a clever and loyal companion.

Yeah. I'm friends with a Shinx. I wish he was here so you could meet him. [And you know, also so he'd stop feeling so lonely.]

[But it's true. Sora's already starting to relax some. Someone who likes animals can't be all bad]

[He's practically a newborn in seraphim terms and he knows that much, good grief.]

[Like brooding. Or studying the wildlife. He turns away brusquely, forms a fist and sort of half-punches the nearest tree. He stands there with his fist against it.]
