So some people have looked at trying to disable the augments, which hasn't ended well, but what about what they do? I know that they give us - or enhance - a skill for our jobs here, and that they can give you additional skills or 'powers'.

( If you bought them or- however it happened. She hasn't found out that much about that yet. It's a whole work in progress )

But what about the skills we have, and our ship jobs. I was put into medical, and I had some medical knowledge before coming here - though the augment gave me everything else. Has anyone been given a job that they had never worked in before? Or something that they would never do? Or are we being perfectly selected?

( Because, even with the augments, putting someone in a job they had zero knowledge of before could cause something to happen. Unless they don't want to 'influence their ratings' that way )

And, related, has anyone ever changed their job?

I was brought as a communications officer. Not something we have where I am from. And I also did change jobs, just this past month. I... did not ask for the change, but it was given to me regardless.

Seems to vary, far as I can tell. Though I'm sure the people running the show don't just pick an augment randomly.

Can't say my augment was any different from what I was doing back home. Just bumped me up to speed with the technology.

I kind of wondered what would happen if I tried to remove my augment. You know, healing at all, but it still doesn't look like it would go very well. I'm not sure about powers, though. I know a lot of people have stuff from other places that they can do.

Well, you did do some protecting before, but I'd say it was a little different.

You'd think that having more than one would be useful. What are you now?

I don't think we'd really know if they did do it randomly.

No. I piloted an Eva. It's... [more complicated than she'll explain] like a giant robot.

Well, some. I know how to use these specific weapons, but I was already kind of in that area.

I come from a world where we are far, far below this level of technology that you have here ... we do not have flushing toliets, for one, but I was given the position as an engineer, and all that entails. I've done additional training with improving by reading, and practice, of course.

I am a tactical officer. And we received several drawers and spaces for storage with my job switch.

Suppose it would be hard to say. I just have a hard time believing it to be random. We're here to entertain. But they don't have any problems letting you switch out your augment for another.

[And there has to be a reason why they chose who they did. Not that he has an answer to that.

Then, unless you built anything from other materials before, it’s all new. Did the information from your augment clear up space and communicating or did you learn that yourself?
