[The video blips on, communicator turned to one side on a table as if it were never picked up. Of course, that's because it wasn't picked up. It takes a moment of focusing before something blurs on by, something that if you slowed the video feed down a lot looks a lot like a shirt. Maybe. Probably.

At least, that's the most sensible guess when someone can be seen mashing his face into a nearby window, voice full of awe and wonder.]

Whoa! That's so many stars! I mean, I've seen them before but it's like there are a hundred times more and they're so close! [Talon laughs, and despite the fact that his voice is relatively deep, he sounds... downright childish, really. His hair is shock-white, perhaps tinged with just a little blue to it, and it sticks out at odd angles to form a fluffy mess.

After a moment, he turns away from the window, revealing olive-toned skin, wide, brown eyes, and a bright smile that's far too wide and earnest to be faked.]

Haley, come here, you've gotta see this! [Haley? Well, judging by the way he looks around and finally pauses, he's... finally realised he's not in Kansas anymore. Welp.] ... Haley? Oh, I wonder if I made her mad last night...

[Scratching his cheek, he considers that for a moment, looking around the Marsiva.] ... Where are we, anyway...? [ISN'T THAT THE FIRST QUESTION YOU SHOULD HAVE HAD, TALON...]

[ Ah, newbies... Kotoha turns on her video feed in response - she's currently lounging in her bed, being a lazy bum, with a blanket draped over her head because the SS Heron is fucking cold, okay and a mug full of tea in the hand not currently holding the communication device. ]

I don't know anyone named Haley... but you're on The Marsiva! It's a space ship. welcome to space.

[ Uhhh hope you weren't expecting delicate news-breaking ]

[Did somebody order a slightly greasy pink pony? Because that's what's shows up on a stream a couple seconds after that last question.]

Ooh, OOH! I know this one! You're on the Marsiva, in outer space!

[Anything involving Talon should be about as delicate as a T-Rex in a gingerbread house, tbh. His expression when he hears a voice is surprised, followed by truly sparkling curiosity when he spots Kotoha on the video feed.

He scrambles over to his communicator an picks it up, screen going even more wonky than its sideways starting point.]

Whoa! You enchanted a little bracer thingy? That's cool, are you a wizard?!

[CHILD... THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE HERE...]

What is-- ohhh. [He gets a look of recognition on his face, and Kotoha might think he's just registered her words. That happens about half a second later, though there's no appreciable difference, at least. I guess.]

Wait, the Marsuvius? [You weren't even listening.] A 'space' ship? Is that bigger than a cargo ship? Why would someone make a ship to carry space?? ... OR WAIT! Is Space in Shalebrim? I've never been there before! Why did I end up in Shalebrim...?

[Talon. Kotoha hasn't confirmed that. Stop being stupid. I KNOW THAT'S HARD.]

[Enjoy that thousand yard stare, Pinkie. Talon has to register... er... well he has to choose what to register, actually. When he does, he snaps his fingers, grin only broadening.]

So it's outer space! That definitely sounds like it's in Shalebrim! Right, right? [Look at that shining puppy face. Look at it. Then he squints at the monitor, leaning in.]

...... Waitaminnit! Hella Jeff, is that you? You look more pink! And you can talk! ... And you sound like a girl pony!?

[I do not know you, child.]

Not a wizard! It's technology, not magic. I thought it was pretty cool when I got here too.

[ She laughs quietly, honestly way too amused by all of this. At least he's in good spirits! And at least she didn't scare him off with the space thing, though she did seem to... confuse him?? Ah well, she smiles and endures. ]

Close~ Marsiva. And I don't know, maybe it is? But it's a ship that's meant to be in space! I don't think space is in Shalebrim, but Shalebrim is... technically in space, I suppose. If you want to be incredibly literal, or wax poetic~

[ Kotoha likes making things worse, could you tell... ]

Hm, don't know where Shalebrim is, but the Atroma took me from a whole other world! Aaaand nope, don't think I've met anypony by THAT name before!

Wait, does that mean you have ponies in your world?! How many, what kinds, does that mean there are humans AND ponies?!

[Child, slow down, he's never gonna be able to answer you at this rate!]

[ NO. You never question space and all its infinite wonder. Space is cool and amazing and he should love all over it. ]

But if Shalebrim's in Space, then Space isn't a city... and Shalebrim's a country, so... Space is a... [WAIT WAIT WAIT shit what was the word-- his expression goes blank for a moment as he tries to remember] A continent? But I think I'd have heard of a continent with a name like Space...

[This is going nowhere.]

Whoa, another world?! Wait, so Space is in another plane, then?! [So close, yet so far...]

Oh yeah! We have lots of ponies! And horses and like centaurs and stuff! [He gestures wildly was he talks.] But the centaurs are the only ones that can talk, because they have people-faces I think? Well usually the only ones. There's a ton of different kinds, though! We had like six breeds on the farm when I was little! [He looks so pleased with himself.]

[That's... um... kinda creepy. Especially since the only Centaur SHE knows was a psychopath bent on stealing all the magic ever. He was locked up in LITERAL PONY HELL for a reason!]

Ehhh?!? A centaur would decide what they wanted to breed with, right? I mean they're sentient...

[He tilts his head a little too far to one side, squinting.]

I didn't have any centaurs on the farm, though! Just a couple ponies and some horses!

[Aaaaand then he has to stop and think. Uhhhhhh...]

Welllll I've only met one of them? He shot at me with a couple arrows and yelled at me for wandering in the woods. I guess he was okay though? Maybe he had a family in there or something...

Okay, PHEW I thought you said you had centaurs are your farm too! But that sounds like a centaur, at least the one we have back in OUR world! At least YOURS wasn't trying to steal everypony's magic so he could rule the whole world!

[ HE DID...this is incredibly refreshing (except he would never consider himself an idiot). ]

[ She makes a "Bzzz!" sound, like he just gave the wrong answer on a quiz game show, and wags a finger at him with a grin on her face. ]

Nah, he was just kinda grumpy and surly! Like--

[And Talon's conversation drops off so he can make his surliest face, which effectively boils down to him FROWNING SEVERELY with his lower lip jutted out too far. It's pretty comical.]

Yeah!! Animals don't usually talk and stuff on Eyrion! I mean sometimes a wizard will enchant one or there's one that looks like an animal but it really isn't an animal and then they can talk... [Um. What?] Oh, or the magical ones that they make out of other creatures... but those are usually kind of berserk and dangerous so they have to be handled by adventurers...

Eh? [Eyes turning up in the video feed, he grabs at a strand of his hair to look at it.] It's the same as always, though! Most old people have silver hair, don't they???

[A beat.]

Oh but not always that, either! The pretty girl with the horns who never talked had silver hair too, and I don't think she was even as old as me!

[Kotoha why are you making lightning sounds. Talon blinks, and she'll probably be able to see the moment he takes that... completely literally.]

Huh? Well, it doesn't have steps, but a volcano...? That's both up and warmer, right? [You lost him.]

Pffft heeheehee that's a GREAT grumpy face! [Kinda reminds her of Cranky.]

Wait, hooow do you make something out of other creatures?

[FMA CHIMERAS?! You're telling me your world has FMA-style chimeras?!]

Pretty girl with horns...?? [ Did he not meet a pretty girl with horns?? This is a travesty and must be rectified immediately. ]

[ Oh, she sees it. Though she was hardly expecting him to come up with... th...at. Wow.

She'd headdesk if she were in any position to do so, but with no desk in the near vicinity, she'll settle for letting her head hang, with a heavy sigh. But she laughs a little, and she's still grinning when she straightens and turns her attention to him again. ]

Volcanoes aren't bigger than continents you know... I meant up in size~ If a city is in a country, and a country is on a continent, what's a continent on?

[ TAKE YOUR TIME, KIDDO. ]

Right, right? He was so grumpy! [Laughing, Talon shakes his head. He's still pretty genial when he responds to the question.]

Ehhh I dunno! I think it's a Wizard thing. Wizards and mages are weird and they like mashing things together. Like making sentient brooms! [He waves his arms, as if there's a reason for it, then blinks.]

Well, no? We have Chimeras too, but Chimeras are just one kind of magical beast! They have like three heads and wings and stuff. I dunno what a "FMA" is.

[Who tf is he talking to]

Yeah! She's a... a... [Ah... look at that thinking face. What was it again?] well she's not a demon! Her name's Onikko, and she helped us all get out of Hell! Oh, and I got to protect her from some big demon things.

... But huh. I wonder how I got here... and why Haley's not here. [He stretches out a little, and then comes to another realisation as he tilts his head back and... well, doesn't see the hilt of his enormous greatsword.] ... Wait a second, where'd my sword go?

Castle under the sea? That's like something out of a fairy tale... Anyway, no one knows how Atroma is bringing us here, but... they are. So, here we are! And I guess Haley's not here because they didn't bring Haley here. Which may or may not be a good thing, depending on how you feel about it.

[ Sword... hmm. She taps her chin. ]

Nah, usually fairy tales don't talk about getting stuck in a sinking gnome ship. [He's listening, I swear.] ... Huh. So I guess it's kinda like a new adventuring company, except nobody knows anything about the world....? That's kinda exciting, actually.

[Under the bed.... excuse him a moment, Kotoha. He apparently did not check there, considering he turns back toward the bed he woke up on.

Of course, it's not tall enough to conceal a six and a half foot greatsword, but you know.]

Hmmm, nope. It's kinda big, so I'm not sure where it went. I hope it's not in my bag of holding without the sheath. It could rip open the space thingy and then poof, we'd all be sucked in...

[It's one of very few things he has left, his bag of holding. About the size of a regular backpack, and he opens it up and reaches in to check around for a moment.]

[... Okay, the Atroma fourth wall they know about. But what if they figure out about US?]

You know how you're looking at me right now? That's because there's a device in there taking LOTS and lots of pictures every second and recording my voice, turning them into energy, and sending them back to you!

[ She'd been kidding about under the bed, but he's looking anyway. Doot doot~ But he mentions "bag of holding" and she squints, curious. ]

What's a bag of holding and why would be be sucked in if it broke?

[ ~~Apparently the one time she played a Dungeons and Dragons-esque game, they weren't fortunate enough to get that particular magical item!~~ ]

[... Maybe if we act really casual about it they won't figure it out.

Talon won't, anyway.]

... Wait, really? So it's not some kind of mirror-portal? I mean I'd never seen one this small, but Mages are weird.

It's a magic item--here!

[He holds up the bag to the camera, flap open so Kotoha can... well, kind of see into it. There's a... well, there's not as much as there used to be in there, but considering the size of the backpack, and the presumed length of what looks to be a random wooden staff hanging out in there, it sort of gets the point across.]

Basically, it's got a big pocket dimension thingy on the inside, so you can put lots of stuff in there and it stays light! [Light is a relative term, Talon]

Nope, not a mirror portal!

[Trust me, she'd know. Twilight especially has LOOOTS of experience with world-hopping through mirrors.]

[ She leans forward to get a better look, softly "Oooh~"ing with interest as she does so. When she sits back, she's grinning. ]

That's amazing! Though I definitely think I wouldn't want to be sucked into it. So don't break it, okay?

[ .... wait for it. ]

Could you fit a whole ship in there?

[ Oh dear. ]

Ooooh. I guess that explains why tapping it didn't do anything.

[As if to prove his point, he taps the communicator screen, creating a clinking noise on the recording.]

How does it work? [o3o????]

[He grins broadly (as if he wasn't already) at her grin.]

It cost like... 10,000 gold pieces, I'm pretty careful with it! I mean, that's not even half as much as my armour, but still.

[A beat at the question.]

Mmmm... I don't think so? This is the biggest one they make and I think it can only hold like 250 feet of stuff? [That's 250 cubic feet, but still] Otherwise, someone would probably have tried to put a Tarrasque in a bag or something...

[She... already said. Good thing Pinkie's people-patient, though!]
