video | r u freakin kiddin me

Who: Luke fon Fabre
Broadcast: Yes
Action: The Marsiva
When: The late morning

[Luke is already up and running around when the feed snaps on. He's got bright red hair and a long white coat, opened to show a red gem at his collarbone.]

Hey! Is anyone here? Can anyone hear me? I'm-- uh, I think I'm trapped! Hello?

[Wait, there's a red light and some kind of screen! He rushes over, not really recognizing this kind of technology but he'll take it. The stuff in the ranches was a lot like this, just less polished.]

There has to be a way... Maybe I can pull up a map? What would Jade do... Wait, I know! [He smashes a LOT OF BUTTONS. And turns the feed off in the process.

Oops.]

I appreciate the concern [kind of] but it's not something food or sleep will get rid of.

[Well, it's not like he's going to force anyone into conversation. Mostly he's just looking for something to keep himself occupied with, since being bedridden super sucks.]

No, SIX! Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty, Loyalty, and Friendship-slash-Magic!

That much is true.

[ Maglor laughs a little softly - sad and wistful, and perhaps fond, the memory of two half-elven children running into his arms dancing briefly in his eyes ]

The greatest heroes I knew came from the line of the Peredhil, the half-elven. So your world is very different to mine, it seems. They were strange, yes, caught between two worlds. But they had as much place as any - more, I think, considering their deeds. I hope your world finds reconciliation.

Hmm. I don't think I've heard of either of those places... I'm from Sakurashin, a town in Japan. I... miss home, too. I've been here a while.

[ She only lets her expression stay nostalgically sad for maybe one full second. Then, she's back to that little smile of hers. ]
bythewaves: (regard)

Very few things are, I find. [ Maglor shrugs a little wryly ]

I have never heard of the Desians, which is another piece of evidence that we are far separate! In time, at least, if not also space.

[ A soft huff ] We are hardly perfect! I am sure mine could learn from yours as well.

...A story?

[That's not something he expected, and- kind of out of the blue for a stranger. But he used to read for Sorey when he was sick, so... hmm. Not a bad idea.]
spontaneouscombustion: (The Element of Laughter)

[personal profile] spontaneouscombustion 2016-05-12 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)

Nope, I'M talking about the Elements of Harmony! I'll ask Twilight about those when I get back, but I'm preeetty sure Magic's just ONE element!

No... it's not weird at all, actually. I've done that, too.

[It's a bit comforting. If it's something that other people do, that means it's normal behaviour in human society, right? Which means he'd done right by Sorey.]

But don't feel obligated or anything. You don't even know me.
walljumper: (♫But the spirit never died)

[Shhh only STR here. He needs it as a... well as the kind of fighter he is. Honest.]

Nah, the heavens are more... [he gestures vaguely, staring upward for a moment.] sparkly. Usually there's like, harp music and stuff. And stuffy angels. [Solemn nod.]

This is just like... actually I dunno. It's kinda weird, huh. I think somebody said something about a Realm of stars, but I'd never gotten to go there...
maschinenpistole: (i don't need no sympathy)

It is.

[ You can hear the soft smile in her tone. She definitely knows home attachment very well. ]

Japan is... crowded. [ She laughs a little. ] Well, the cities are crowded. Sakurashin is a smaller town. Not as many people, but our population is a little more strange~

Ah, and it's warm, too - at least where I lived. I remember visiting another country once, and I was shocked at how cold it was! [ That's because it was Germany. West Germany. That's cold. ] But, it's very pretty. And it's home.

What about Tethe'alla? [ Beat. ] Heh, did I say that right?

Now you've got it!
nerdeology: (you're such a nerd)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-05-16 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, he's not about to look a gift horse in the mouth.]

To be honest, history is what interests me the most. Stories of the past are so much better than anything people can invent in their own heads.
nerdeology: (but she wasn't without hope)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-05-16 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
That's how a lot of history is, actually- small pieces of an incomplete story. Research and theory is what puts it all together.

[Considering his whole life has been hashing out a long series of mysteries based on tidbits of the past, this is just par for the course.]

If you're willing to share, I'd love to hear it.
nerdeology: (but i know of a few)

[There's nothing quite like a good story. Mikleo can remember the many, many times he'd settled into bed with Sorey, or curled up by the fire in Gramps' hut, and listened to a tale from one of the dusty old books they weren't allowed to read by themselves until they less rambunctious, more careful. It was one of the best things about Sorey being human, back then- having to sleep, for young humans, meant getting a bedtime story.

It's a pleasantly nostalgic feeling, and he settles comfortably in his bed to listen, soaking in every word.]
