[ Which wasn't the case, of course, but when you're a child and you're that high up it feels like nothing can stop you - nothing and no one. It had been amazing and freeing for a young Raven who still worried about being lost, about having this wonderful new life taken away from her, as if she might stumble somehow and lose Charles - but she hadn't, not then, and it was only in the future when she realised what she was missing that she had to walk away from all of the things she had been so lucky to get in the first place. She couldn't stay there forever, and she thinks that secretly both she and Charles had always known it.

Things are better than they used to be, and she embraces that; the idea of ignoring it just hurts too much. She needs him in her life and if ten years of isolation had taught her anything it's that abandoning him was just... Wrong.
