Ahh, so they're another word for explorers. That makes sense. There are those who do much the same where I'm from, as well.

So you and Sorey are gonna become explorers and do the same thing! I mean, if you aren't already. That's cool!

Well, technically we are already, but most of what we're exploring is old ruins, rather than the wild. Although we do plenty of that, too.

Ruins? Wow, cool! I've only been to the old city ruins, but, not very far.

What's the coolest thing you've seen?

Coolest... I don't know how I would even choose something like that. Every place we've explored has been amazing.

[He can at least give it some thought, but oh man. They've all got their highs and lows.]

Really? There wasn't any that you preferred over the others?

[nerdeology]

Hmm... well, if I had to choose, probably the ruins of Lefay. The entire area was woven together by powerful magic, and every room had a rich history to discover. The architecture was especially beautiful, and it didn't hurt that it was full of incredibly pure water.

[The fact that the water was still pure at all given the number of powerful hellions lurking about spoke volumes of the power of Amenoch, and of the guardian seraph watching over it.]

Wow... [Honestly? That does sound pretty impressive. Magic wasn't really a thing in his world] Is pure water like...really clean water?

Essentially, yes. Untainted physically, of course, and more importantly, not affected by spiritual corruption. It's rare to find water like that outside of a seraphim's blessed domain.

Spiritual corruption...?

[nerdeology]

We call it malevolence, specifically. When living creatures build up negative or conflicting thoughts and emotions, it can generate a kind of darkness that infects them. Too much malevolence, and it can spread to the environment or others around them.

That sounds...bad.

It's very bad. But there are ways of keeping it under control, at least, and it works differently here, so try not to worry about it.
