text.

If anyone - for whatever reason - wants some novelty fridge magnets, there is a sponsor crate of them on the Heron. You can take as many as you want, though there isn't that much variety.

I will note at the outset that no, there are no alphabet pieces.

[Along with this rather brief message is attached a photo of the crate's contents. Half the magnets seem to be little cartoon planets. The other half are... well... magnets.]

action.

[Anyone inclined to visit the Heron to take up this exciting offer - or just to visit - will find Erik leaning against the crate in the cargo hold. He has a number of the magnets suspended in the air above one hand, and every few minutes he flicks his fingers, sending one flying into the hull wall.

The crate itself is emblazoned with the message "To the most ATTRACTIVE guy on the Fleet! - Magnecessities". Maybe that's part of why he looks faintly irritated.

Flick goes another magnet.]

[he steps closer to peer into the box, eyebrows raised. He's seen Erik's powers before, but most of the time it'd either been in a destructive or convenient way. And while he knows Erik is capable of more than that, he doesn't think they've even spoke about it]

A strong box would be useful. You wouldn't have to melt them down first?

[he's admittedly curious, but hey, if it provides a distraction from being annoyed, well. Hank will keep asking questions]

[his eyebrows furrow at first as he watches, before shooting up in surprise. He doesn't bother to hide how impressed he is]

That's amazing.

[ah. It did explain some things, like how he couldn't see any metal when he'd gotten and up-close and personal look at the one trying to kill him, or why it still went after Erik and Raven after he'd managed to trick it]

I had wondered how you managed that.

I figured. [he's long past the point of being sore that Erik tried to kill him. He left those feelings behind in Kyriakos]

[gasp Erik are you giving him some of your precious metal again. He catches it, turning it over in his hand]

Have you ever made one before?

Mm, I guess it's a little pointless if you have no reason to store anything in it.

Ah - yeah, I have. Raven and I went looking for it. [he considers for a moment, then pulls a book from his back pocket and sets it on the crate. Erik might recognize it as the same book he kept on him back home, too] It gave me this.

[he nods, staring at the book for a moment before glancing back to Erik] Right. Viva gave it to me before we left.

[Hank pauses as well, before he speaks up] What was it?

[whatever he brought back from Kyriakos had been placed in his office, save for the book - that he carried with him, because it held so much more meaning to him.

He leans over a bit to look at the locket, though, a bit surprised. He'd only heard a couple of things that tree had given people, and seen the picture it had given Raven, but this . . . this was a lot more than a book or a frame]

I see . . . I'm glad it gave you something so important.

[he raises an eyebrow at what Erik says, then shrugs a shoulder, reaching for his book]

It does, I suppose, but we've experienced much stranger than that.

Mmm. At least this time, it's a nice kind of strange.

[that was less of a familiar thing]
