Broadcast: Video
Action: Iskaulit
When: 8/13

[hiro has claimed a corner spot in the engineering lab. many things from his shop on the bishop are here, but he hasn't abandoned his home shop at all. currently, he's spinning in the chair he's got. then he sets the camera down on the desk, facing him.]

Heeey, all you engineer-types, and not just the ones with the augment! Have I got a proposition for you. I've got a little project I'm working on--a repair project. It's a little outside my current scope, plus I don't think it's safe to be working on it alone. It's a... very advanced prosthetic. [he figures those who know about the attack two months ago will pick up on this.]

Anyway, I need some help. And I guess, if anybody wants to learn a thing or two about robotics from the professionals, you can come watch when we get together.

So! Any takers?

Hi, Hiro! Sure, I can help out a little bit! Might be able to learn some stuff too, I REALLY need to work on my wiring for the stuff I'm working on!

[An advanced prosthetic, is it? While it could be something other than the obvious, it's an interesting project regardless.]

I'm familiar with many aspects of robotics myself. Would this be a vibranium-based prosthetic, by chance?
unbearablynaive: (ah yes)

It's easiest to manipulate with heat-based tools, as are most metals - lasers and the like. There's not any extra, as it's the rarest metal on my Earth and, as far as I've been able to tell, only present in my own timeline's Earth. But I do know a great deal about it.

Lamps for Gummy and Drogon. Finn and I were talking about what Gummy eats and then he brought them up and I realized I TOTALLY didn't make any in case they can't have any sunlight for a while, like on the moon or if we go somewhere cold.

[Mildly embarrassed because got too caught up with things but still wants to be a good gator mama.]
spontaneouscombustion: (SQUEE!!!)

Oh, you do?! YEAH, that'd be GREAT, thank you SO much, Hiro! I can come over and pick them up! And what kind of snacks do you like?

[And it gives her a chance to chat with a certain cute pilot of theirs~]

Using what remains and any scrap metal reforged to suit should suffice, especially if it's component-based so as to switch out a piece with an upgrade when it becomes available. Metal has been scarce on the worlds we've been to recently, but we're about due to hit another planetary system or station soon enough.

Do you know if there's much in the way of scrap from the encounter?

[Tyrion rubed his chin thoughtfully.] I shall be happy to assist - or at least peek while the rest of you work.

[an advanced prosthetic needs repairs, you say? yeah... he's got a guess...]

not robotics but if this prosthetic connects to tissue i can help

I have a prosthetic arm myself if you want to take a look at the neural interface. And of course, I have my own designs for spares too.

[He does know someone with a trashed arm... besides that, it's outside of his personal building experiences, so it could be an interesting endeavour. His knowledge of robotics is limited to the Sentinels.]

I can assist. I've had some experience with reading robot schematics.

I'd be happy to help if you still need people. No augment, but I've got engineering experience.

[Okay, so he's a little embarrassed to even be asking this, but. You miss 100% of the chances you don't shamelessly grovel for, right? Right.]

Hey. If there's some sort of engineering-and-science-prodigy prosthetics think tank happening, is there any way to . . . you know, get on a waiting list? Volunteer as a future project if you guys get bored?

I mean, I get it if this is a one-off for a buddy. No hard feelings, especially since I honestly don't have a lot to offer in trade. But I had to ask.

Gotcha, no peanuts! Thanks a LOT, Hiro!

[Sure enough, when Hiro gets back to the Bishop, he'll find a HUGE tray of chocolate chip cookies, and a note featuring smiling drawing of a pony, a gator, and a tiny dragon.]

Dear Hiro,

Thanks again for the lamps, these'll work perfectly! See, Gummy and Drogon are already BEAMING! Hope you have a great day and enjoy the cookies!
