[He manages to half-block the next bolt with a twist of his wing, just in time- it still hits, of course, and it still hurts, but it doesn't catch him in the face, so it mostly just makes him angry. It's effective in accomplishing her goal, though unfortunately it comes hand-in-hand with him moving faster towards her, looking to snap her up in his jaws.
The downside of being so much larger and more bulky is that he's much slower than he used to be, and that makes him easier to dodge, but with all of those stomping feet (with massive claws accompanying them), it's a precarious way to dodge.]
