That's part of the point. I try and see things from other people's perspectives because I didn't get a lot of that when I was young. My father was... he had a great sense of humor, but he was more adamant about what he wanted me to be than what I wanted, my mother and brother didn't understand at all, and it wasn't like I could be myself around anyone in the villages we lived in. Too dangerous. I really just had my sister to relate to, and even then she and Carver were always closer, I think. I mean, it makes sense, being twins.

[He shrugs.]

I just remember wanting to talk to someone so badly about everything and not have them judge me for it, but I never thought I'd get that. When we fled to Kirkwall and I got involved in the mage rebellion, I learned that even if I never had that, I could at least be that for other people, you know? They had it far worse than I ever did, it's the least I could do.
