[The idle video feed doesn't catch much to start - as soon as Betamax is awake, she's dressed and out the door. It might catch a couple faint echoes of Argos? Argos! Joseph? as she flies off searching for her friends, but eventually she's wandering back and noticing the device as she enters the room.]

[She picks it up and gives it a brief looking over, her facial plates shifting in thought. It's pretty apparent to her what it is and what it's doing; she's dealt with similar tech before. She holds the camera out at arm's length as she addresses it.]

This ship is far too technologically advanced to belong to the Technicians, and I know there's nothing this nice and big in my own world, so ... where am I?

And has anyone seen Argos?

What? Like the catalogue shop?

A what? No, no; he's not a shop, he's a Titan. He's my friend.

I mean, I guess you could say he was almost the size of a shop ... but I don't know about catalogues. That's more my thing.

[She's definitely crestfallen to hear that; shoulders sagging slightly, facial plates shifting into a small frown.]

Oh, okay. Well, thank you for your time. [Maybe Argos just hadn't made himself known yet? Maybe she beat him here, wherever here was, and he'd show up eventually? She wasn't about to give up hope so easily.]

Do you have a name? Store or, otherwise? [She's have to wait out for Argos, but until then it might not hurt to get to know some of the locals.] You can call me Betamax.

Don't mention it. Really. At all.

[Because he absolutely doesn't give a shit about anyone, obviously. ]

Crowley. Not a store, though I do actually own a bar, so there's that.

...Your name is seriously Betamax? Do you have a sibling called VHS?

You're not the first person to bring that up, it's a video system, right? Someone in the Box mentioned it.

I don't know about siblings, though; some of the details got lost in time. I guess it's possible?

[at least she does her staring before she opens the feed. She knows it's rude, but - is this a robot? Or something else? She has so many questions]

Um - it looks like you're on the M-Marsiva. That's where people first wake up when they get here.

It is a really nice ship. I haven't seen a ship this size intact since ... well, ever.

So I am in another pocket dimension? I wonder what the chances are that I would end up in another. I mean, we only ever theorized they existed but to have traveled to two ... [She mutters away at herself and falls silent for a moment as she things, facial plates drawn up in a thoughtful frown, fist tapping a metallic tok tok on her chin. She's definitely not human (at least, not anymore).]

The introduction had said we were part of a reality series? That's a form of entertainment, I'm guessing? I hope so, I'm quite done with being a test subject.]

[She looks back at the feed, staring at the other woman with a fairly blank expression, and then her facial plates shift into a smile. Her eyes - white optics - are bright.]

I am Betamax. You seem to know what you're talking about, have you been here long?

[goodness she hopes the poor woman (robot???) doesn't think she knows what she's talking about. She's polite enough not to interrupt, but once she's finished she shakes her head]

N-No, I'm - I've only been here a few weeks. My name is Winnie. Um - I think this is a pocket dimension? Or - um, there's a lot of people here from different worlds, so . . .

But yeah, we're - we're on a reality show. There's s-supposedly an audience watching us and - rating us? It's stupid.

It is tricky. Once for Guardians, twice for Exo Guardians. I'm the double whammy of tricky.

I don't really have an opinion on the actual Betamax whatever it was, but as a name it seems to suit me alright.

What's yours?

I wonder if we're that worth watching? [She's new, so she has nothing to compare it to right now, but judging from some of her fellow Guardians, she's sure there's potential for some prime entertainment anytime you get a group of people together]

Are you alright? You seem a little nervous. [She's trying to be polite, but at the same time ... she's curious about what this lady. Is there something worrying her? Or is this just her general disposition? If so is there a reason it's her general disposition?]

I'm told we are, but - [she shrugs a shoulder] I don't really see how. I mean, I guess - pulling people in from different worlds is entertaining at first . . .

[she blinks at the question, then nods quickly] Y-Yes, I'm fine - er, sorry, it's not you. I'm just . . . like this.

[it was a trait amplified significantly with her death. She had to wonder if that was a side effect of spending so much time in the afterlife]

Oh, you don't have to be sorry. I'm just curious. [Even more curious, at this point.]

But - as strange as it sounds, I don't quite mind this compared to the last place I found myself. [Even though she missed Argos dearly; living life for the sake of entertainment was a fair bit better than the way they were treated by the Technicians.]

Oh. That's not bad - um, being curious.

[she tilts her head, her own curiosity clear on her face] What was the last place you went to like?

[she pauses, and after what looks like her gearing up for something, looks slightly apologetic]

And - I hope it isn't rude to ask, but - but are you some sort of robot? I-I haven't seen someone like you before. Not outside of a movie, anyway.

Oh! I'm an Exo. Uh, I guess I am kind of a robot? I mean as far as I'm aware. I'm all, I mean I'm not biological, anymore. I used to be human. I don't really remember it, though. Memories tend to get lost and scrambled in the wipes.

The world I was in before was ... terrible. Terrifying. We were subjects for experimentation, essentially. Not everyone we shared the Box with were ... pleasant, either.

I'm due for a vacation, I think. [She nods, facial plates shifting into a small smile.]

Whoa . . . wipes - wipes aren't a good thing, but that's - really cool. I've never heard of an Exo before.

[she's talking to a robot who used to be human that is awesome.

That - sounds really terrible. Why were they - why would they do that?

T-They don't do that here, at least. I don't think they do. It's been - nice so far.

I never got to find out, really. They had something happen to their initial location shortly after I arrived; most of my time there was spent in transit, and we hadn't quite settled when I left.

But I'm here now. [Yes, the Box was awful, and she'd had some pretty truamtatic times there, but she's not one to dwell on it.]

So! What do you like about the fleet?

Oh. I'm - glad that you didn't find out, then. It doesn't - sound like it would be very nice.

[she's more than happy to change the subject, but she's probably going to give answers a little different from everyone else]

What do I like? Um - there's a library on one of the other ships, the Iskaulit. I-I like to read, so I spend a lot of time there. Um . . . there's all sorts of different people here, too. Like - like elves, and ghosts, and people who aren't human. It's - interesting.

Well, if you can work it, then that's all you need.

Oooo, I do like libraries. [Betamax definitely smiles at the prospect, filing Iskaulit for later. However, when the other women mentions Ghosts, Betamax's face really lights up - almost literally.]

Ghosts? There are ghosts here? W-which ones, whose, do you know? [She actually grabs the communicator and draws it close in excitement. She is actually thinking of an entirely different definition of Ghost. She's been without hers since her arrival in the Box, previously, and she still misses him.]

There's a lot to choose from. I-It's really decent, so - you'll definitely like it.

[she blinks in surprise and - despite there being a screen between them - leans back a little bit. She has never seen someone so excited over ghosts - which, well, that's good for her personally, maybe]

I don't - um, they don't belong to anyone? They're just . . . normal ghosts. Um, t-they don't haunt anything, though. They're just sort of - here.

[Once she's off this homeship. If she's allowed off this homeship? She's not sure how it works but she's going to start feeling cabin fever in pretty short order.]

But, no, I don't exactly take the regular stuff. I do like the atmosphere, though; you can learn a lot from people in bars. [When they're drunk and looser lipped and also, they can be funny.]
