goldenglasses: Maker on LJ (Damn I look good!)

Who: Vash and you!
Broadcast: Open to all
Action: The gardens of the Iskaulit
When: During the afternoon

[Those communicators are such tricky things sometimes! Vash is visiting one of his favorite spots on the Iskaulit: the gardens. He can often be found here and today he's just feeling happy. No reason. It just happens sometimes.

Just like how communicators sometimes turn on. Like when they fall out of your pocket while you're sitting down. Enjoying the view. So the enjoy the view from the communicator as it looks up on a peaceful Vash who starts to sing softly. Not loud enough to bother anyone who may also be visiting the gardens, but loud enough for the communicator to pick up. It's a song that's also available from the media selection for anyone who's listened to it.

To Vash's credit. He's not a bad singer.]

Soooo. On the first celestial evening a pebble. From somewhere out of nowhere drops upon the dreaming world. Soooo. On the second celestial evening. All the children of their pebbles joined hands and composed a waltz.

[Feel free to interrupt at any time or just listen.]

[Guess who else is visiting the gardens. Go on.

She's doing a little work here, with the rudimentary skills she's been taught, when she hears the singing. It's a lovely song, and she doesn't recognise the voice-- a man sounds vastly different when singing. She stands up, dusting the small amount of dirt on her knees away delicately, before stepping in his direction.

Once she sees who it is, however-- she stops in the shadow of the trees, mouth tightening into a flat line, before she turns to go. He's not going to want her company, and she doesn't particularly want to give it.]

[He addresses her and she pauses, though she doesn't turn. But when she responds, it's as polite and gentle as ever.]

Yes.

...I could hope the same for you.

[She's not fooled.]

Help you didn't need. Though it could stand to have been clearer that you didn't.

[There was no bravery. Bravery has no place in an encounter where you know you have little to fear.]

Had I known, I would have left you to your own devices. [That man didn't have to die. But she refrains from saying that. It's unfortunate, but it's not a fault to be laid at Vash's feet.]

Perhaps next time you could find a way to inform the Fleet of your intentions so that such miscommunication cannot happen again.

The Fleet doesn't need to approve. Whether people here approve of your actions or not has no bearing on your own choices. They have no authority.

But many of them are good people. If they don't know why something is happening, their response can... be at odds with what you're attempting to accomplish.

[She doesn't think of herself as a good person. But nevertheless.

[And here's a pony with a soft smile once he's gone.]

Wow, Vash, that was really pretty.

You like to sing?

[He waited until Vash was done, just listening and appreciating.]

You don't do it very often, at least, not what I've heard.

...

Your concern extended to the slavers. [That was obvious, and something that had been niggling at her.] Why?

[ Softly, another voice joins in, a low humming that weaves around and under his song, like the low lapping of waves on a beach.

Maglor likes the gardens, and is often here. He's always happy to find another who loves music. He sits in the grass and listens and adds his voice to Vash's song. ]

Thank you.

[ He says softly when Vash is done ]
bythewaves: (second greatest singer)

[ He tips his head in a shy, grateful bow ]

I have not - but it was a gentle one, and I am grateful you allowed me that priveledge.
bythewaves: (shall I play something)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2016-11-26 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
It was very lovely - it put me in mind of a lullaby. And your voice is good, sir - do you sing?
bythewaves: (childhood peace)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2016-11-27 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
Your voice is like good enough. [ Maglor offers shyly and nods ] Then my thanks for the priveledge is doubled, if this is rare.

Am I interrupting you?
bythewaves: (Arnold grin)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2016-11-28 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
You did not turn me away nor refuse my efforts. [ Maglor points out dryly ] And I a stranger, in this place - that is privilege enough for me.

As am I - there is... too much metal, here.
