[Someone looks about half a beat from pouring himself a really strong drink. He's not looking depressed so much as just really confused.] The Caprine's feeling a bit empty, but hey. We've got a new captain. [He's not sure if he should ask for help or tell who's left on the Caprine to abandon ship.]

Pouring a drink for absent friends. [He didn't know Pinkie Pie or Daenerys well, but... they were crewmates and there's also a downed Enterprise not so very long ago, too.] I'd invite y'all to join me but the Caprine's a small ship, empty as it is.

[But he'll take visitors, should anyone get it in their heads to travel to the Caprine. Either way, someone please distract this man.]

_{[ A quick look at the register just to prove his suspicions... and then he's laughing. ]}

I suppose I can't be calling you Doctor anymore, now can I? Or giving you orders. Goodness, this is going to change our whole dynamic!

[Not too long after he makes his announcement, McCoy will find Beverly leaning in his doorway. She smiles and knocks on the frame with one hand, while the other holds something behind her back.]

You look like you could use some company.

[She steps into the room and pulls out a bottle of... well, some sort of alcohol at any rate, looks like maybe it could be whiskey or something very like it, which she sets down on the table.]

Grown-up company.

[Because there's something she needs to thank him for.]

Who's her captain now?

[ hm. peggy asks the question quite sincerely. she likes to keep at least a loose understanding of which ships have which captains. she hoards information. you can take the spy out of the war but you can't take the war out of the spy. ]

I am sorry about those who left. Daenerys seemed like a fine person and Pinkie was...improbable in every way. [And she'll miss her.] Captain. [Little smile.]

I didn't know 'em well at all, but. Crewmates.

That's too bad. [But now he doesn't have to miss them.] I bet there were a lot parties there.

[Of course he's laughing. Why wouldn't he? There is not a scenario in which he's not laughing.]

And why dynamic would that be?

[You are the actual best, Beverly. He greets her with a quick smile and gestures to the table.]

You feelin' more like yourself, then, huh?

You're lookin' at him. [Pause. Sigh.] Unfortunately.

Our captain-doctor relationship of course. You won't have time to be giving me those physicals anymore, you know.

_{[ He's still laughing, you can see it in his eyes. ]}

[ oh! ]

I guess you'll just have to keep traditions alive. Make things more pink. Do a lot of baking.
