[When not falling asleep at a moment's notice, Nami could be:

- on the bridge drafting proper emergency procedures in case of, y'know, impending attacks;

- unwisely taking a bubble bath, which means at some point there's a lot of spluttering and choking and swearing from the bathroom (yes, she's fine);

- in Bigby's old bunk room dealing with all this stupid hair;

- checking in on Aria;

- oh yeah. Falling asleep at a moment's notice. Is your shoulder comfortable? Hers now. Zzz.

By the 15th her glitch will ease off, so if you'd prefer a conversation when she's not prone to drool on your shoulder every now and then, that's a good time for it.]

[Aria is also falling asleep at a moment's notice, but honestly, that's probably less about the augment and more about how she's still recovering.

She does not like guns.

Either way, now that she's been in recovery for a while, she's healed enough to be up and moving to a limited degree, which she's been trying. And, well, she's going a little stir-crazy. So she can be found literally anywhere on the ship, poking into wherever people may be to look for company. In fact, she's very likely to just sort of appear near wherever anyone else is, in the bridge or the kitchen or wherever, before piping up.]

[Here's Aria, awake and ready to be checked in on... If Nami could stay awake for it.]

... Nami? Are you all right?

[Oh hey, awake Aria is a good sign. She would look more enthused about this if she could stop leaning on your doorway and yawning.]

Better than some. [Tired is not shot full of holes. She grins sleepily.] How're you feeling?

I am... well, I think. Wishing that there was a proper witch to be found here, but... I have felt far worse than I feel now.

[namisan]

There probably is one somewhere, but after the fallout I think most magical healers were tapped out. [Certainly nobody volunteered when she called for help. But then casualties were widespread.] You might be luckier if you ask around now.

[Just to get you that last step of the way.]

We took you to see Dr McCoy on the Caprine. [Yawn. She promises this isn't a boring conversation, okay.] He's a good doctor. An actual one, as opposed to just a passenger with an augment.

[but that involves posting to the network. sigh.]

Dr. McCoy? I have not met him, but it seems I owe him a great deal of thanks.

We thanked him on your behalf, but I don't doubt he'd appreciate it if you looked him up to say so in person.

It makes me miss Simon, though. [She comes all the way in, finding a seat.] Or just having a doctor here at all.

[She nods.]

I understand... I wish Triste or Melody were here, were it safer.

[...oh. He must have left before Aria got here. Has it been that long already?]

He was our previous ship doctor. [She makes a face.] And without him, we have no workable medbay either. It's...uh. Inconvenient. At best.

[she might just have trouble socializing, ok]

I see... Would that I could help more. I have no ability for healing magic, nor understanding of how to treat wounds without.

It is well that we so rarely seem to need such, here.

D'you know basic first aid?

I've done a fair amount of work in the field. [Which is what comes of being a thief in an abusive pirate gang who learns to practice self care.] Stitches and setting bones and things like that. I could teach you, if you like.

[Honestly at this point she's all for signing all the crew up for at least basic aid training.]

Only that which can be done quickly in the field. Hold pressure to wounds, do not remove an arrow, hold broken bones still, things like that. Triste has treated me often enough that I have picked up a little from her, but only a little.

[that's a good plan, honestly.]

I can teach you a bit more, then. I think it would be a good idea for the future-- though I'm sort of hoping we're not gonna have more trouble any time soon. [It's best to prepare for the worst.]

[foxpas]

I will learn all that I can from you, then.

[She lowers her head in an appreciative bow.]

Though I will pray such skill never needs see use.

You and me both. But it helps, sometimes, knowing you can help even when the fighting is done.

[Or especially when. She pauses to yawn.]

...anyway. I'm really glad to see you're more with it now. I've been wanting to ask you something.

[foxpas]

It does... I will be happy to learn.

[She notes that yawn.]

I am also glad to be recovered and speak with you again, but you need not push yourself.. If you rest, I will still be here.

[namisan]

[She grins tiredly at that.] It might be a while. I'm glitching right now. Closing my eyes tends to mean being ambushed by sleep, so... especially because of that, I think I should ask now.

I'm the Captain of this ship, but there are some times I'm obviously not gonna be around-- whether it's because of a glitch or injury or cryosleep or whatever. It's a good idea to have someone to step up, in that case.

I mean-- ninety per cent of the time there's no call for having to do anything at all, but if we were attacked again, I wouldn't want some of the less experienced people on board not to have someone to look to for orders.

... I understand.

[She nods.]

If you are asking that I be your second-in-command, I will accept, knowing the full meaning of the station.

[namisan]

That's definitely what I'm asking. [She grins widely.]

Great, then! When you're up to it, there's a way to apply for it on the computer system. You don't need to do that for me, though, so no rush. But if I end up leaving suddenly, it means the ship will recognise you as the next captain. It'll save grief if we get any, uh. Troublemakers on board.

But you need not worry. I am... rather accustomed to leading troublemakers.

Thought you might be. [With the conversations they had during the raid, at the very least.]

When you're out of bed and I'm no longer falling asleep all over the place, I'll go over some stuff with you. I'm going to install emergency procedures on ship for if this happens again.

And. [The smiles fades.] I'm sorry you got so hurt. But thank you.

[She listens attentively, but at the last bit, shakes her head, a soft smile on her face.]

It is all right. My wounds were obtained in battle, for a just cause. I do not regret them.

As long as you recover from them fully. Which it seems you will; just... take it easy until you're better, okay?
