[HEY!!!! That was uncomfortable, man!] Whaaaaat? They're a delicacy?

[Okay, so, Sorey is a lil bit hungry right now.]

I wouldn't care if it tasted like strawberry crepes, you're not eating it. Zaveid, stop encouraging him!

[He's gonna throw something at your head in a minute. Either of you. Or both!]

[airily]

I'm just telling you the truth! It's what they were!

[ But he's cackling too hard to really speak properly. ]

[monolike]

Mikleo, okay, fine, relax! I won't eat your pet. Even though it is food.

[nerdeology]

[Mikleo huffs, still exasperated but slightly mollified, and lifts the pengyon up again to examine it more thoroughly. It wiggles in his grasp, peeping more quietly.

He really wasn't looking for a pet. What the hell does he do with it now? Besides keep Sorey from eating it, obviously...]

Aren't these things supposed to give an item to each person who completes the trial? Why was there only one thing inside of it when technically the two of us were looking?

[airily]

Maybe it's because you two are armatised. It thinks there's only one of you.

[ Zaveid steps up to peer into the chest again, ignoring the fabric pressed against his skin. ]

[monolike]

Maybe... [Sorey swims over, peering past Zaveid's shoulder. The chest is empty, but then again it had seemed empty after Zaveid took his coat, too.] That's okay though, isn't it? I can't think of anything I'd like from home. Not stuff, anyway.

[nerdeology]

[Mikleo ventures over to join them as well, one of his capes draped over his shoulder and wrapped around the baby pengyon as a makeshift blanket, tucked against his arm.]

They could've at least given you some food. [A beat.] Actual food, that is.

[airily]

[ Zaveid's eyes flick between the coat in his arms and the baby animal before he shakes his head, turning to look over at the two of them before he softens. ]

They did...

[monolike]

Maybe getting to explore ruins was my prize! I'd really like to take some time to look around down here, actually. It's too bad we can't bring paper down here, I'd love to get some sketches and a map of this place...

[nerdeology]

You would say that...

[Mikleo can't really argue about it, either- the whole experience had been brilliant. Even if he hadn't gotten anything out of it - and he's honestly still weighing over whether or not getting a pet out of it will be in any way beneficial - it would've been worth the trip.]

Why don't you just use your communicator to take pictures? It still works underwater somehow. You can work out a map once we get back to the surface.

[airily]

[ Zaveid just. Looks at them before he huffs out a noise, shaking his head and crossing his arms. ]

I'll help, too, I guess...

[monolike]

You can go inside me if you're bored, Zaveid, [Sorey offers, because usually during ruins explorations Lailah and Zaveid and Edna and Rose all found ways to entertain themselves as Sorey and Mikleo yelled about the symbolism of pigments for an hour and a half.

Which is probably what's going to end up happening here.

Also Zaveid still looks like he'd like some privacy to mull over this coat thing, whatever the significance of that is.]

Alternatively, we could leave and come back later to explore properly. We've been at this all day, and now I have this thing to look after.

[He points meaningfully to the pengyon, still sound asleep. It's a convenient excuse- if it was just them, he'd be fine with exploring till their feet bleed but Zaveid's reaction to the coat makes him more sympathetic. He can at least offer Zaveid an out, if he wants one.]

I don't mind. If you guys wanna head back I'll come with you or I can just nap in Sorey.

[ Which might well sound incredible weird to anyone else, but here they are. He could use a rest with the world shut out and hiding in his vessel seems easy enough. ]

[Sorey exchanges a glance with Mikleo. He really wants to stay...] I mean, we're already here...

[nerdeology]

[Mikleo snorts faintly under his breath, though he's not surprised; Sorey's predictable, and the truth is, he wants to stay as well. If Zaveid's fine with it, then he doesn't mind at all.

He closes the distance between he and Sorey, lifting the Shepherd's hand and setting the dozing baby pengyon against his palm. His brows lift meaningfully.]

We can let it sleep in the armatus's hood while we look around?

[Come on, he's not really mad. And he kind of misses it already.]
