I'd like to offer my services to any exploration teams going down into the depths. My alchemy can be used to reshape metal, and the weapons sold in the shops here might be useful for whatever is lurking. I also have a Security augment, so if anybody needs some muscle to come along on their expeditions... I'm game.

I just hope we can figure out what's going on. I'm working under the assumption that Atroma's going to move us onward soon, whether we want to go or not... and we'll have to leave these people behind, no matter what condition they're in.

I'm going to try and do anything I can to help these people. We have a better lab, now, right? Why not use it? Even if it's not an answer we can at least give them something.

Me, too. I just hope we're here long enough to make a difference, because goodness knows Atroma doesn't care if we have unfinished business here.

I've been down to the people and I've given them some potions and helped make things a little better for them, but... [ She trails off, frowning. ] It's not going to be enough. Not unless we can find a way to stop it.

No. We need to find the source of this infection and hopefully put a stop to it. Because it's not going to be much longer before these people are wiped out, even if they do have medical care.

I'm willing to go as far as it takes. I'm sure if we asked Clay he wouldn't mind - I'd bet he'd be all for it, actually. I wonder about the rest of the crew...

I agree. And we might need a varied skillset, depending on what's beyond that barrier.

Alphonse, is there a way to convey our findings to the locals so they might be able to aid themselves when we are gone?

I'll see if any of my friends are intending to go. I'm sure we can round up a good group, Alphonse.

If you're putting together an exploration group, you can count on me as pilot. I also want to help these people. [He can add lots of muscle too but let's hope it's not needed.] Can I ask about this alchemy you mentioned? Is it some kind of ability?

I'd like that. And we might be able to take more than one shuttle- I'll have to doublecheck the Vanquish's and make sure they're shipshape.

I hadn't thought about that, but it's a good idea. Maybe we can write it down, or find some way to record it? They seem to understand our spoken language just fine.

You should let me know if there's anything I can do. I haven't learned much about the ships or the shuttles but I'm happy to do the reading.

Alchemy is a sort of science from my world that involves the deconstruction and reconstruction of matter into new forms. It's better to show than tell, I've found. [Al focuses his camera on the table in front of him and takes a blank piece of paper out of his pocket, setting it down and placing a dinner fork in the center. He then draws a circle around the fork, writing a series of runes on the edge of the circle, and presses his hand to it. Sparking blue light engulfs the fork, and voila, it's now a spoon.]

Admittedly, I'm still getting used to this kind of technology myself, so I'll probably need that. I can fly the shuttles, but if we need to do any sort of repairs beyond structural... that's a bit beyond me.

I could always ask Erik? I know him and he's an engineer... [ She frowns. ] I'm not sure how much I could learn but it's worth asking.

[Shiro has seen a lot of stuff since he's joined Voltron, but this is definitely new and has him raising both eyebrows.]

Impressive. If you can apply that to the ships, you'd be the pilot's and engineer's dream come true. And you got the security augment?

I hope so - I do not know how much of that is an effect of the ships themselves, of course, but... especially as we do not know how much time we have, I thought it might help.

I think any muscle we can get would be useful. We don't have any idea what could be down there, after all, or what could happen.

Might as well give it a shot.

And that might be a problem... Atroma's influence or our augments might be the only reason they can. But I feel like we have to try, so they can continue trying to save themselves if we're forced to go.

Yeah... strange how that kind of thing works sometimes, isn't it? If I could have chosen I would have picked something else, considering my abilities.

It might be worth looking at the capabilities of our shuttles, too. Nothing says that people on the same ship have to go, nor use their own shuttles.

That's true. I know our shuttle is well defended, but it's not precisely a racehorse.

Aye - but I agree, it seems better to leave them the tools to help them help themselves than to simply abandon them when we are dragged away.
