[Upon waking, Billy immediately reached for the bedside table as a matter of habit. There he encountered his glasses, his wrist communicator, and an unfamiliar computer-like device. Once the glasses were in place, it became apparent that his surroundings were unfamiliar. Worse, the most important of his personal effects, the silver buckle that granted him protection, was conspicuously absent. And wort of all, his personal communicator found no signal. His captors weren't precisely imitating Lord Zedd's style (he'd expect more fog and evil laughter, and possibly bruises), but the need for caution was abundantly clear.

Once he'd thoroughly rumpled the bedside area in a panic, calmed himself with a breathing exercise, and mostly brought himself up to speed on the strange computer sitting beside him, he activated it, putting considerable effort into sounding less frightened than he was.]

If I've been given this device, I have to assume there are many more...esteemed guests of our hosts. How are you enjoying your stay?

I would say that I've been in better places than this, yet I'm still very much alive. We'd better be grateful for that at least, hm?

[Never mind Lord Zedd. This guy is part daemon and very powerful in his own right, yet he's not out to harm you, Billy. He just likes the sound of his own voice.]

I am. I've been in better...and worse, I suppose.

[He's cautious, there's a lot he really can't say, but he can try to focus on information.]

I think I've heard rumblings about the depths of outer space?

[Khadgar, at the moment, is in his room on the Twin Roses, practicing summoning a water familiar as he absently picks up his own communicator, his eyes glowing blue briefly. His attempts are.... currently a disappointment, the creature appearing barely above ankle height. He banishes it with a sigh before turning his attention fully tothe communicator. And looking a little bashful.]

Sorry, I didn't realize I'd turned it on when I grabbed it. [Must be a force a habit by now.]

I wouldn't say my stay has been awful. It has been interesting but I'm hoping to find a way to get away from Atroma.

[He stares at the spot where that familiar was for a few seconds. Wow. Now that was...something he'd sort of seen before, but in a more threatening context. He'd have to save his questions for later.]

Would Atroma be our hosts?

You could say that. [Haha. Hosts. Kidnappers. It works.]

They're the ones in charge of this, ah, reality show that we're all now a part of. [They don't have television where he comes from so excuse the knitted brows.]

I think 'capture' is a more accurate term than guest.

I suspect you and I have been here about the same amount of time, so I don't have much more to share.

[ Although Signy's assessing the tactical situation and finding that it could use improvement. ]

Oh, you know how it is with other-worldly kidnappings. It's super fun. We're having the best time.

[Answering casually.] Mmm, eight and a half stars. But I only have one other abduction to compare it to.

Rumblings is an apt word, my boy. It seems we are all brought aboard these ships to entertain someone. It's a reality T.V show we're in. A space opera if you like.

[He intended to find their captors and give them a piece of his mind.]

Reality show.

[Such things don't exist so readily in the public consciousness in 1994, so he can only guess]

We're on television? That's...unsettling.

[He turns to her and shakes his head]

True, but I'm trying to extend the benefit of the doubt. I can't forget my manners.

It'd help if our assistants would tell us anything.

[His smile's a little thin.]

Well...I haven't been injured yet, it could be worse. Does that come later?

[Space opera is a more familiar concept than reality TV, but he's starting to get a handle on that too.]

This whole setting is the stage for someone's amusement, then.

And when people are placed together in a small space for an extended period...sparks fly, and I assume that's the goal.

Television, we don't have anything like that on Azeroth but the idea of people seeing my day-to-day life as entertainment- unsettling is one word.

...you might not be missing very much, especially if this kind of program's anything like what I'm assuming. But we're on the other side of the screen now.

It's alright. Twin Roses was recently fused so I have to get used to having two captains. And the fact that they're both terrible people. [There might be a little smile there, trying to take away the possible sting of the comment. Kitty and Vash aren't bad.] You're welcome to visit once you get shuffled off the Marsiva.

My weapons have been taken and I've been taken off Norway without my consent. Manners are the least of my concern right now.

It's a station or a large ship. My current speculation is station, but I can't see the outside of it.

[ Nor does the view she can see help very much. It's not a place she recognizes. ]

[ So, this place has kidnapped yet another poor soul from his homeworld. More and more people are coming as of late, and while it makes things far more interesting Luna also realizes that there is a huge problem here: a lot of these people are needed in their worlds for something or another.

[He frowns. His weapons have been taken too, but it's imperative that he pretends he never had them in the first place.]

Right. I think we're allowed a short distance out of this ward, the answer might be more obvious there.

Assigned to work on one of the fleet's ships?

[He's fairly sure he can handle that, even without the strange alteration to his brain.]

[Well...it could always be worse. He still smiles.]

Even in dreadful circumstances, there can still be new things to learn. I always hoped to learn more about the universe beyond my planet.

[He shakes his head, straightening his posture a little. Something about her aura seems to demand it.]

My name's Billy Cranston, and I'm pleased to meet you too. That's...really reassuring to hear, actually.

Injury? Sometimes. But it's not always Atroma's fault on that one. Like maybe three times out of ten, they've done it. But aside from sometimes playing with people's heads, they leave us alone for months on end. Just leave us follow the Marsvia wherever she's headed.
