Too flashy definitely not but...it's an engagement ring, it's supposed to be...special.
[ he worried about it looking too plain, too boring, too indistinguishable from other jewelry. ]
I kinda like this one -

but, maybe this one is more doable -
[ pointing to the fourth. ]
